No but I just clean it out once every few weeks. I have it connected to my reverse osmosis system so the water is already filtered with 5 stages.

Yep. If it’s coming from filtered water no need, if it’s coming from the bottom of the sink get an inline filter, just replace it every 6 months. Inline filters are $10.
