This is one of the best series that I've watched in a long time. And I love Ruyi and the emperor's characters. It was always sad that the
emperor aways seem to punish Ruyi for some reason but he loved her the most. The emperor just didn't want to admit his faults and in the end, he he ended up being alone.

That is true. However, it's a reoccurring theme that multiple women who have died have said. The concept though, even though she's just greedy, is true. Even Ruyi and Hailan had to come to terms with it eventually. Being in the harem forces these women to do things that they would never consider doing. Having to deal with the pressure of your family or your clan or an entire country on your shoulders, makes you do things that you would never consider doing. Yanwan was greedy, but Jia, Hui, and the first empress all had no choice. This is also the reason why the empress dowager gives Ruyi that name. Because being in the harem means that you will not be able to maintain virtue.

I can't believe Emperor support ling over Ruyi the whole time
He was a weak man it would seem who was easily deceived or like Ling said she learned some of her ways from him. He was too stubborn, ill tempered and acted like more of a follower under his mothers orders and the fear of angering his father to think for himself as a youth so when his time came he couldn't be decisive.
To be fair, what ultimately be fell him is exactly what his father warned him about, which is that as emperor, he cannot just do whatever he wants to do and get whatever he desires. In a way, just like Ruyi, he was seeking freedom. Becoming aware of the empress dowerger trying to manipulate him by inserting women in the harem, becoming aware of all of the heinous acts that the first empress was tied to, eventually learning how far different women in the Harem will go to see to their own goals, he rightfully felt paranoid and penned in. Therefore, the first person to grant him freedom, which was what Ruyi always offered him, he took that. It just happens to be that he forgot the lesson from his father and even the lesson that Ruyi was trying to teach him, which was that he can't always get what he wants.
