Sometimes a break up can be exactly what you need in life to help push yourself forward and focus on what you can do to better yourself. It hurts like hell, but it doesn't always have to be a bad thing.. the fact you can see that shows how mature you are and it sounds like the guy was the exact opposite. btw love the sweatshirt!
Breakups help us learn what we don't want for the future, they also help us appreciate what we have when we have it... although it really super sucks getting dumped. One of the worse feelings... just gotta pull ourselves out of the pit of despair and we can come back stronger :) Thank you for sharing this story!
Wow! That’s some serious maturity for someone your age. Many people never learn those lessons. That guy had way too much baggage for you to carry. Be careful about any tendencies to become the caretaker in a relationship without reciprocity.

Yea, this is the most opaque part of relationships. It's hard to find out if you are compatible long-term, and there is basically no way to find out unless you get into another one. You can befriend someone and get a good idea... but living together and stuff like intimacy are a completely different level that you can't really know beforehand.
Del, thank you for sharing your story and enlightening us on how you have used this negative situation to form a positive spin on your life. I have dealt with the deaths of my parents, encountered health issues, job issues but none of them every compared to the pain of dealing with a breakup. Yes, they are extremely unpleasant but they can teach us much about ourselves. Keep up the good content on your channel!
Yeah breakups are really painful, but they really can be a good learning experience and also a good opportunity to grow as a person. Thank you, I'm glad you liked the video!
Stay strong in this journey Del's Diary. My breakup just encouraged me to better myself and go to the gym even more and focusing on my mental health. Breakup does sucks but it would be fine. Menards is a Midwestern thing. I work at Whole Foods Market now and i love it because I do my side gig doing UberEats and DoorDash.
I went through a horrible breakup in November 2023. I was basically depressed all of 2024. It took a lot of self reflection and work but now I am probably the most happy and peaceful I have ever been. I think the hardest part was accepting that it was over and learning to be alone. Now I really enjoy my time alone and I think its helped boost my self esteem too! I'll never accept someone that treats me the way *she* did again! Thanks for sharing your story :)
i've been thinking something similar to this recently. more specifically: 'you grow through experiences'. but if you never have any experiences you'll never grow at all, which is where i find myself. i will be turning 28 this year but i havent evolved or grown since i was 21, even a year before the pandemic. i have just been living the same life of work, sometimes gym, gaming, sleep and repeat. no relationships, no dating, nothing new. ever since the pandemic got cleared up i've tried getting out there, doing more stuff, getting new experiences, traveling etc. but nothing is working and i just feel disconnected from existance and stuck, unable to grow. maybe i'm stupid or weird but i somehow feel jealous of people that have experienced heartbreak, because that means you experienced something good in the first place.
You're right about adjusting to being alone first. Learning how to function by yourself and making improvements to your life takes the pressure off of future date/spouse since nobody can literally be someone's "everything." It also boosts your own confidence and belief in yourself. For some this comes easily, for others it takes a while. Congratulations on all the progress you've made!
This is helpful. Me and my girlfriend now ex girlfriend broke up like 2 days ago. I’ve been keeping in good spirits so far but I know in a week or two I will start to become depressed. There’s a few projects at home I’ve been neglecting because I’ve been “too busy” well now I have the time to do them :)
Wow, the guy's attitude was just pretty bad. It was really great, however, how you understood the entire situation and turn it into a growth experience. I've been practicing solitude for the past 6 years and I really feel like it is a must have to really shield yourself to most situations, especially when Love is being involved. I would not recommend doing it to the degree that I did, but it seems to me that a great amount of it can go a long way. Your example, Del, is great!
Thank you so much! I think that solitude can be a good thing as long as it's not taken to too extreme of a degree, but I understand why people take it to the extreme though.
@@diaryofdelilah Well, I think it depends on why someone is on solitude. It is one thing to do it because you found something so great that can be just as strong as Love like academic research or active intellectual life, helping strangers with charity or volunteer work (being a monk or priest sharing wisdom counts), protecting your family, making the world more prosper with Arts, such as dance, painting, and music. It is another thing because the previous experience with Love generated Fear and Hatred towards something so deep and beautiful. The former can actually make a loveless life purposeful, whilst the latter can't; it becomes an anxiety and depression generator. For anyone potentially feeling the latter alternative, I beg you to take the following chorus to the heart: " Dry my, dry my eyes Bleed what, bleed what lies Beneath my, 'neath my fragile skin And refine my design Dry my, dry my eyes And keep my mind aligned Beneath my, 'neath my fragile skin I'll refine my design. I would say my greatest stretch of self-improvement came from unexpected heartbreak. It was awful in the moment, but so much growth, self confidence and self discovery happened because of it. Making the best of a bad situation is the best thing you can do for yourself.
I was heartbroken by guys into i found the right husband in my life. Menards is my husband's Midwestern dream as well. I was born in 1979. We was basically the party generation coming up. I would be turning 46 this year in June.
I went through a breakup last year April and had a very rough time. Summer wasn’t as happy as it could’ve been but I made the best of it and hung out with family and friends more. It gave me so much motivation to change though and I honestly love that. I’m still not 100% through with it or anything but I’m doing so much better now which is just a pretty cool feeling.
I was devestaed and betrayed by my ex. Had me move in with her, had to leave my job cause I was moving cities. I also spent all my savings to move in with her, then she threw me out on the street, like garbage. Literally 2 weeks into living there. Right when I ran out of cash. Almost planned..... I was homeless alone and ruined. But now I have new friends and amazing people, and I have a stable living situation, and I've made a movie. None of that would have happened without her doing that to me. Hopefully I don't have to keep being alone, but her leaving me was in the end a good thing. People just don't stay loyal and want to work through things anymore Del. You deserve someone who really loves you, like you loved him.
I am really sorry to hear that happened to you! I truly do not understand how people do these things...I'm really glad that you were able to turn your life around though! And thank you so much!
I can understand the pain you felt at that time, especially if this is your first love. Because I am the "i" person hhh. Sometimes the other person is unwilling to communicate, which leads to us not understanding the whole situation. This will cause us to be anxious and make us look for reasons from ourselves, but in fact, we may have done nothing wrong. From my point of view, this boy loved you at the time, including not asking you to help him move for free before breaking up. He may be very clear about his psychological problems, but he just doesn't want to drag you down and wants you to live a better life in the future. He is actually not bad. These are my rational analysis. I don't mean to speak for him because he didn't actively communicate at the time (he had psychological problems at the time and couldn't communicate in fact). Because I don't understand the situation, please forgive me if I say something wrong. But let the past go. It's no help to linger on it or feel sad. This is my analysis. I hope it can help you. I am also very happy that you can grow from it. keep going and look forward and be a better self!

Unlike s1mpś in your comment section Ill have to disappoint you, your take on this is classic NPC self improvement bs. Heartbreaks and trauma can build men, but they destroy women especially if the guy had an imprint on her. More and more breakups for women means emotional baggage for every new relationship and losing the ability to pair bond. Women with high bödy counts become soulless and are likely to divorce their husbands, and they are disgusting to every sane guy. For alphas, (for the men you truly desire), a woman is also a conquest. If they are not your first, if someone has already conquered you in the past, they wont feel special / like they have something to fight for. Stop sleeping around with every guy you find cute, let your father have a say in choosing a good man and never break up again, otherwise you are going to be another victim of feminism.

@@diaryofdelilah holy shit, ya IT is much better than that lol. As a C# dev you should be fine for the most part. Most jobs are Java, C# or some niche technology SAS, SAP, Salesforce. With a Bachelor's in CS + internship you should be able to find a job in 3 - 6 months. I live in EU, it took about that long for me and my friends to find our IT jobs. US has more opportunities and bigger tech companies, I think you'll do just fine.
I like your videos, i watched not all of you but i am heard of hearing (cochlea Implantat) and i am not perfect at understanding und writing with english, but i like your voice because it‘s so calming. My experiences were not good with dates and have never got an relationship at 32 with girl or woman. Do you think a guy with cochlea Implantat is a problem? What do you think? I dont know if you know about that but you can google it. It would cool if u answer my comment. Sorry for english i come from Germany and i am a bit shy. 😅
I'm glad that my voice is calming to you, thank you for watching my videos! And yes I know what that is and I don't think that is a problem at all.
@@diaryofdelilah thanks for your comment. Okay, i think i should keep trying with online dating, i know it‘s hard and to adress outsides i don‘t want to be creepy oder something 😄

Hi!
Every girl after a breakup goes to a gym. That's an instinct.
The gym is truly a therapy unlike none other

You’re not exactly private, sharing all this information to the public. If you’re looking for another guy, you only have hundreds of thirsty guys in the “struggles dating as an introvert” video

Hi
Hello!
👍🏽
You were the first commenter yet again. Appreciate you!
Cute girl. Cars though I hate.
You seem fun.
