First Paycheck, Gave it to my Mom and Dad. 2nd Paycheck, I ate Ramen, which is the food I wanted to eat the most, and man I cried like a baby when I ate the whole bowl up, still remember the waitresses who had me if I was "okay". Hahaha this might be cringe but it was estatic on being finally able to eat a meal with your hard earn money!
For my first paycheck, I'd only worked like... 3 days that pay period due to when I started, it was like $50. So I took my Mom and I to five guys and blew most of it there.
I've made that mistake. When you want something, wait. It'll lower In price In a few weeks. Happened to me when I bought witcher 3 for $50 and next week, it went down to $15. Dlc included
I can relate to that too... arcades, because that's the only real reason I have to going out or going to it when I'm done with school early. I hit the arcade to... unwind. It's mostly cuz of Monke that I got heavily into crane games
I saved my first six months of paychecks to take my mom and myself on vacation. I told her she deserved it and she was very happy and so was I. Hopefully I plan to do it again in the near future but with my younger siblings included
So proud of connor for getting a nice coffee machine with grinder. Best money I ever spent, went from coffee shop everyday to homemade everyday. Saved so much money overall and its light years better.
My first real paycheck was from working EDC and clearing 50+ hours over the entire weekend 😅 but I used that check to get out of town and go to my first out of state convention, Anime Expo 2013. The weekend may have been hell, but I’ll forever be glad for what it gave me
First paycheque: Gave it to my parents. Second paycheque: Bought and invested into some apparels for both at home and at work. Third paycheque: Bought a shoe and some socks, donated some refreshments for Ramadan. Also started saving some money. This month: Bought my first EDC knife and got hooked, planning to buy and order another knife and then save the rest of my money for my fourth paycheque.
First paycheck... I bought a new phone with it. Wasn't even a good one it was a mid tier android but android 8 had just come out and multi window was a cool feature. I could play a game and watch a gigguk video. It was pretty rad. I can remember the amount I got paid and my first job. But the rest of the details are hazy.
dude i'm with conner on that coffee machine. a proper coffee machine is a game changer for having relaxing mornings. nothing better than a good cup of coffee in the morning.
Tbh it does feel good when you decide to go out more often, especially since you'll tend to get really bored after just spending most of your days in front of a monitor. Idk if it's just me but I feel that way sometimes
7:27 the dyson supersonic hairdryer is a power one and very smartly created, I really want one to use it myself and then get bored over it and open it up to claim the motor for myself, I dunno make a rocket motor or a Supersonic RC with it.
my first job was being a paper boy and my paycheck was very low so it couldn't have been anything too spectacular but when the ps2 came out I save my checks for what felt like months to get one and it was an incredible feeling when I finally did
It’s honestly so weird to go from living where money is basically fictional to you to … less so. I remember my first job after college, I was like taking out the trash or whatever, maybe it was playing at the time, and I was like “if I was in Guns N’ Roses for an hour could I live on that for the rest of my life?” Like if I could somehow prove legally that I had to be paid out for whatever one hours worth is of all the royalties for everything over the years, just for going like “hey do you need somebody to be the singer until you get back from the bathroom?” like complete BS scenario, but I keep doing what I’m doing, keep thinking about this, while ‘legitimately’ trying to work out the “logistics” of all of this, I spend about 10 minutes continuing to work while legitimately considering all these factors, and it just kinda hits me at some point like: “I have a job.”
For my first paycheck, I payed for college and then some house bills. My for my first personal purchase with my own paycheck, I bought a lime green gameboy color.
I can't fully remember, but the first significant thing I did buy was actually a 3DS so I could jailbreak it. After that I bought parts for a new PC, then as of recently a "new" car and a VR headset. Everything else has been me buying games and random junk, paying bills, and lending/donating any spare cash.
I don't like spending money on anything except food. Show on Netflix? I'll watch a filtered reaction vid. New videogame? Time to watch my favorite Let's Players. New pop culture defining movie? I'll watch video essays and Frankenstein the movie together in my head from clips online. Everything is so expensive lately, who could blame me? "You wouldn't download a car?" God, I wish. If it were possible to download a car, I'd do it on a heartbeat.
First paycheck from like a proper job, after graduating? Brought my parents out for a meal and gave them a little sum they can spend on themselves. First big ticket item for myself was before that, I saved up for a laptop to use in University. But seriously, broke college kid? Rice cooker. Rice is a cheap carb and goes well with most saucy dishes (there are entire meals built around rice and preserved stuff+jarred pickles). Freezes well, and fried rice is a dish you can throw almost any leftovers in and make it work. Rice cooker ensures your rice cooking is fuss-free and consistently delivers good results.
Does freelance paycheck allowed? With a help from my brother and cousin I bought a fuckin computer, all my 12 years of using a computer I'm always limited with 2-4 gigabytes of Ram and office grade GPUs and I remember loosing my mind over how SSDs make your computer boots for like a second

@Faisal Sultan I was at like 16 bucks, I think, but it was really short training days when I first started.
