This was the first of two meetings between Pitt and Oklahoma State in the NCAA Tournament. They met here and then met five years later in 2009 in ironically the same region ,East Region, in the second round. These two teams have also played numerous times during the regular season as well: - 2006 - 2007 - 2011 - 2017
