Saw this in the theater with my daughter when she was 3 and a dinosaur freak. Say what you will about the movie as a whole, but I got a huge lump in my throat at 1:40 and still do. The combination of the natural splendor and the music was breathtaking.
This is the movie that made me want to make movies when I was six years old. I will never forget that moment at 2:04. I really felt like i was flying in the theater. I mean say whatever you want about this movie but you can't deny that this music is incredibly epic.
Oviraptor. When the first fossilized skeleton of this dinosaur was found sitting on what was initially believed to be a Protoceratops nest in the Gobi Desert, paleontologists thought it was an “egg thief”. A few years later, however, X-rays of the eggs showed that they contained not baby Protoceratops but Oviraptor chicks. It turns out the legendary "egg raider" was actually a devoted parent.
That opening scene is Cinema. 1:39 it is impossible not to get excited with that soundtrack. Yeah, I was crying.
This song was so much more majestic than it had any right to be.

The music, cinematography, direction, animation and the flow of the scene is so epic and is one of the best openings to a movie I have ever seen.
For those curious, this was the trailer that played on the Tarzan VHS. Fond memory
Yeah, I remember that too.
This scene is a awesome, but we're all here for the music
Dr. Alan Grant: "They're moving in herds. They do move in herds."

Just imagine this scene with the 3D quality of How To Train Your Dragon or Avatar.
the flying scene made me expect how beautiful the dinosaur world
Easily my favorite scene in the movie and probably one of my favorite scenes of all time.
Same
I loved watching this scene on my Tarzan VHS tape
I Always watch Dinosaur when I was a Child.
I like that there's no dialogue no narration only dinosaurs being dinosaurs living their ordinary lives in the Cretaceous Period
brings back memories
This is like Jurassic Park without humans
Life find's a way.
Six 419 Expect some of the other popular Dinosaurs were originally planned for this & was cute at the final decision & production.
To me it was like another version of tarzan
Jurassic paark and Jurassic world are TRASH
@@isntjinlovely3841 if it weren’t for that “trash” movie, this film wouldn’t exist in the first place
James Newton Howard didn't need to go this hard for a dinosaur movie
its one of my best walt disnep movies EVER
When I saw this in the trailer as a kid, I was friggin' scared. It's the reason why I didn't want to see Toy Story 2 a third time.

Shame that all those majestic big ass dinosaurs all ending up getting owned by a meteor some time later.
Propaganda. Repent, the King is coming soon
i wonder if this served any inspiration for Soarin'.
This should be a Soarin’ Dinosaur ride in Animal Kingdom!
