You pull this move if you get at least 2 great free agents for the o-line
If he's available grab him a great player who wants to be a Bear it's a no brainer
I agree 100%, fix the line for sure.
Jeanty’s ability to stay up after getting hit low is other-worldly. Wherever he goes that team will have a weapon.
I will take him with out a doubt
We need oline. I want Devin Neal in a late rd. The guy that passed John Riggins and The KANSAS COMET Gale Sayers. Ku had a horrible oline and he was their offense.
Bears fans just fall in love with the flashy pick. I get it… picking a OL first round in the draft isn’t as exciting like picking a skill player but if we want excitement DURING the season then it’s necessary. IDC if we get trey smith and drew dalman…get another first round OL. We got Fields beat up and I refuse to let Caleb get beat up even further.
Well look who we signed as our RBs coach in Eric Bieniemy who was the Assistant Head Coach at Boise State where Ashton Jeanty played. Let that sink in for a minute. They have ties to each other and I bet you they draft him and that’s why they made Bieniemy our RBs coach. Bear down fam!!!!
That is my only way I would take Ashton…..I’m not even worried if they don’t answer the defensive side. As long as they fix the O-Line.
I say yes. I think its been too long since the Bears had something more than a “serviceable running back”. Not to put down anyone but Jeanty reminds me of Barry Sanders and we need team speed in a bad way. If he runs faster than a 4.40 at the combine then Bears need to grab him.
Don't draft him!!!! Trade down to #15 (at the most) ,and get an extra day 2!!!
Get judkins in 3rd round!
In October 2024, according to Heavy Sports and 247 Sports, Jeanty was asked about playing for the Bears. “Bears? Y’all got a back already, y’all got D’Andre Swift….I’m not gonna lie, Chicago’s too cold. It’s too cold. I can’t do that.” PASS!!!!!
Im ok with Jeanty at 10....as long as the O line got mostly addressed in free agency. There are still good O line prospects beyond the first round
Thats exactly right Faiz! The trenches are priority #1!
It all depends on what happens in free-agency and also how the board falls in the draft.... we don't know what's gonna happen either way. Bears could land some good free-agents on both lines, or they could miss. They could want to address the lines in the draft, but what if the players that are valued at that pick range are off the board? Just gotta let it play out, and if we stay picking at 10. I just want to get a player with star potential. I don't want to pass on a potential star, just to reach and fill a need. So if they can lock down both the lines with some proven vets in free-agency.... I'd be all for that. Cause I think the sooner those holes are filled. The better. Cause we don't know how the draft could play out.
If Ben Johnson feels good about Braxton Jones, and we sign Trey Smith in free agency, then sure.
Where he would like to go ....and what the Bears needs are ...are two different things !!! OL !!! OL !!!! OL !!!
O-line is #1 and then some. Can't run the ball with no one to block and most importantly Caleb is all that matters next season. Makes sure he's protected that's ALL that matters.
100% agree.
Swift is a third down back or when we’re trailing, nothing more. Never understood attempting to build a running game with a guy who has one of the worst broken tackle rates in the NFL. Ben already knows.
If we adress the line in Free agency, Then I think we should draft Ashton
If he is still there at 10, someone is going to want to move up to take him, and they might be willing to overpay to do it.
Agree Faiz
Fix the Oline they are the worst. If the line does not get fixed CW will be ruined as a QB with another 68 sack year... Fix the dang line
I say we should get Ashton Jeanty, but only if we get better players for the Oline.
Your exactly right.. Only look at Jeanty IF you get at least 2 starters in free agency.. And that's still only a maybe
He also said he wanted to play for Dallas at one point. Cool that he name dropped the Bears but it's because we got "the shiny new toy" in Ben Johnson. I think any of these college players would love to play for Ben Johnson right now. Those free agents might feel the same way too!
If kelvin banks is still on the board u take him. If banks is gone, but jeanty is still there then I don’t mind. This is also barring free agency moves made. This draft is loaded with RB talent at the end of the day
You can't pass up a good player just because you think the offensive line should be a higher priority.
If we sign and draft offensiv elime and defensive line, the yes. We can draft him then use 3 or more picks in lineman and many others
trading back should be the case also
I agree 💯%
Who cares about that College running back that wants to be drafted by the Bears today was a sad day Virginia McCaskey passed away😢
Love this kid, but no.... no no no...... We need O line and D line all FA long..... all Draft Long....
You can build the line via Free agency. Stanley and Tre Smith is two guaranteed starters day 1. Darnell Wright and Braxton are staying.
@@Ihavetocorrectyou Its been bottom 10 since Lovie. I want both, and I want it well done for Caleb's entire career
Who the hell is gonna block for him!??? Stop the crap, build up that O-line!
Do not Draft a running back with the 10th pick. Offensive and Defensive line please. We cried for years about both lines and in every draft, we ignore them. Get as many cheap good linemen as you can. Getting them via free agency is no sustainable. Add free agents but build through the draft.
If we can be effective in free agency as far as the O Line then I’m okay with RB at 10. But they O line cannot be left to Poles alone.
You’re absolutely correct! The trenches need to be top priority above all else for the Bears.
If we get some good o lineman then maybe but I rather go d line then running back
The bears don’t need to take a lineman in the first round💯 they have 2 second round picks..also there is no blue chip offensive lineman at the top of the draft..maybe 1
Yeah the offense has to be fix
I mean if we take care of our O-line in free agency first then most definitely I'm all for drafting him!!
I agree
Nah top pick needs to be spent on one of the lines. Plenty of backs in this draft
I with you man!
I want 2 offensive lineman and one dlineman before we think about taking a running back
Yes sign Stanley and Tre Smith if you dont sign them or adress the O line than skip passed. I still dont trust Poles drafting I lineman. Darnell wright is still questionable.
I completely agree with you. I would love to have him, but we need to get the trenches fixed first.
Would rather have Cam Skattebo
I’m not a fan of Jeanty. He plays in a weak conference. Of course he looks like Saquon Barkley in that conference. I bet his numbers wouldn’t look like that in the SEC.
What if he is a great player in this league if he is a great player an you have conviction that that he is going to be a great player you pick him we passed up on patrick mahomes an carter 2 players that are in the super bowl you dont pass up great players for good players if he is the best player available you pick that player alot of times it takes time for offensive line to develop an offensive line is one of the harder positions to To evaluate im just tired of passing up on guys an they have success some where else Obviously we need guys in the trenches an really depends on free Agency but what can help out an offensive line is a good running game
Yes if hes there don't pass up generational talent.
Listen again what are you not taking into account is the following
1. Boise State doesn’t play any body they are really a D2 team so his numbers are inflated.
2. They played Penn State a team not known for their D and he got completely shut down.
The Bears drafted CW based purely on numbers and that’s why he is struggling forget the obvious issues with the O line he holds the ball too long and even with time his accuracy is garbage on passes over 20 yards.
Finally the Bears don’t know what to do even when they have a good running back they had Monty and gave Hurbert away to Cinn and kept Swift who based on money or a complete bust
Bears are drafting a RB in the 2nd rd so if Jeanty's there in the 2nd Bears will draft him.
Or Cam Skattebo
@TTundragrizzly I don't think Bears will draft a RB who runs a 4.65 40.
NO NO NO!!!! Fix the OL.
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO FIX THE TRENCHES!!
The only answer is No, no, no. You need THREE Offensive AND TWO Defensive starters. Don’t stir the meatballs w/ this nonsense.
I hope they don't draft him dim the office of lion help
Swift is not the guy
NOOOOO. Sort out the line asap.
Don't want him. In THIS draft? We can easily get someone great later on. Trenches all day early on. Like Jeanty but he isn't a CMC or Saquon.
He looks better than them coming out of college.
@@Ihavetocorrectyouyou honestly think he looks better than Saquon as a draft prospect?
@jackpabich763 Absolutely. Jeanty got snubbed for Heisman this year. This dude just rushed for the most yds in a season by a running back. That screams generational. 😱
Offensive line
No!
Let’s see, we built a Corvette without an engine offensive line defensive line that’s how you build the team put a Motor in there
Saqoun made the New york Giants Awful line look magica...So No, Good lines don't always equal Good running backs🤷♂
Trey smith in FA and Ashton Jeanty at 10. Think about what ben Johnson did with Gibbs and Jeanty is even better
