Been playing the build for the past week and I am loving it. I will say, however, thanks to Reddit posting BiS HBG builds(non shield), I did come across the perfect gun for this build. Slightly less damage and one less spread 3 round in the clip, but the max rank Tetranadon gun not only gives us fastest reload with Spread 3, it also allows us to reload it while moving, and it also has an extra 20 defense tacked on the gun as well. And I got two spare 2 deco slots where I can tack on two points of Crit boost at the sacrifice of the Thrift. Could swap this for Thrift and another Attack for max Spare Shot and AB5 if desired.
FINALLY AN HBG BUILD!!! (NUT) No seriously I saw someone using this HBG yesterday after I mastered my hunting horn build because I gave up on HBG and I instantly knew that that man/woman had a deeper understanding of jujutsu than me. Watching them block everything and heal by swapping scrolls was wonky to watch but seeing him spread 3 the monster into a seizure gave me glutton vibes. This is the way.
I've just gotten a talisman with reload speed 3, steadiness 2 with slots of 3-2-1 so I changed rakna mail x to archfiend armor baulo and barroth vambraces x to squire's brace and gotten quite some good skills. These are my current build skills: Crit eye 5, guard 5, crit boost 3, weak exploit 3, guard up 3, spread up 3, reload speed 3, recoil down 3, steadiness 3, stun resist 3, flinch free 3, blight resist 2, atk boost 1, resentment 1, spare shot 1, tune up 1 and chain crit 1. Overall, I'm super satisfied with it since I can get 90% affinity on a weakspot if I keep shooting with daora soul plus chain crit also slightly increases my damage.
Nvm... Apparently I can get it up to crit eye lv 6 by changing my armors to kaiser crown x, archfiend armor baulo, valstrax braces eclipse, rakna coil x and kulu ya ku greaves x. looks like I can nearly reach 100% affinity with this build.
Actually, according to a Japanese Video, Guard up doesn't decrease chip damage, only those unlockable attacks' damage will be decreased. And there is no way to decrease chip damage. So Guard up 1 is usually enough
what? no, guard up 1 only reduces non-guardable damage by 30%. you want lvl 3 so if you get hit by a non-guardable attack, the dmg is reduced by 80%. It's absolutely mandatory to get. You can test it out with rajang beam with guard up 1 vs 3!
@@aaroc8201 you should always try to use your counter to deal with rajang beam. Thats why I said Guard up 1 is usually enough, because most of those non guardable attacks only hit 1 time, ofc there are few exceptions
@@jasonseasons1192 except you won't always have wire bugs to do counter. Ive had rajang beam me twice back to back before, and a third time shortly after. It's very random and you can't rely solely in wirebugs against rajang and its (edited typo) variants
@@aaroc8201 Well, in the end it is more of a preference thing. By dropping guard up 3 I can fit Dereliction 1 and Blood rite 3 in my build. And guard up is the first skill you can trade for something else

Like play however your want, but my original comment was because you claimed only guard up 1 is necessary because it doesn't reduce chip dmg which is basically overlooking the entire point of guard up, which is to reduce unguardable dmg by a fixed percentage. Also if you're not going to invest in guard up it's honestly not worth playing with the shield at all. You do way more damage not investing into guard up, guard, and shield mod in place of simply 2 points into evade extender and power barrel. You can still wirebug counter without a shield.

yeap nice build. The thing that could improve alot would be redirection 2 on Talisman or something. which is what i had on all my HBG, Redirection, chain crit, tune up, eat for Shifter LUL
so in terms of pure stats the best will probably be attack 3 / wex 2 4 - 1 - 1(wex can be rank 2 in second slot, attack can go to 3 but only in the first). But I can see a world were agi 3 / attack 2 or agi 3/wex 2 or even crit boost 2 / Combo attack 2 can do things ^^. Alternatively, in all honestly you an do attack 3 part breaker 2 4 - 1 - 1, partbreaker is a bit underrated in non scripted runs, on many monsters it provides extra flinches and sometimes even topples. and If you want to max utility part breaker 3 / wirebug wisper 3 4 - 2 - 1 and slot in hard defense jewel to get defense lvl6, it's pretty decent in late mr.
The devs basically got miffed when players where complaining about difficulty so they made it so that the beasties do insane damage, but yeah it is nutty have much damage they do through shield.
Am I missing something or? The greaves of Malzeno dont have blood rite, the build with the armor you gave doesnt have blood rite. Or do you have to put it in with talisman?
He's saying he couldn't fit blood rite as a no talisman setup, cause of the other skills needed. That's why he talked about Dango Shifter as a means of sustaining hp
you can, but its like guard point, u have to perfect guard right after u shoot, not shooting will just put you at holding shield up which doesnt proc OG, and its worst than other shield weapon due to tighter guard window

One easy way to get health regen is to just eat a gourmet fish, it's literally the vaal hazak set bonus tied to an easily farmable item.
You can make the Reload Speed "Fastest" by going Tune-Up 2.
