Hi, everyone. Just in case you can't find it on the market. If you want to buy tofu sheets, look for the vacuum sealed packages in the refrigerated tofu section in your local Chinese or Asian grocery stores. Thank you for watching this video!
Hey :) maybe you could have a look? This is the tofu skin I've seen in my local asian supermarket. www.zing-asia.co.uk/country-cuisine/8651-Dali--Beancurd-Sheet.html It's dry and not in the frigde. It's not the right one then? Even when I soak it before? I would like to try your salad recipe too. Thanks a lot 😊
This was wonderful. I added less salt to the second recipe and added a few drops of liquid smoke. Definitely a keeper. My non vegan friends loved it also.
Just came across your channel and this vid. This is such a simple and fantastic recipe base!!! I made it last week and now it’s on repeat!!! To play with different flavorings. I didn’t have these sheets so used a mandolin to slice a vacuum pack of super firm tofu. I didn’t have beets handy so used beetroot powder instead. And I added some hickory liquid smoke, garlic & onion powders as well. And tamari in place of soy sauce. It was fantastic both hot and cold. I heated some on stovetop after with bbq sauce and dairy free cheese. Delish all around! Thank you for such a simple quick weekly recipe for the fridge! 🙌
This is excellent - thank you! I finally learned about Tofu sheets today and went to a Chinese supermarket this afternoon to buy some for using in recipes but had no idea about using it for plant based deli meats - what a cool idea! Thank you. I'm looking forward to exploring the rest of your channel xx
Now, off to try to find tofu sheets; I highly doubt that I can find them here in Switzerland; never saw them in the Asian store, but will try again ;-))) ... and great knife you are using ;-)))
I hope this will work with the dried ones as well. I had this idea after eating them in hot pot and just found this video. The only vegan deli slices I have liked were Lightlife chickpea ones and they seem discontinued. So excited to make this!
This is a fantastic tutorial. We buy so much veggie deli slices from the store. Would love to try making them at home. Unfortunately we don't have any Asian groceries in the small town we live in... but will definitely look out for them when we're out and about. New friends here :)
Veggie deli slices out there are really expensive. Hope you can find this type of tofu and give it a try! Cheap and healthier too! Thank you for watching this video😊
This it's so interesting, never knew a vegan alternative to Deli ham 😊, I am going to try it ! Can I ask if the raw beet root it's just for colouring ,? can omit or any replacement alternative ?
I haven’t tried this, but I’m guessing it adds a bit of an “irony” taste on top of the coloring, which is good for meat alternatives (well I know that’s why beet powder is used in some vegan cooking at least)
Is the texture supposed to be tough like leather? I tried making something with tofu skin sheets before, but it was very tough. Is it supposed to be, or did I prepare it incorrectly?
That's amazing!! Can I make wraps with the tofu skin ?? It the first time I see this ,looks very interesting, would you have other recipes with the tofu sheets?? What else can we do with tofu skin?? Thank u so much 😊keep up the good work !!!
I mean, why not :D the sheet in the video seems big and sturdy enough. Sometimes all that's holding us back is what we think a food's use is limited to ☺️
I will check my local Asian stores, but any chance you know of a place to buy them online? I see a few options but I’m not 100% it’s the same thing as a lot of them say they are dried
This type is fresh, just like tofu. I don’t think it’s easy to get online~ It’s available in pretty much every Chinese grocery store in my city. The dried ones is the films formed on hot soy milk surface, it’s a different type... Good luck for your tofu sheets hunting!
Unfortunately, this is impossible to make, because most of countries don't have that kind of tofu sheets. Try sometimes something more affordable to find :)

Oh. I just saw a comment of you. So it's definitely not the same.
Is this different from tofu skins or yuba, because that is all I could find, but it looks thinner, smooth and very different.

They are sometimes labeled as "bean curd sheets" or "bean curd skins"
I get mine in the freezer section.

I plan to try by just thin slicing tofu..

Really like your video's. Any chance you can do one on how to use dried bean curd? Thanks
Thank you! Yes, sure to share yummy recipes with bean curd skins including the dried ones in the future 😃
yaayaa!!! Love you.
I’m impressed, it looks so good.
Thanks Sarah. They taste so good too! 😋
Is the beetroot for flavor or just for color?
But where I can buy this tofu sheets.
Missing your videos 🥺
I cannot find these anywhere! Any suggestion on where I can find this type of tofu/bean curd sheet? So excited to try. Thanks 🙏 ☮️💟
Asian grocery store in the dried food section usually. Where the mushrooms, different noodles are. Try that section.
I have found them frozen before, but never had a recipe that called for them until now!

looks yummy! Japan is tofu country but we don’t have this. Whhhhhhy.....?
That’s interesting...
looks good, but no way to get the fresh tofu sheets!
Please, are these Gluten free?

You can make your own tofu skin just by boiling soy milk
Who ate all the cappa cola?
Idk but the sham wow in the drawer is missing...... oh that yeah i made a sammich outta that 😂
WTF is cappa cola?
this looks like cloth absolutely not
i dont like beets i actually hate beets its nasty and earthy
The beats are simply for the color. You do not taste them at all.
Looks like an old washcloth 😷
