His best songs are album cuts. Great stories like Lonesome Dove, Wolves, Cowboy Bill, The Cowboy Song. So much heart put into those songs.

@@SeboltLawnLandscape I think that's standard for true fans who go deep into an artist's work. Alabama Clay and Everytime It Rains are my favorites from the first album, and this live performance is excellent. Garth Brooks and Enrique Iglesias are my top two favorite artists (different genres of course), and the same was true for Iglesias' songs that didn't get released as singles or got played on the radio, especially stuff from his Spanish albums.

Shout out from Oklahoma! Love all your music, Garth. It doesn’t rain much anymore, but love it when it does. You’re an awesome artist.God has truly blessed you. I began playing the piano at the age of four, by ear. I later learned to play from sheet music. Your book is the only country music I own, and love it. Since my dad died I don’t play, but still appreciate true talent when I hear it!

I really love this version. That one line he adds towards the end “It’s raining on me/and I love the rain” isn’t in the studio version but I think it adds a nice touch. It shows even though the relationship didn’t work out, there’s fondness in the memory. Sort of a “don’t be sad it’s over, smile because it happened” sort of thing. It’s subtle, but I think it’s great.

ya know as much as I know about this guy and all his songs, it's ones like this and others that are not on his greatest hits albums that I never knew he had done or even existed. I think that largely has to do with the fact that til mr. Brooks came along I never listened to country and couldn't stand it because of that twang and typical sound and typical lyrics that comes with every country song it seems and also I would have been just a tad too young to remember all his songs especially during the late 80s and early 90s

Stuck in an airport in Austin, all of the flights are delayed
And as the rain keeps fllin' the mem'ries keep callin' me back
    To another time and place
Back to a rainy dy in Oklahoma, she was workin' at this roadside cafe
And it was just her and me and looked like it would be
At least 'till the storm rolled away
I played "Please Come to Boston" on the jukebox
She said hey that's my favorite song
The next thing I knew the song was through
And we were still dancin' along
And with that look in her eyes she pulled from me
Then she pulled off that apron she wore
And with her hand in mine we turned off the sign
And locked the rain outside the door
Every time that it rains I can hear her heart callin'
It rains, I can see that dress fallin'
The storm clouds roll on, still the memory remains
    Every time that it rains
One late rainy night I got a phone call
So I went back to see her again
And through the dnce we both stumbled and with the buttons we fumbled
So we decided just to call it at friends
If we ever had a thing now it's over and only the memory remains
Of a roadside cafe on a September day
I relive every time that it rains
Every time that it rains I can hear her heart callin'
It rains, I can see that dress fallin'
The storm clouds roll on, still the memory remains
    Every time that it rains

    "Everytime That It Rains"

We learned about gratitude and humility - that so many people had a hand in our success, from the teachers who inspired us to the janitors who kept our school clean... and we were taught to value everyone's contribution and treat everyone with respect. And

if you do not like newer style country music dont listen to it, i am so sick of you people talking out your asses about this is real country the new stuff...blah blah blah blah blah...... get over yourselves, even these classic country artists for the most part like the "new" stuff

Man, those first two albums... I thought it was the second coming of Hank Williams and a truly respectable evolution of country music.
'Course from that point on Garth turned out to just be Richard Marx with short hair.
    Cryin' shame.
