Hey Ed... you really have raised these instructional videos to a "fine art" and you make it look so-damned-easy! Absolutely have to give this Synapse a try!
I builted my first plane from your videos long time ago and it was perfect..and now l want to build a flying wing and after long search l find your videos again ..Other videos are very simple nut yours absolutely amazing. Thanks for your videos..
That's a pretty advanced sailplane upgrade so I would research that very carefully. They must be symmetrical in size and deployment, and usually inboard somewhat on the wings, definitely inboard of the ailerons. I have used typical inboard flaps (not true spoilers per se) and made a flap setting of up 20 degrees and that works pretty well, plus you're only dealing with the trailing edge, not as much the actual innards of the wing as with 90-degree pop-up spoilers.
I would love to see more about "washout" and the other aerodynamical properties of wings - I don't know much about this, and would love to learn - can you recommend anything?
Ed, you speak with authority on the topics you cover so well. Many thanks for the excellent videos. I have an ARF Bird of Time which I would like to add spoilers to, but not sure where and how to place the spoilers....any suggestions for this?
So you mentioned on the 7inch cord the wing length is 30 inches. Could I use the lenght of my depron sheet which is 47inches? Or should I now increase the cord lenght? Thx
So sorry I do not have a reference to point you to. I learned most of what I know about flying wings from studying weight shift trikes which I used to fly for many years. Start with Wikipedia and follow see-also, external links, and further reading, and I'm sure you'll find some good stuff.

Lately I like Radical RC. As good prices as store-bought arrows and the shipping is super cheap.
