I'm 47 and started skating with my kids on the weekends at the rink. I used to love to skate when I was a kid and have found I still love it. It's nice to see other old guys enjoying the sport. I'm ages away from being able to do this, I can't even skate backwards yet. But you're an inspiration!

It is very cool to hear you started back up again and now are introducing your kids to skating! I only had gone skating as a kid maybe 3 times until Jazmine wanted to try it when I was 40. I remember not being able to skate backwards then and can laugh about it now. You will get there with practice for sure just keep with it! Thank you for your kind words.

Nice tutorial. This is one of my favourite skate moves 🙌🏽. That backwards to forwards part of the move is definitely the sticking point for a lot of skaters. It's also worth practicing balancing on the spot on you toes in this pigeon toe / knees towards each other position. And also rolling into this positon from a heel flare and back to toe flare. I found these drills helped me to build comfort and strength in this position. Then following on from that, as you mentioned, practicing this backward to forward part in motion ✌🏽
