Thank you for this Tyson and Kyle. This is the very shot I'm starting to work on. I do have a two hand backhand though, and would love a video on that.
Tyson - I like your 80/20 concept. It definitely makes the roll volley a more consistent stroke. However a couple of comments. 1. When you need extra lift on very low balls, occasionally you are at 50/50 using significantly more wrist rotation. This is a very advanced technique that pros can do but it very difficult for amateurs. 2. Again when you need extra lift it is necessary for you to open the paddle face significantly on the roll volley. It’s probably good to mention this to students as they will miss a lot roll volleys into the net if they don’t open paddle face somewhat. Finally your drills are excellent.
Thanks for the support and you’re absolutely right! The lower the ball on the roll volley the more open your paddle face needs to be to clear the net 👍.
What grip does Tyson use if engaged in a net battle with four players at the net. Seems like no time to make his grip changes? My issue is I can roll a BH volley using the continental grip but it’s more difficult to roll the FH volley with the continental. Conversely, using an eastern grip I can roll the FH volley but it’s a weak grip for the BH volley.
Outstanding instruction. Love that you show all the steps and the proper practice.
Love these two teaching us. Miss these types of videos.
That's exactly what I needed. Thanks
Anytime 😀

Ok we’ll add that to the list of our next wave of videos 👍
Great to learn from 2 of the best thanks Tyson and Kyle appreciate your awesome instruction!

Great video and perfect timing! Last night, a friend wanted to practice this. Shared with him.
This shot can completely change a person’s game! Well worth the time commitment to learn this one 👍.
This is great - I've been using or "stuck" on the block or punch volley for a while. I think I'm ready to find when to use this during play.
Thanks for sharing

Continental for net battles. I only adjust the grip slightly if I have time coming off an opponents slow shot.
