I'm glad you've pointed out this very important issue. We have lived in abroad for almost 25 years. And now many of my relatives living abroad and facing this problem.. actually the main point is if the hearing of a child is better he'll speak much earlier and easier.
The families living abroad don't have many family members speaking all-around like yahan p Khala nano dadi Phuppo her waqt koi na koi Bache se baat krta rehta he chahe wo ek month ka hi kiun na ho.aur abroad mn mothers usually busy hoti hn household work mn to wo km interact KR pati hn. The only hearing aid kids get nowadays are cartoons, Jo k kuch silent hn baqi English ya arabic ya jis bhi country mn ap settled hn us language mn hn jiski bcha sunta to he lekin interpret nahi KR pata.wo ya to in characters ko mimic krk bolts he ya wo her chees silently manage krna seekh jata he. Bacha rota he to maen unki zarooriyat poori krdeti hn, ye easiestvway he Bache k liye k to k manwa Len Jo unko chahiye.

I too faced the same people in my life. My elder daughter started speaking at the age of 3 I was worried coz people used to ask me strange questions jiska mere paas koi jawab nahi hota.. Aur phir Younger one when she was just 1. Look every child is different from each other we cannot compare our child to others. Just ignore others u know ur child better then others.
