Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings (November 27, 2023) - The Greatest Game

- What is pain? Do we even know what that is? After witnessing the Bears play the Vikings on Monday Night, I hope to further understand the core of such misery. This was a game. It was definitely the greatest in a few aspects, alright. Just not the ones anyone wishes to enjoy.
I had to suffer for Sportsball, so you have to as well.
This game set football back to the 1920s.
More like the 1820s
Gaylord Stinchcomb would have run the offense better than Fields
edit: just realized they were playing the same postion at OSU exactly 100 years apart
Bears owner virginia mccaskey: "those were the days"
No, the 1920s had more offense and defensive competence than these two "teams".
Hey, my favorite game ever is still watching that 3-0 blizzard game between Miami and NE in the early 80s.
We finally have a game this season that once again qualifies as truly THE greatest game
Footballin', but at what cost?
Symbolic of this terrible NFL season.
Tree has been extremely selective. I feel like there are dozens of suitors that deserve this honor were rejected.
Have to think last night will also be in contention. No punts, no defense, and the referees got erect with their flags. Practically the inverse of this MNF
@@mason.11 WE DEM BOYZ
This was actually a really high scoring game between Chicago and Minnesota. The White Sox and Twins combined for 22 runs; that's really impressive. 12-10 is a baseball score, right?
*dies inside*
💀😂
I’m more shocked the White Sox were allowed to score that much.
Only thing worse is a cricket score
Actually, this is a hockey game. Corey Perry scored 5 times.
The state of Illinois is now 2-0 in “The Greatest Game”. Don’t know if I should feel proud about that.
It was made with us in mind
the 9 OT game that ended up being 20-18 and the worst offensive schowcase that actually won somehow
*_"Thousands of years of human evolution yet these teams are making the wheel into a square"_*
Quote of the year
4:05 here's where this quote is at
For us Lions fans, this game saved our Thanksgiving week from being a total disaster.
I would give you guys WAY more crap n trolling EXCEPT THIS HAPPENED
This makes the butt fumble LOOK like a boring play
This was SIXTY MINUTES of COMPLETE INCOMPETENCE
At least you’re 8-3. We still have to play the Chiefs. The rest of the season actually looks good if Love keeps this up, but you guys are either gonna boom or bust this postseason.
@@praetorian9823 It's gonna be an interesting week for both of us. You got the Chiefs, we got the Saints, and both these teams in the video got a bye coming. We'll see what happens.
Lmao, Vikings fans were shit talking the Lions all year. This is well deserved Karma. Enjoy that greatest game hoes 😂😂😂
@TimothyMartin-fe5miLmao y’all got a greatest game for playing like shit and losing to the Bears. Eat that karma shit 😂😂😂
Fun fact, the first forward pass in football was in 1906...these offenses look like they just discovered it
This just made me imagine going back to around then and telling the qb to launch that mf as far as he can and make the wr run under it, then again footballs weighed like 4 pounds back then
UrinatingTree- As a Chicago Bears fan, this video put a smile on my face.
Thank you...
As a Vikings fan, I have never been more incensed, infuriated, nay...LIVID at the offense's performance. Kevin O'Connell made Mike Zimmer look like an offensive guru in this game. He was so conservative that even Ted Cruz would tell him to chill.
What a waste of a defensive performance. Zero touchdowns and forcing a turnover on Chicago's side of the field and we STILL didn't get it done.
You speak truth brother. O'Connell has proven himself the weak link in this chain.
NOT ONLY did you LOSE to Chicago of ALL POSSIBLE TEAMS but you did it in a way where you DESTROYED any possible dignity you EVER HAD
Sixty minutes of BUTTFUMBLING n hell Mary STRAIGHT
And the best part is I CAN TROLL the bears too for this crap as they weren't ANY BETTER
the truly baffling thing is that he can organize a drive! But the second we get any lead in any game, he just stops trying to earn more points. It's been a hard watch and this game was by far the most frustrating of the season on so many levels
The Minnesota Vikings: A Legacy of Failure.
Lmao, Vikings fans were shit talking the Lions all year. This is well deserved Karma. Enjoy that greatest game hoes 😂😂😂
As a Bears fan I’m actually proud to honored to be apart of…the greatest game
This is our third one. It gets old. Trust me.
It wasn't that bad to watch. People are too ADHD-addled these days
Hahahahaha I MIGHT DIE from laughter as a packers fan
BRILLIANT STUFF TREE
Hahahahaha I am entering a state of eternal laughter because of you 2 JOKES in our division
My packers will send you a postseason postcard to rub further iodine in the wound
You must be one of those Bears fans that somehow believe Justin Fields cannot fail, he can only be failed.
i can feel the greatest game coming inside me
Nah the fuck- 😂
Nani?!
HUH
Eyo?
🤨
Time for the Vikings to be involved in back-to-back Greatest Games.
Joe: "This game is over, thankfully."
Tree: "You said it, Joe. You fucking said it."
I was laughing, even though I'm still sick. But hey, at least we got a Greatest Game.
Tom Brady said there’s too much Mediocrity in this league, and this game is a testament to that.
As a Vikings fan I’ve been dreading this moment.
A fitting tribute to U of Iowa's offensive masterpiece and the Big Ten West. RIP Big Ten West.
I go to Iowa and Im from Chicago. I have to watch these two terrible offensives every week!
I'm gonna miss the Big Ten West. We all hated each other and it was fun every year despite how awful our offenses were. Now it won't be the same
As a Vikings fan whose whole in-law side of the family has gone to Iowa, it is miraculous to watch these high scoring, riveting affairs every week. Dobbs and Deacon Hill should go out for coffee.
@@noobguy57now with no more divisions the Big 10 Championship Game is going to be Michigan-Ohio St every season. I didn’t mind seeing Iowa and Wisconsin trying to win it but it’ll be much harder for them to make it there now
I'm a Bears fan and this is a great video. A Bears win is even depressing. After the game I said that there is a thousand things to say and there is nothing to say, I'm done.
The one things both Bears and Vikings fans can agree on, nobody deserved to win that game
How do you feel about Fields? Taking his last two seasons into account, even with the record which is mainly due to a horrible defense last season and horrible coaching this season. Honest question.
Nah I’m glad we won this game it was the last I had before my dog died the day after and I was drunk so seeing a win while knowing time was limited with the dude and a bye coming up had me hyped especially when we won.
@@Walker-ow7vj Still sayin "we" huh? The Bears don't care about you man, find something else to do.
@@MFBloosh The Bears have had a running QB, in fact they have had several. How did it work out with them? First play after Fields comes back from IR and they run him!? That shows they have nothing else. That kids going to end up in a coma, and The Bears will find another QB to ruin. Chicago is the new Cleveland. And saying this is someone who's been watching The Bears for 40 years. I'm done investing any emotional resources to this organization, come with me friend, you will sleep better.
Truly a masterpiece. A true example of peak NFC North football.
As a Bears fan, yes but have you seen what the NFC South has going on?
This was more Big Ten West football than NFC North football
@@miked51no touchdowns AGAINST THAT TEAM
EMBARASSING
You didn't win this game
Detroit n MY PACKERS WON because you both soiled yourselves on national TV
You OUTDETROITED N OUTDID the butt fumble, the holy roller, tuck rule n hell Mary FOR SIXTY CONSECUTIVE MINUTES
Both franchises should be demoted to the xfl
Might want to do one about the Vikings vs. Raiders game…
the bills and vikings are both in so much pain going into their bye week, it's so unfortunate considering they played each other in another greatest game last year
The Greatest Game just keeps getting Greater and Greater
The next Greatest Game should be 6-0 Chargers vs Patriots?
@@jimnfl7134no, Vikings and Raiders
If only Minnesota beating Vegas 3-0 meant that Gustavsson got a shutout. Can't wait to see back-to-back "Greatest Game" videos for the Vikings.
Minnesota Vikings vs. Las Vegas Raiders 2023 just set a NEW LOW… please make a video on that
This was a game. Best way to describe it.
The Passtronaut has regressed badly.
He came crashing back to Earth.
He has become the Passtro-not.
Of all the games, this was one of them
I can only imagine what the 3-0 game video will be like
I see that Brian Ferentz’s innovative Iowa offense has started to make its way to the NFL.
Finally! My bears are in a Greatest Game!
Took us long enough!
That you won because the Vikings self-destructed yet again
@@amethyphoenix gotta give bears defense some credit
You know it’s bad when the announcers are thankful the game is over
💀 thats what i was thinking
I needed 4 points from Dobbs to win this fantasy football week and the last play is what gave me the win by less than a point. This was a game that existed.
I actually liked seeing Jaylon Johnson make some plays in this game. It wasn’t as boring as the score suggested.
Don't make excuses
@@soulknife20it really wasn’t
No, it was worse.
Right? Bears didn't make any mistakes until the very end of the game, meanwhile Dobbs is throwing an interception on damn near every drive lol.
My dad said once that “bad football is better than no football.” After watching this game I don’t think he’s right because this game made me wish that the game of football had never been created
The fact that something topped pats vs giants is crazy
Just found your channel and noticed you made a video about this game. I'm a vikings fan (it's rough lol) I went to it in person the day I got laid off lol. Sadly losing my job wasn't the worst to happen that day 😂 the vibes were terrible in the stadium
Petition to have Minnesota vs Las Vegas as THE GREATEST GAME!
Luke Getsy disaster class. I’m ready for the screen pass drinking game.
The Chargers vs. Patriots game was way greater than this
This game was the worst thing to happen to the Vikings since the last time they stepped on the field.
@7:22 as a bears fan this is the happiest we’ve been since 2019
I think I fell asleep during this game around half-time or so, or I disassociated from sheer apathy. When I woke up and saw the ending score, I was happy I fell asleep.
I had a severe laugh attack at that wide open deep pass out of bounds. Taking football back to the Flintstones’ days.
Also love the Skill Crane theme at the end.
To be honest, the XFL had much more competitive games last spring than the NFL this year. Most NFL games are just not fun to watch anymore. Just too many terrible mistakes made by players, coaches and referees that should never happen in supposedly the “highest tier” of football. I’m just waiting for the XFL to start again. Go Defenders. Let the beer snakes grow ever longer.
Go Battlehawks, I'm right with you. The NFL is a joke. The only thing keeping it alive is the Fantasy and Betting Leagues. Once the XFL gets that it's game over for the NFL
As someone who had a shot of Malört, I can say that visual you create at the start is a good one. Wordsmithing at its finest
The Chicago bears sent themselves back to the 1940s with this game
In the 1940s they were winning games 73-0.
It was the last time they had a good QB.
So the championship era? I'll take it lol
Heh, Sid Luckman might be the oldest QB still on his team's all time 1st string (possibly Sammy Baugh too, but at least he has some competition)
Nah, the Bears had a Hall of Fame QB in the 40s
UrinatingTree- As a Chicago Bears fan, this video made my day.
Thank you.
I am looking forward to the Vikings 3, Raiders 0 Greatest Game.
6:41 "So, where's Fields going to end up next year?"
Oh, Tree of little faith, the football gods have a surprise for you...
You cursed yourself tree! Fields is your problem now.
Thanks Tree for this. As a Seahawks fan, upset with my team for the third week in a row and i wish we just played a complete game of football, not even gonna blame it on refs. Helps me remind myself that at least we aren't on here, yet....
How does Matt Eberflus still have a job I also had the unfortuanate task of watching this game. Fields has shown flashes but he needs more time to cook. But sadly the Bears and their fans don't want to wait
"We are so glad you could all join us today for the greatest game! Whoo-hoo! Cornball! Yeah!"
I'm gonna keep doing that until Tree posts the Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil clip where Kelly says that in the "Cornball!" episode.
The greatest game in sports history will never be forgotten
as a vikings fan who had a fever of 101° while watching this game, where are the 20 musical numbers i remember happening.
As a Packers fan I've been waiting for this Greatest game. Thank you to the rest of the NFC North for this week, you gave us packer fans a breath of hope again. Light the beacons the Packers are Coming!!!
DAMMIT. DON'T CONSUME THE FALSE HOPE! We are not good! Our division just overall sucks! I repeat! DO NOT CONSUME THE FALSE HOPE!
DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!
DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT NOT THINKING OF IT!
Don't get on the ride! It never ends and the Broncos still can't get off it!
Wait a few weeks and then we can talk, fellow Packers fan.
A packers fan with a golden knights logo for a profile pic. Are you also a Lakers fan?? lmao ride another bandwagon why dontcha?
I just.....I just have to know. How many yankees hats do you have in your closet? $10 says its no less than 5
@@baknights14 agreed,screw the Yankees!
I'm not even a Red Sox fan and i hate them Yanks!
UrinatingTree- As a Chicago Bulls fan, I appreciate the use of the song 'Sirius' by The Alan Parsons Project.
Good work--as always...
The Bears not only win the game, they still win the tank by virtue of David Tepper being the new Dan Snyder. Good on ya, Bears. I hope you get a Hall of Famer with that pick while the team you got it from becomes the new age Cleveland Browns.
Knowing the people at the top? They’ll probably turn them into journeymen
@@2049571 Marvin Harrison Jr is going to be a journeyman?
@@2049571 If that happened, that'd actually piss me off. The last thing I'd want from that trade is a trade where absolutely no one wins.
Vikings doing it two times in one season, that’s impressively sad
BIG 10 football!!!! Wait this is the NFL?!
Whoever is getting paid to schedule Thursday Night games is getting paid too much
If only we had Kirk Cousins. This defense has made a huge leap but are offense took a huge step back without him and JJ 😭
The funniest thing about this is that the Vikings one touchdown got me a win in fantasy for the week
Took us way back to 1920 when Jim thorpe was President of the league.
Games like this are why my roommate and I played Drinking Football in college. The rules, for those who are both curious and insane:
-Use beer. Liquor and this will kill you.
-1 sip per snap.
-1 sip per score
-1 sip per turnover
-If a FG hits the upright and goes in, drink. If it happens twice in the same game, or it's a double doink? Finish your drink.
-If a play is challenged and reversed, finish your drink.
Good luck.
I love how Tree makes a game into a story… For those of us that are not savvy in football, your stories are very entertaining, and the music accompaniment is awesome! 👏👏👏👏
The Ferentz's loved this game, but were disappointed that the score was too high
I was looking for the Hawkeye comment lol
I was at that game and my dad and I drove from Kansas over 600 miles and back to Minneapolis Minnesota. It was the first game I had been to in Minnesota as well as my dad. We loved it even though we lost, we had an awesome time
0:20 weird remix of “Sirius”
From "The culture is pretty damn good to our culture is outstanding
Great video, as always! I can't wait for this week's Greatest Game: Chargers-Patriots edition
Games like this are the best to drink to. Easy to follow. And boy did I get plastered...
I did not need to be reminded of this game. Usually we’re on the winning side of the greatest games with the colts and bills last year
It's games like this that makes me glad the NFL is finally flexing MNF games..every team doesn't deserve a primetime game
The Vikings must be the best team at making Greatest Games over these last two seasons
*This game set football back to 1876.*
I don't know what's more funnier, the point that we have multiple games in the same season as when the Dolphins dropped 70 that make it seem like an anomaly than an outlier or the factor they tanked so hard that it didn't even matter in the end or how the interceptions all happened because of a popped balls with none of them being clean with the statistic that many ints even happened.
My bears are really the worst. Unlike most folks, I was not optimistic about this season. I've suffered through disappointment after disappointment with them for 20 years now.
Imagine if the Bears didn’t have Carolina’s 1st round pick. Winning vs Minnesota is losing the tank.
Exactly why winning shouldn't be considered a bad thing this season lol. No matter what, we're probably either going to get MHJ or trade that pick for an absolute HAUL, larger than the one we got last season with DJ Moore.
How many screen passes do you plan on running
Getsy: Yes
The Age Of Empires II taunt 11 laugh at the 7:29 mark was a nice touch lol
Being a Vikings fan is so painful. What the hell is up with them and close games? Most of their games these past few seasons have been close games. They were great last year but they are so inconsistent this year! 😫
I've been aware of the Vikings for 46 years, and in all that time I can barely remember a handful of true statement games, where they routed a team they were supposed to beat, or stood up on their hind legs and upset a great team. They play up to good teams and down to bad ones. That's why the games are so close. Last year was a mirage. They're regressing to the mean.
This team, though, will have no opportunity for a statement win. They just aren't that good. 9-8 would be the upper limit. I think it's probably going to end up at 8-9. They're average in a mediocre league. Let that sink in. The best you can hope for is eking out a win.
Why Tom Brady is right:
at week 9 or 10, we had a record amount of different QBs starting this year, the number was around 60 and increasing.
Owners have completely stopped developing 2nd string QBs. Biggest problem there is that they get no reps in spring because spring training or OTAs are not taken seriously because of some rule dynamic (easy but costly fix).
This happened, and then the recent Vikings-Raiders game saw this as a challenge...
As a Carolina fan. I am so so so so much in pain.
The true greatest game of all time was the Seahawks vs the Cardinals in 2016 where they tied 6-6 after several missed field goals and double overtime
That is a great memory for me as a 49er fan
This was every jets game this year so I didn’t mind watching it lol it felt like home
As a Bears fan, we might not play for the Super Bowl, but at least we played The Greatest Game
It has been too long without a greatest game.
That DJ Moore catch at the end actually won me my fantasy matchup by half a point, so at least some good came of this debacle
Is the backround music, to the part of this video before the game, a remix of Sirius? The song the 90's Bulls had their pregame introductions set to?
Early on this looked like a Tank Bowl (both started 0-3)
The only thing I remember from this game was checking the stats after forgetting this game and seeing Josh Dobbs 99 yrds and 4 ints and Fields 101 yrds both didn't have a TD in the 3rd quarter....I'm like what the hell is this game?
I’m so embarrassed to be a chargers fan can’t believe I picked that team. Pain.
The Passtronaut went from Major Tom to Dr. William Weir awfully quick
I already miss the B1G West.
Guys I think Luke Getsy has called another screen pass
Thanks for suffering with us. Very cathartic.
This game took place on my birthday. It was the greatest birthday.
Fields took a helmet to the arm, I'd like to see Caleb Williams hold on to that.
Do a Massillon-Hoban video next!
I'm a Lions fan just happy that we don't need to worry about the division anymore even after the Packers ruined Thanksgiving
I saw the title for this and thought it was from 1985 then I saw it was from Tree and was like, "Oh nope it's definitely from Monday." Thank you for making something good come out of that 3.5 hours of my life I can't get back.
