Being objective, like pretending everything said by both sides is false, Kendrick still won the beef. Drake should have taken into account that he has beenin the public's eye to a bigger extent than Kendrick is. I made that sound super complicated, Kendrick is a private person, but Drake is not. Drake should also take into account that the public views his relationship with younger women as strange. Again, let's pretend these relationships are 100% innocent, Drake knows what the discourse online surrounding this is. He should have also taken into account that there is a video online from a concert where he touches a 17-year-old girl, learns of her age, and kisses her. I know that the woman in question has come out in defense of Drake but I feel like that doesn't take away from the weirdness of it. In basic terms, it's "30-year-old woman says it was okay that a popstar touched her on stage at 17". I am happy that the woman didn't come out of the experience feeling traumatized about it but it is STILL WEIRD. Lastly, he is admittingly a proud WOMANIZER in his songs. Drake has done so many things that it is frankly WAY too easy to stick things onto him. Public perception online is against him and he KNOWS it. People will say "Of course, Drake could be sleeping with underage girls, did you see that he did this and this? Of course Drake would have another kid around and we don't know about it, remember when he did this? Of course drake could have other children running around, he has probably slept with so many women throughout his career by his own admittance. Of course Drake is running a trafficking ring, remember when his friend did this?" Drake has too much dirt to ever win a low-blow battle. even if everything is false. The personal angle that Drake is so persistent on using (Pusha T, Kendrick Lamar) will never work. like Kendrick said, he needs to keep things friendly and not immediately make it personal, because he just loses. Kendrick on the other hand is an extremely private person and has been for his entire career. The general public has no idea what this dude is up to. I enjoyed Push Ups and Family Matters, but he shouldn't have put so much stock into Family Matters. He shouldn't have underestimated Kendrick like that, especially after Kendrick himself said he was going to pull a back-to-back (though maybe he could have never known, maybe he thought 6:16 was the back-to-back). Also, he should have immediately been ready, in Drake's defense he did call out the pedo angle in Taylor Made. He KNEW the angle Kendrick could potentially take before he did and he STILL WASN'T READY??? Idk Drake just made a bunch of mistakes that cost him a lot. Like Drake went personal on Family Matters and didn't think Kendrick would immediately go personal too? I will cut him some slack though because I don't think anyone could ever predict that Kendrick would drop immediately and take the wind out of Drake's sails. But on some level, Drake should have been ready for the battle to potentially not be over. I believe that Drake was extremely desperate to have his own Pusha T moment that it cost him the entire battle because he put all his resources into it. Let's not forget about Baka who has a very weird and documented case and Drake still keeps him around. Drake just has way too much dirt that he should frankly never have gotten into a diss battle with someone as big as Kendrick Lamar that would put everything out in the limelight. Even though he lost hard to Pusha T, Kendrick is the only person who is almost as big as Drake. Anyway, this feels parasocial af. Of course, I have Kendrick bias but I did try to break down why I feel Drake lost in an objective way.
Very well articulated. After this brutal loss drakes ego has either taken a massive hit or his level of self deludedness has gotten a massive boost lol. I would guess it’s the latter but for his sake hope it’s the former
YES!!! if we breakdown the logic behind what transpired, drake lost the battle because he underestimated the whole situation. “Know your enemy and know your self” - Sun Tzu, The Art of War He thought he had 1 bomb (FM) and acted like a winner before it was decided. No contigency whatsoever. Little did he know Kdot had mass weapon stocked for him. There’s a reason why Kdot’s stuff being studied at uni
I don't think we talk enough about how expertly Kendrick uses his voice to animate and emote the exact feeling he wants to show. That's why Euphoria is my favorite, every line was delivered with character.
Yeah for sure, he's really perfected the art of delivery. People talk about Drake being a performer but Kendrick is such a fantastic performer on top of everything else.
The tonal inflections. A different version of ear worming- I literally love the mocking "what is it the braids?! You don't wanna work with me no more- OKAY!" Like it repeats in my head. Same with "Pusha Tee" line like the way he says "T" on REPEAT in my head.
Those were my thoughts since "Like that" verse! Kendrick is an exquisite lyricist but he deff doesn't get enough props for his vocal control, and the artistry he demonstrates with intonation, that got not only the USA to c-walk on Drake's virtual grave, but the whole world. (I am an Eastern European millennial, and didn't grow up in the culture, but sure I grew up listening to hip-hop, and even where I grew up the West Coast still to this day has religious level fans). It's just big him, man. It's just big him
Y'all be trippin, Kendrick is already like that. His albums have different kinds of Kendrick's. There's a Drunk Kendrick, there's a devil Kendrick, there's the subconscious Kendrick etc.
If you don’t want to classify Drake as a PDF file then you can say at the very least he’s a groomer. Somebody who meets young girls n basically befriends them in hope of dating them once they’re of age.
For me, this was an excellent breakdown! A couple of pointers: 1) People often forget how early Drake's hypocrisy starts. On "Successful" he had a line about "If you make a diss about me, i hope you dont expect a reply for it" or something to that effect. 2) The main point often missed that hit home in the beginning but seems lost by most in The Story of Adidon is that not only he hid his son then lied to LeBron and the World about it after getting exposed by Pusha T, he also was hiding his son only to roll him out as part of an Adidas line Drake was to endorse (that the diss put the brakes on permanently as a result). Its really sad it gets overlooked because it speaks even more to Drake's character flaws and familial bonds issues. 3) Drake has always leveraged what was the highest currency to barter in exchange for clout, which then he could extract for cash via his music later. Kendrick was spot on- Drake is a maater manipulator with a massive sense of entitlement to the Culture he gleefully makes money off of but demeans when in other circles.
Nah, y’all didn’t get the importance of 6:16. 6:16 was released after Drake posted an IG story of Adonis looking in the mirror with the caption Mirror Time Crodie…Kendrick wanted to give Drake one more chance to switch gears and not go the family route. 6:16 was another warning saying I will go to war with you if you get personal and I’m letting you know I know what you are releasing and am prepared to counter it.
@VizWorld_SIA100 so in 6:16 K clearly sounds like he doesn't want to destroy drake. He wants to be peaceful and seems to be looking for any way to not blow up drakes life. I can respect that. But if Cole has similar info to K, similar morals to K why didn't he ever move against drake? The contrast in how they moved bothers me
It was also perfect at allowing the audience and Drake to understand how important this war was to Kendrick. He's making it clear he's not taking this lightly and is attaching the music to his religious identity. It's awesome
If Diddy paid 50k & got footage of him beating Cassie hidden for 8 years, I absolutely DRAKE can pay a woman to hide a child, pay to make charges/people go away, and cover up foul shit. He says he has lunch with judges in his music 😂 love the channel btw 👑👑
@@qthebars On the channel ABSA FCKN LUTELY, she details quite a few ways that Drake could be hiding a daughter and she seems to think he might be dodging a process server from the mother. (Which he's done in the past)
That's not what it means. Kendrick has a album people always talk about which was " DAMN . Pultizer Prize.... Drake don't have that. Classic album like that
The funniest shit about the meat beating video is him bragging about it on “Family Matters” (we all know he leaked it himself), just for it to be used against him 30 minutes later on “meet the grahams” in relation to trafficking. 💀⚰️ He’s so inept it’s almost hilarious.
ngl hearing him make that joke in family matters i laughed initially but immediately felt a bit gross because of how kendrick recontextualized it. And then i thought about the wide scale rammifications and how that one teacher talked about how chaotic schools were when the 'leak' dropped... like bruh my teenage sisters heard about and probably saw that shit , and seeing how drake moves around the little ones? shits wrong af
@@daEINSTEINkid1 To be completely honest if the daughter isn’t real I wish it wasn’t included because it overshadowed the far more damning allegations.
@pristinedecision1877 the crazy thing is i think Kendrick is standing on it all kendrick's disses are free of copyright on youtube right now, which is pretty well known now, but something very funny that i saw was a video called Meet The Grahams (No Daughter Verse) or something like that, and its the only video of any of them that's been dmca'd and like, its really not that hard to believe
I agree. Or at least put that verse before Sondra & Denis. Everyone was like "Pdf files? What?! Nevermind ask that did he just say baby girl?"@pristinedecision1877
Yup. Even Pusha T pointed that out during their beef. Drake has some questionable interviews regarding family. He believes being the labor room when a woman is giving birth is a waste of time for the supposed father.
I mean, yeah, before Pusha T exposed him he was going to use the unveiling of his son in conjunction with the release of his adidas shoe line. As soon as the cat was out of the bag, it was scrapped and he paraded Adonis around for a year to duck the deadbeat allegations.
Which everyone should find odd because he said his father left. So why do people have to look up his mother name but everyone knows and tired of Dennis? Like Pusha said Parades him.
6. He has 6. “Like that” was a feature. Drake came for that man. He dropped 4. So he have 6 more in stock. So if he came out the gate with these allegations so can y’all imagine what’s still in chamber. Kendrick wanted a friendly competition. But when u spoke on his family… gloves off. He said, “F a battle rap. This is a long life battle with urself”. He warned him…. But to make me believe Kendrick, 1, lying on these allegations is not his character & 2, when Meet the Grahams dropped, “Drake stupid ass only said, “if I have a long lost daughter will someone find her & bring her to me”. He never mention or defend the worst of the worst. A Pedophile….
In Euphoria...is it possible Dot said Drake doesn't have a classic bcuz he doesn't write his own lyrics? So Drake's "classics" belong to other people. This is probably a reach lol
That’s exactly what he would said and basically already said, and yes that is a big part of why he’d say drake doesn’t have any classics. It can still be a great album just not a classic
Same here! For years my friend group called me a Drake hater whenever we talked about hip hop. From the beginning he always was a fraud to me because all I could see him as was wheelchair Jimmy from that show my little sister liked to watch 😂. When he came out with started from the bottom I used to really clown my friends about dude being a suburban Canadian kid who had no real street sense. Turns out all these years our dislike and distrust for Drake was spot on.
Did Tupac bring receipts when he said “I F’d your wife” ? Nah. Rap battles have never been about receipts bs. If you have em that’s cool, but that’s just some a side dish of you’re still hungry after the entree. Think about the top 5 rap beefs/battles historically, what role did receipts play? Barely any. If you have some cool, but people been fixating way too much on that ish. It’s a rap battle not a gossip session in the high school parking lot lol. Overall drake made a HUGE mistake releasing family matters and slandering Kendrick and his family and friend
It’s because fucking your opps wife is trivial in comparison to saying someone is hiding yet *another* child, running a sex trafficking ring, is both a pedophile himself and associates with known sex offenders, and domestic violence accusations.
Actually yes 2 Pac had receipts bc he actually set Faith up. They brought her to Cali on the pre tense of getting paid for a song & had pictures of her with 2 Pac after the beef was happening. She talks about it on a documentary
@@pcmal1521 Actually, Faith said in an interview in 2022 that she was never in a room with 2Pac for any length of time. That the picture of her an Pac was at an event and it was others in the photos but they were cropped out. Either way, it was lie. One that haunts her still. And Pac won off that lie.
What’s great about the Tommy Hilfiger line also is that brand became successful by taking premade apparel and just putting its own label on it to side step the process.
Must be discussed and more importantly addressed! This battle addressed issues that can’t be simply stowed away as words once they were said. Hope you subscribe and check out the content on the channel!
I felt like Kendrick was saying he would drop what he knew like a snitch. I didn’t think he was saying Drake was a snitch at all. But just like a lot of what he said Drake started adding details. Kendrick said Weinstein in Meet The Grahams Drake says Epstein Kendrick says you like em young Drake says Millie Bobbie Brown
“I’m pushing P, you pushing PTSD” - Drake Kendrick ain’t miss that bar. “I still got PTSD” -K. Dot “Like that” “Fuck all that Pushing P”- K. Dot “Euphoria”
Is it quitting if Cole was asked to step aside in order for Kendrick to go directly at Drake? Even Kendrick articulates that Drake did Cole foul in Not Like Us. Following your theory, if Drake's plan was to pit Cole and Kendrick against each other, maybe Drake's false step was not considering that Kendrick and Cole were close enough that Kendrick could ask Cole to move aside and J. Cole would.
Important too that one of those classics was built heavy on The Weeknd's songs. So dissing him? Seems like Drake is trying to hide that he played a hand, a big hand in Drake's credibility and playability. Which could be what Kendrick means "you don't have one".
@@redisthecoolestcolour did you see the other vid where they uncovered what Aubrey been up to IRL? 🐶🐴🍕... K• really know and gave the clues to let Drizzy know he was DONE DONE!🤯😳😱
Excellent commentary fellas! This is THEE BEST analysis on social media. I’m not sure how old you gentlemen are, but your maturity shines through. & the thorough breakdown of the history of this beef is phenomenal! Your didactic approach to commentary has gained you a new subscriber. Keep going 💜
I honestly think Drake got all of his ‘intel’ from looking at instagram because he’s under the illusion that that is real life. Seems like he made the assumption that a comment on a post of a child, that was liked by the mother is ‘evidence’ of something illicit. Also, how does that reflect poorly on Kendrick? Why does Drake always attack a woman to get at their man??? It’s so grossly misogynistic. Then he made up the DV allegation because it was a rumor back in the day that Kendrick already addressed. I know I’m in the minority opinion on this, but ppl asking why Kendrick or his S/O don’t come out and deny it- why should they? He already warned you in Euphoria that Drake was going to lie on his family bc he heard Mr Morale and we already know that Drake’s comprehension level is questionable if he thinks Kendrick was the one that was molested. Kendrick referenced what a priority his kids were in both Euphoria and 6:16. If you are secure in who you are and don’t care much what the public perception is (Drake couldn’t relate) then a response isn’t warranted if you feel as though you already addressed it. Getting too defensive is just as suspicious… Drake defended himself by talking about Epstein (when Weinstein would’ve sounded the same and been what Kendrick said) and mentioned Millie Bobby Brown 🤔 in my opinion, he validated everything alleged while mocking and downplaying CSA survivors with that “touch my body” line. My biggest issue with Drake wasn’t even a point of attack. I bet it might’ve been used had this continued, but he is a horrible influence to young men with all the Stake bs. There are going to be people who suffer the same gambling affliction as him for the rest of their lives, and the fact that he stands to profit from their losses if they get hooked young is despicable. The audiences of the streamers he associates with are at a super impressionable age. Truly evil stuff imo- he only cares if it benefits him and doesn’t care about his audience or his impact AT ALL- they are only numbers to be consumed.
When you think about it it’s actually hilarious than Kendrick essentially tells drake “you’re not being a father to your son” , and drakes comeback is “of yeah? Well you’re being a father to a son that’s not even yours”😂😂 And like you said it cracks me up that It turns out drakes groundbreaking evidence for all his little theories is Dave posting a heart emoji on a instagram picture😂😂 oh and also Kendrick doesn’t follow his girl on his social media account that he literally never even uses lol
Both of you guys are spot on I think. Also, considering Drake's reading comprehension, I'm pretty sure I know exactly where he got the DV allegations from (in conjunction with the 2015 rumors). I think he really obsessed about Mother I Sober bc everyone was blown away by its brilliance, which is even funnier bc all his material comes from that song and We Cry Together. So he obsessively listened to that track and still missed basic points. It's right here: Mother's brother said he got revenge for my mother's face Black and blue, the image of my queen that I can't erase 'Til this day can't look her in the eyes, pain is taking over Blame myself, you never felt guilt 'til you felt it sober I had a hard time too but it's Kenny so ofc you gotta dig. I'm 100% sure he's getting metaphorical. What his mother suffered physically he inflicted on Whitney about his cheating. Literally the next verse as he's confessing he says: Intoxicated, here's a lustful nature that I failed to mention Insecurities that I project, sleeping with other women I mean Drake, lol, Mr Morale isn't even his most complex album and it all went over your head. Why did you think this was a good idea?
@@ghavindeonarain396 I completely agree with your interpretation of the lyrics but Drake, or his team, probably had motivated reasoning and only heard what they wanted to. That or he banked on the fact that his hardcore fans would never give it a second thought, bc he addressed it and that’s all they needed for permission to continue supporting him. The silver lining of Drake using that as ‘evidence’ is that a lot of people who thought that album was “boring” are revisiting it. I’ve seen a lot of new reactions to “Mother, I Sober” on my feed and every one of them finally gets why it was such a powerful album to those that invested time listening to it. How it’s about breaking the cycle of generational trauma by facing the pain head on. It makes that verse about “that’s why I made Mr Morale” when addressing the daughter in “Meet the Graham’s” much more meaningful if you understand the context. Kendrick bringing that up wasn’t going to make people look into it- but Drake mentioning it in the last response did… and that is a wonderful thing, even though I doubt that was his intention lol!
Drakes whole plan was propaganda. Drakes team said he had a track for four years. That AI track came out - Drakes camp said it was real. Drakes camp said Kendrick had an album coming in May and was going to drop his diss on that using the beef for sales. In retrospect, all that was false.
I love that this beef helped me discover your channel. You guys have the most nuanced and interesting takes on this whole situation. I don't know what it takes to get SuperChats turned on but I wanna send you guys a tip, keep up this good work.
The conversation about receipts NEVER came up until Drake got obliterated in MTG. He sends out a call to find this missing daughter but NOT to find evidence of him being a p3d0 or trafficking? Why? Because it’s very likely he has that mother locked down with paperwork so tight he’s absolutely sure that daughter will never be found. But if folks go digging too deep into the dark, horrific stuff he’ll lose his whole career.
There's no proof Drake doesn't have a daughter. If that woman has been hiding for 12 years, she's good at it. That's why he thought he could do it with Adonis.
I don't believe the DV allegations and really hope they're not true. As for the cheating, he addressed cheating on the mother of his children on Mother I Sober when he speaks on the 1 addiction he had which was sleeping with other women. It made him feel like he had super powers. Amazing song.
lol there’s no reason to believe any of drakes ish, he’s literally the only source for any of that. And it turns out his groundbreaking evidence for all his little theories is Dave dropping a heart emoji on a instagram picture😂😂 oh and also Kendrick doesn’t follow his girl on his social media account that he literally never even uses lol
@wearedecyphered The part when he is speaking about a HellCat ( Quavo has a song called Hell Cat and it's speaking about Jprince being affiliated with Take off Death. When he speaks about how they come on the internet and say Pray for my City. How Drake wants to be a killer like his Daddy. ..J Prince was asking people to pray for the City after Take Off Death. People thought it was a sacrifice and he had something to do with it.
I was born in Jamaica 🇯🇲 raised in America and I knew the god is good all the time and all the time God is good.. saying... 😂 You guys are the truth. Your break downs are exquisite and thought provoking. Keep up the good work.❤
this was one of the best dissection of the battle. worth the wait for part 2. love all the way from Long Beach Cali. subscribed and i can’t wait to hear more from the both of you.
This the first rap beef that people asked for receipts from. lol drake ain’t believable because he lies, and people believe what Kenny says, because he ain’t lied to us yet. It’s really simple man. Lol
Definitely. Love y’all’s show. One of the few that seems to have scoured them damn hip hop forums for research and not just regurgitating Twitter points. 🙏🏾
No one asked for receipts about the DV when Drake said it. Every comments section is full of Drake Stan’s still asking. It’s hypocritical and a campaign started by Drake to find this missing daughter to distract from the other scathing info that was said about him. Why not ask the internet to find proof of p3d0philia or trafficking?
damn man, the quality of these videos got so much better so fast, but the content has been clean the whole time. Love listening to your voices and hope your message reaches as many as possible
I definitely took the Gunna line as Kendrick saying he knows even more fuck sh*t on Drake than Gunna did to be free. I took it like Kendrick would be the snitch lol, which he effectively became on the last two songs in the beef
Lol you way off and you can't snitch on something that was already out. Drake went to the cops that's a snitch. Drake went to the jews that's snitching. In battle rap you talk about your opponents weaknesses. Drake be on that pedo stuff. Only people that are mad about kendrick speaking on it is other pedos
bro thank u for touching on that daughter part from MTG. i was telling my friends bro it dont matter if the girl is real or not might aswell be a fictional character to just get the point across in describing drake as a deadbeat and the fact that drake took that as bait and said "ye we planted the daughter" is 10 times better cause he got defensive like that.
I think I would remain a Kendrick fan if the allegations levied against him are true. I dont want to diminished the severity of DV. Those are horrible acts done by horrible people. What i am saying is that i would be able to forgive him if he works to better himself. Which is exactly what his last album, "Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers", is about; bettering himself and going to therapy. I think people should get an opportunity to better themselves and ask for forgiveness. The consequences might be that his next album WILL be viewed with a lense of distrust. I would hate to silence a voice that can weave and arrage words poignantly and make it into art. I was taught that good ideas stand or fall on their own, regardless of who said it. I think Kendrick Lamar's creative ideas and bodies of work are undeniable and i would be doing myself a disservice by not listening to what he has to say.
That’s a very mature and non-reactive perspective, I’m a fan. But there’s no reason to believe that that’s even remotely true. Do do you actually think if drake actually had a good reason or had some solid evidence of Kendrick doing that he wouldn’t have revealed it already? He 100% would have, maybe he even thinks he already did. But as it It turns out his groundbreaking evidence for all his little theories is Dave posting a heart emoji on a instagram picture😂😂 oh and also Kendrick doesn’t follow his girl on his social media account that he literally never even uses lol
@yomamma.ismydaddy216 I don't believe what Drake said at all. Nothing he presented is even close to evidence, imo. However, I don't know Kendrick personally. Unfortunately, a lot of artist are troubled individuals with their own trauma and demons they battle. Hell, I don't even know some of my close friends; not really. People are different behind closed doors and the probability of a rapper abusing the spouse or partner is significant.
Not to mention he took the whole party vibe away and the breath out of the room from family matters and made everybody sit down and reflect and take their club clothes off by playing meet the grahams.. and 2 hrs later released a club bop to say come on yall let’s party 😂🤣😂 and dance on this nic grave 😂
Great take I never thought of that.. he probably did think kdot vs cole would weaken kdot so much that he could just land the kill shot & be the king.. euphoria is also my fav it was literally the blueprint to this battle
I finally just finished the episodes...and I said exactly what you said at the end. This whole saga can be wrapped up by Dot's 'Mortal Man'. Wherever you land on Dot or Aubrey's side. Ingest that song and really think. It sums it up perfectly. Great, discussion. Thank you!❤

Yup he put the jumper cables on Cole to take the first blow.. he was gonna see how that went then try to come up with the better verse based off what they said. He wanted to watch & see Kendrick style and like you said Cole messed it up. Drake was still gonna try to even though his plan was messed up UNTIL he realized Kendrick had real damaging info. Drake was confident he could duck everything Kendrick said because it's already been said not catching the bars but once he did. He knew he had to walk away.
Aye, I gotta say, i just found these reviews recently, but they are incredibly profound. It's great to hear two fellow black men approach and discuss the rap battle with sense, and real perspective. Props to y'all.
I dont think kendrick lied about the kid. If u were gonna tell a lie like that purely for rap beef you wouldnt put a specific number on it like 11. Once u put a number on it you ruin the effectiveness of your lie because now people can do research and debunk it. I think eventually the truth comes out about the kid.
He didn’t. Him and his team don’t want to dox her out of respect for her and her mom. Can you imagine the media circus? It would completely upend their lives.

I don't think the higher ups were gonna let Kendrick drop those receipts bc Drake makes them way too much money! Hence, why they had that conversation behind the scenes to stop the rap beef after Drake dropped his last track. Great conversation guys, I really enjoyed the content 💯🔥
I hate people thinking the Gunna Wunna bar was eluding to Drake being a snitch. Kendrick was saying he could snitch so much that Gunna wouldn't hold a candle.
I think Kendrick would say that if you didn’t write your own raps than its not a classic. It can still be great music just not a classic in how he understands what a classic is

The end of your video saying if drakes allegation against kendrick beating his girl is true, then it will end kendricks career because hes virtuous is the dumbest thing ive heard out of all the breakdown videos ive been watching on yt so far. Rest of the video was really good though, going through all of kendrick and aubreys angles and strategies. But kendrick is not virtuous at all. he explained this on all his albums and then went deep into it on his last album about everything in detail, even his line about his girl leaving at the end of mother i sober. He is a cerebral rapper not a virtuous rapper. he is able to philosphize and then put it into an art form amazingly but that doesnt make him holier than thou. I dont understand why people keep making him out to be a saint when he even said himself he aint that shit. His toxicity and faults from a macro and micro standpoint of his life as a black man in america, how he has been able to mature past them and being able to put it down lyrically is what makes him one of the goats of rap and enabled him to win a pulitzer prize. Virtuosity is the last flag you can put on kung fu kenny. mr morale was about hope later after the damage has been done and how to become better not about being some moralist preaching. If kendrick busted his girl til she bleeding from the face then yea fuck him hes out. But he himself has never been virtuous. Philosophical and cerebral dont equal virtuous. Mackevelli was a bad guy from a moralists point of view but his philosphical writings were amazing too which is why so many rappers and fighters like mackevellis works
Having virtue doesn’t make you perfect nor a saint. Nobody is perfect. Why would you have to be saint to display virtue? His duality makes him complex , like we all are, and the virtue comes in seeking your better self. Mr. Morale is a clear example of him shedding some of his flaws in pursuit of his higher self…. How is that not of virtue ? We all make mistakes and fall short of God’s grace. The virtue lies in the earnest attempt.
Plus the younger gens never heard a lot of this info about Drake. So it's was like a recap to catch the young ones up before he went on to the next chapter. Kendrick had to get Everybody on the same page first!.
The snatching chains and burning tattoos is a reference from MMABS. He talked people hiding behind chains and tattoos instead of facing who their pain and discovering who they are. His whole theme was Drake not being who he is authentically and he needs to face himself. So, Kendrick was saying he is snatching chains and burning tattoos…which he took Drake an a therapy journey.
Mannn I just watched both parts and I must say, amazing videos pulling the lines from 10+ years ago and making a digestible timeline. I’d like to add to Kendrick’s point of drake leaking that D vid. I just finished my last year of highschool and when that video dropped, I heard it alllll week from girls in 9th grade to the ones in 12th they were drooling over drake even more after that. I do think he targets young girls and he knows what he’s doing. But then when someone calls it out he claims “why haven’t I been caught yet if I’m guilty” he may be good legally but the real ones know the agenda that he pushes. I’m looking forward to the video on the performance if drake wasn’t killed by the disses he’s definitely done after Kendrick done brought Compton together. Especially after drake said he gets more love in his city. Overall keep grinding nd I’ll be tuning in more often for sure
OAN, thank you guys for being very respectful of Kendrick's partner. I only listened to Family Matters one time. Today's youth doesn't seem to value relationships, or realize just how disgusting Drake's words were. To use the b word in association with this man's life partner and then singing that sexy red chant about "bend that a** over..." almost equating her with sexy red whom I do not know personally but the public persona she puts is not anything that a man wants a woman he loves and values to be equated with. I was very disgusted by that and the fact that more men haven't spoken out against that (I did hear you all mentioned how it was confusing as to whether Drake was in a beef with her or kendrick) it just shows me that a lot of men don't have healthy relationships with women. Men in healthy relationships are protective. I don't think Drake sleeps with children, I do think he dates exceptionally young impressionable for the power dynamic because of his insecurities. He does not view these women as having any value, and that is why he so easily devalues the women that he disrespects in his songs whether by throwing strays out at Serena or Megan or attacking the partner of a rapper he's beefing with. The same with the tackiness of him using the Tupac AI as well as buying the Tupac ring and the Pharrell jewelry. He doesn't respect legacy, those are merely things to him that he can now say he possess as a "flex". Why didn't he put them in some sort of Hip Hop museum where their historical value could be appreciated? A shining example of how he's not of the culture. Why would you disrespect a legend by putting fake words in his mouth? It leads me to believe that spectacle and shenanigans may have been what got Drake where he is and has kept him there, not authentic artistic vision.
Of course Drake is running a trafficking ring, remember when his friend did this?"
Drake has too much dirt to ever win a low-blow battle. even if everything is false.
YOU SMOKED THIS FXCKIN COMMENT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His low moral fiber and questionable antics made everything stick. Death by a thousand bars.

💯🎯
Perfectly stated. And is exactly why that's my favorite song too
The tonal inflections. A different version of ear worming- I literally love the mocking "what is it the braids?! You don't wanna work with me no more- OKAY!" Like it repeats in my head. Same with "Pusha Tee" line like the way he says "T" on REPEAT in my head.
Bruh, how Kendrick used his voice ALONE turnt his songs wayyyy up 🚀
truly an instrument. his tones dictated the energy in every line of every song. bruh even cleared his throat before he confronted drake moms haha
Yes drake was going to use Cole as a human shield and that's foul and i think cole knew it too. I respect cole for getting gone. Cole will return
If you don’t want to classify Drake as a PDF file then you can say at the very least he’s a groomer. Somebody who meets young girls n basically befriends them in hope of dating them once they’re of age.
For me, this was an excellent breakdown!
A couple of pointers:
1) People often forget how early Drake's hypocrisy starts.
You said a word then. Yeah when you add it all up, it almost makes you feel weird for ignoring it for so long
Nah, y’all didn’t get the importance of 6:16. 6:16 was released after Drake posted an IG story of Adonis looking in the mirror with the caption Mirror Time Crodie…Kendrick wanted to give Drake one more chance to switch gears and not go the family route. 6:16 was another warning saying I will go to war with you if you get personal and I’m letting you know I know what you are releasing and am prepared to counter it.
Truthfully 6:16 gets better ever listen. Changed how I view cole in retrospect too
@@Dracioarmagiain what way did it change your views about Cole?
@VizWorld_SIA100 so in 6:16 K clearly sounds like he doesn't want to destroy drake. He wants to be peaceful and seems to be looking for any way to not blow up drakes life. I can respect that. But if Cole has similar info to K, similar morals to K why didn't he ever move against drake? The contrast in how they moved bothers me
It was also perfect at allowing the audience and Drake to understand how important this war was to Kendrick. He's making it clear he's not taking this lightly and is attaching the music to his religious identity. It's awesome
@@Dracioarmagia interesting perspective for sure 💯

Classic album like that
@@virginmary3707 It means that as well.
Now THIS I can’t argue. Weeknd gave him album defining tracks on take care and PND did the same on NWTS. You’re right.
The funniest shit about the meat beating video is him bragging about it on “Family Matters” (we all know he leaked it himself), just for it to be used against him 30 minutes later on “meet the grahams” in relation to trafficking. 💀⚰️
He’s so inept it’s almost hilarious.
ngl hearing him make that joke in family matters i laughed initially but immediately felt a bit gross because of how kendrick recontextualized it.
And then i thought about the wide scale rammifications and how that one teacher talked about how chaotic schools were when the 'leak' dropped... like bruh my teenage sisters heard about and probably saw that shit , and seeing how drake moves around the little ones?
shits wrong af
It was also weird how he brought up children immediately after that line
@@daEINSTEINkid1 To be completely honest if the daughter isn’t real I wish it wasn’t included because it overshadowed the far more damning allegations.
@pristinedecision1877 the crazy thing is i think Kendrick is standing on it
all kendrick's disses are free of copyright on youtube right now, which is pretty well known now, but something very funny that i saw was a video called Meet The Grahams (No Daughter Verse) or something like that, and its the only video of any of them that's been dmca'd

He parades his son around like he does his father. He uses them as props.

Don't forget Kendrick has 5 more that we won't be getting. So we really were robbed of a classic diss album.
That’s the saddest part. Drake quit before he was finished
@@FindingPeace20 I honestly don’t think he has a true classic. Great but not classic. Also, take care was half of the weekends album.
That’s exactly what he would said and basically already said, and yes that is a big part of why he’d say drake doesn’t have any classics. It can still be a great album just not a classic
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that.

Same here my kids like him and would always tell me I was just hating lol they've changed their tune now tho
Drake is a few months younger than me. He's cringe af. Reminds me of that Chris Rock bit of being the old man at the club.
Elite levels of thoughtfulness here. That hour and change flew by. Thank yall.

Cole would.
Well kendrick people told Cole what kendrick was about to do and Cole choose to step down. Kendrick never told Cole to step down.
Important too that one of those classics was built heavy on The Weeknd's songs. So dissing him? Seems like Drake is trying to hide that he played a hand, a big hand in Drake's credibility and playability.
Which could be what Kendrick means "you don't have one".

It's right here:
Mother's brother said he got revenge for my mother's face
Black and blue, the image of my queen that I can't erase
'Til this day can't look her in the eyes, pain is taking over
Blame myself, you never felt guilt 'til you felt it sober
I had a hard time too but it's Kenny so ofc you gotta dig. I'm 100% sure he's getting metaphorical. What his mother suffered physically he inflicted on Whitney about his cheating. Literally the next verse as he's confessing he says:
Intoxicated, here's a lustful nature that I failed to mention
Insecurities that I project, sleeping with other women
I mean Drake, lol, Mr Morale isn't even his most complex album and it all went over your head.
He thought the heart emoji was a smoking gun because he is a whore. HE would do something like that. It’s narcissistic projection.
Drakes whole plan was propaganda.
Drakes team said he had a track for four years. That AI track came out - Drakes camp said it was real. Drakes camp said Kendrick had an album coming in May and was going to drop his diss on that using the beef for sales.
In retrospect, all that was false.
Every single thing it seems.
Kendrick told Drake using propaganda was gonna blow up on him…now look at him… quiet as a church mouse licking his wounds in the corner.

But if folks go digging too deep into the dark, horrific stuff he’ll lose his whole career.

this was one of the best dissection of the battle. worth the wait for part 2. love all the way from Long Beach Cali. subscribed and i can’t wait to hear more from the both of you.
That’s the take right there: not as much at stake for drake because he never stood on anything to begin with
This the first rap beef that people asked for receipts from. lol drake ain’t believable because he lies, and people believe what Kenny says, because he ain’t lied to us yet. It’s really simple man. Lol
I think it’s partly because of the Information Age we are in.
Cause TikTok already was building a case on him with weird behavior with younger women and minor girls.
Ak said Drake admitted to him he made the Dave Free stuff up on stream last week
Said he didn’t believe the “fed him info” story either and that he doesn’t know where the 11 yo daughter stuff came from either.
damn man, the quality of these videos got so much better so fast, but the content has been clean the whole time. Love listening to your voices and hope your message reaches as many as possible
The reaction era was a wild time. Go check out the pre - beef videos, quality was always high in those album breakdowns.
yall deserve more views than this. This was extremely quality content. Imma support yall boys going forward. Watched both parts back to back
It will all come in time ! Like subscribe and share the content, that’ll definitely help us grow
great job guys!
Much appreciated, hope you check out more from the channel
You guys killing it, very well articulated
This is a refreshing and dope conversation, new subscriber!
Much appreciated ! Stick around we got some great content coming
Same.
Nah
I'm so glad I found this channel.. Best one to break down this entire battle.. And yall r hilarious 😂😂 #NewSubscriber #KDotForPresident
bro thank u for touching on that daughter part from MTG. i was telling my friends bro it dont matter if the girl is real or not might aswell be a fictional character to just get the point across in describing drake as a deadbeat and the fact that drake took that as bait and said "ye we planted the daughter" is 10 times better cause he got defensive like that.
Mase seems like a Drake stan. Mase couldn't compete with Kendrick on his worst day, so he should have stayed silent.
This is the most accurate breakdown of this beef on social media
🤝🏾 that’s huge praise ! Much appreciated !
As an OG Fan, I fully support your closing message. It’s been 50 years and it’s time for the next gen to step up!
@yomamma.ismydaddy216
I don't believe what Drake said at all.
Maybe I’m just a hater but I think people gas up drakes discography too much
Not to mention he took the whole party vibe away and the breath out of the room from family matters and made everybody sit down and reflect and take their club clothes off by playing meet the grahams.. and 2 hrs later released a club bop to say come on yall let’s party 😂🤣😂 and dance on this nic grave 😂
word is Schoolboy Q called JC and told him he didn’t want no parts so he backed out the beef
This was an excellent discussion overall. So glad to have listened to both!
Thank you!❤
These 2 breakdown videos equal the true meaning of the line: 5% will get it. There are all these nuances that you guys have spotted that others havent, kudos to yall.
Much appreciated ! 🤝🏾
Brothers, this is an intelligent thought provoking hip hop discussion and I fuck with it. Hope you fellas are pushing this out to the masses for millions soon!
Much appreciated family 🤝🏾
This breakdown is epic, I’m glad I found this channel 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Much appreciated ! We are glad you’ve enjoyed the content.
I’m from d Bronx (30+ yrs)… and I tuned out a lot of d 2010s of hiphop I’m 37. I live day in n out in d og home of hiphop n d present byproduct good n bad… i see and feel the micro-macro (vice-versa) effects of d questions u posed at d end of the ep. N there r soooo many layers… I appreciate Kendrick (n Drake)for stepping up I think everything is timely…before we step out to address others we should definitely address the current state of affairs within (d house of hiphop) annnnnd b prepared for d intense fallout of alllll d bigger things happening to hiphop as a whole…. There will be too many fallen angels in d aftermath n the youngr 1s will hav to learn about idolization n how deceptive it can be… who r d ppl u admire aspire to b n r they really doin a service or disservice… Im so glad there r real folx outside n inside still doin d hard work s/o to ya’ll for providing safe spaces to discuss observe and b heard…. D overall great news is we outsideeeee stilllll aliveeeee n there’s so much more 2 b seen/said/done/experienced… hiphop is not dead.
THIS is the attitude we have to have as a collective to prepare us for what’s to come. Gotta be willing to shed that idolatry for the sake of our humanity 1st and genre 2nd. Hiphop can indeed be saved and hopefully we save ourselves in the process. 🙏🏾 peace to you
@@wearedecyphered I look fwd to future conversations! Small ripples make tides time we stay focused on our corners and intersections….
Been patiently waiting for Pt.2!!!🤗
Hope we didn’t disappoint !
@@wearedecyphered Not at all!! Will be looking forward to more videos from y’all!!!
Best breakdowns I have seen thus far, thank you for taking your time and preparing
I appreciate that!
I 1000% agree.
Aye, I gotta say, i just found these reviews recently, but they are incredibly profound. It's great to hear two fellow black men approach and discuss the rap battle with sense, and real perspective. Props to y'all.
Much appreciated !!
HipHipLivesHere
This was such an insightful conversation. I domt even listen to too much music but i had to subscribe! Great work !!!
Thank you !
Such a great show…so glad I found you!
thank you! we hope you stick around, we have some great content already on the channel and we got some great stuff coming
@@S.-bu2kgyears ago there was talk about Drake having a daughter. Someone congratulated him about it on an interview, and then there was talk of a lawsuit from a bartender or something that just went away. Kendrick didn't actually make any new accusations during this back and forth. He just used the info that was already out there. Those daughter rumors are not new.
Great breakdown, probably the best one I've heard
Wow, thanks!
I don't think the higher ups were gonna let Kendrick drop those receipts bc Drake makes them way too much money! Hence, why they had that conversation behind the scenes to stop the rap beef after Drake dropped his last track. Great conversation guys, I really enjoyed the content 💯🔥
I have really found my channel!! You guys are simply great!👍❤️
Thank you so much!
I hate people thinking the Gunna Wunna bar was eluding to Drake being a snitch. Kendrick was saying he could snitch so much that Gunna wouldn't hold a candle.
I said the same
Hope you like subscribe n check out the rest of the channel !
I think Kendrick would say that if you didn’t write your own raps than its not a classic. It can still be great music just not a classic in how he understands what a classic is
Best break down i’ve seen yet. My man seen angle’s and moves i would never have considered. I knew kdot had depth and thought to all his music but realizing the level to which he steps back analyzes and plans is crazy impressive
Big up these two Donny's . Can tell you know music by that collage of actual classic albums behind you .
Much appreciated ! 🤝🏾
@@wearedecyphered another reason lots of those albums are true classics.. They were pre Internet era...... No rhyming dictionarys or crazy music program plug ins helping you
So you had to lean on your own mind.. got creative, you said something true there.
@@wearedecyphered yeah bro ...the true lyrical guys from 90s ....had creative genius brains ..Biggie , Nas etc .....no rhyming dictionarys existed
I'm a songwriter and writing lyrics is much easier in internet era ...than before 100%
the fact that Drake made Honestly, Nevermind but talkin bout pride music is insane 😂
That Candice Owen’s analogy is crazy scary 🥴 like some get out shit😭
If yall keep up this level of quality yall are going to blow up as a channel. Keep it up yall!
I said the same thing! Drake wanted J Cole to fight his battle.
Edit: i can prove i made this point on other videos 😂
Plus the younger gens never heard a lot of this info about Drake. So it's was like a recap to catch the young ones up before he went on to the next chapter. Kendrick had to get Everybody on the same page first!.
The snatching chains and burning tattoos is a reference from MMABS. He talked people hiding behind chains and tattoos instead of facing who their pain and discovering who they are. His whole theme was Drake not being who he is authentically and he needs to face himself. So, Kendrick was saying he is snatching chains and burning tattoos…which he took Drake an a therapy journey.
Fire call back to MMTBS !!! Very possibly. If I reference this in our lyric breakdown I will credit you!
Yall brothers deserve honorary degrees for your work on this eventful year 🙏🏾
Mannn I just watched both parts and I must say, amazing videos pulling the lines from 10+ years ago and making a digestible timeline.
Your channel is GOLD! Seriously thank you!
Keep blessing🙏🫡
Thank you so much !! Stick around
This era don’t understand battle rap
All lies & truths don’t matter
It’s about lyrics, beat, delivery, and painting a story on your opponent
Intelligent, well organised discussion....so refreshing. Easu sub. Keep up the good work, gentleman.
Thank you , much appreciated !
