Then after face pulling he allows the extremely deadly sorcerer to free cast on him for about 1,600 damage. This is a former rank one who literally pillared around as his job. He took no defensive action, even though he knew 5 mobs were about to go airing the corner. “Very complicated situation I have no idea what happened there.” Only thing that could have saved him there is the MT blowing his aoe taunt or them blowing aoe fear and running out.

You los it like wake was doing and the battle mage will run up in melee range then you all focus it to instantly kill it. This death is a good lesson to everyone in the guild that when your tank is los'ing not to stand in between the tank and the mobs

If you watch the entire dungeon, he almost died like 3 or 4 other times. He was basically playing as a DPS instead of a tank during the whole thing, sitting in zerker, no shield, no LOS, no demo shout on bosses, etc lol
He wasnt supposed to be, but he was acting as one at times. Wake told him to pull back, and instead moved in front him and started DPS'ing when the tank hadn't built enough threat @fallout28

He BLOODRAGED into SWEEPING into WHIRLWINDED the 4 mobs that HAD NOT BEEN HIT BY THE TANK YET, at 80% HP because he took an arcane bolt from the caster to put him at 80% hp... so it wasnt 100% to zero, it was roughyl 80% and a bunch of dumb decisions to zero.
He literally got warned about not going in to Zerker stance so many times in the days leading up to his death, super fucking crazy he just ignored the one thing that would have saved him.
There was a chance to save him but in reality after that nova that was used he would have gotten aggro from all those mobs and he would have probably have died anyways Zerk stance is 10% more damage so there might have been difference or not

He did a bloodrage and a sweep whirlwind outside of los before the pull was established. It’s nobody else’s fault the nova did nothing he had threat already
tyler is a living example of 'hurt people hurt people'. after having a few bad moments that he caught a lot of hell for, he returns hell when someone else gets the death.
T1 has done well for a new player, caught onto the game better than most, that said he's had more help than most people would ever receive from the best players around and vanilla is the special education class in terms of difficulty compared to later expansions
The real problem is the wotlk expansion. That was when blizz first nerfed everything so much people no longer needed CC. Pull 20 mobs and aoe it all down even in heroics. By the time cata came out people didnt have have CC abilities on hotkeys anymore.

Being in defensive would have been effectively 20% less damage, minus the 10% penalty from Berserker and bonus 10% from defensive. On each attack that would have been enough for a power word shield, pot, heal, and the nova holding the mobs out of melee range from further hits.

If someone wants to find out how much damage he would've taken in defensive stance, they need to lower the values by 18.2%, not 20%.
not gonna talk about the maths, but the truth is here, 2 warriors, a bunch of elites, d stance, demo shout, shield, frost nova, etc while Summit barely had time to react, someone did just after his death with a target dummy, d stance, a shield and a demo shout would have saved a few precious seconds to react. No LoS no D stance, sure others can prevent the death but soda can also do it himself and not rely on others being his protection(which is usually how many of them die) and just LoS and play smart instead of zerking in the middle of an entrance to a hallway
That one sorc did a fire blast right after the missiles, totaling 1.6k damage by them self. LoS is the only clear thing that would save him here, defensive stance the second. Actually, first would have been to split aggro with the other warrior. Asking Vei to not shield him is probably 4th.

Yep, 3600 damage after the renew tick at 71% health within 0,6 seconds. With defense stance that would be closer to 3300 damage. How much health does he have? Because that is a lot of damage. But every melee hit could have been mitigated more with a shield.

Back in my day people didnt go fury/prot or tank with 2handers. it was sword and board full deep prot and you waited for sunders and liked it. modern wow mentality is what caused this death.

lol Soda had already for sure with 100% certainty aggro of 4 of the 5 mobs. He probably also had aggro of the 5th mob - and even if he didn't have it, and Wake had it aggroed, frost nova probably wouldn't make it change target. Noob brain analysis from Soda if he thinks Frost nova was a significant factor - besides, he died 0.2 seconds after nova was cast. (edit: the nova animation was still going on when Soda died) If they wanted to blame the mage, they should say "why didn't the mage sheep the battle mage in the back?"
did he watch the full react. He wasn't on zerker stance for a quick second, literally had it on all the time. Both warriors do not use demo shout and soda almost died three other times that same run. Saying the death was highly debatable and not easy to dissect is insane.
The nova absolutely did not matter. You were the only person in range and had all the agro already. Nova done nothing. You got stacked out by hard hitting mobs. The battle mages and monks in that corridor are dangerous as hell. They CHUNK! Always cc on those packs
If he los the caster and demo shouts the melee he lives and has aggro. Then he could pool rage for sweeping strikes whirlwind. He really needs to use demo shout more tbh
Soda took aggro and didn't LOS, there's nothing more to disect, it's really that simple. 100% his fault and 100% avoidable if he were paying attention.
I want to point out, that the mage had zero intention of ever sheeping a mob. That's not good in this situation. Mage could have sheeped the battle mage which was way in the back. But he didn't. If he did, Soda would probably have lived. But I'm not blaming the mage for Soda's death. The group leader / tank (wakewilding) [edit: Wake couldn't mark because Soda was the group leader] should have marked sheep and told the mage to sheep. And Soda shouldn't be face tanking in berserk stance while not using shield and while being in line of sight. Besides, as the dps, you're not supposed to zugzug-brain and go 2h arms sweeping strikes whirlwind dps mode here. DPS is not supposed to aggro all the mobs, DPS is supposed to avoid aggro.
To be fair to the mage, he did mention about poly ten minutes before going into these packs with battle mages. Soda said it will be fine and it’s too slow. Last boss before he died was a warning, he ignored it.

Yea, even with defensive stance he'd probably of been overkilled by 300ish damage not counting the nova. Best way to maintain threat off Vei and live would be potioning at 80% hp but that isn't really intuitive. Potion at 80% then get a Power word: shield and hope the healing threat offsets Veis threat; Tbh with the priest out of proper LoS of the casters the travel time might of saved Sodas life if there was some ripping of threat by Vei. Rehearsing some early hp pots into a PW: Shield=>Fade combo could be a useful duo tech.

T1 has done well for a new player, caught onto the game better than most, that said he's had more help than most people would ever receive from the best players around and vanilla is the special education class in terms of difficulty compared to later expansions
This game was actually easier before dps meters. We could actually sap and poly and focus one target at a time.

The real problem is the wotlk expansion. That was when blizz first nerfed everything so much people no longer needed CC. Pull 20 mobs and aoe it all down even in heroics. By the time cata came out people didnt have have CC abilities on hotkeys anymore.

Being in defensive would have been effectively 20% less damage, minus the 10% penalty from Berserker and bonus 10% from defensive. On each attack that would have been enough for a power word shield, pot, heal, and the nova holding the mobs out of melee range from further hits.

55/45 is 1.22... so 55 is 22.2% more than 45 (22.2% more damage taken in berserker compared to defensive)
Conversely 45/55 is 0.81818... which means 45 is 18.2% less than 55 (18.2% less damage taken in defensive stance than berserker stance)
The point of reference isn't having neither stance active, it's having one or the other on. If someone wants to find out how much damage he would've taken in defensive stance, they need to lower the values by 18.2%, not 20%.
not gonna talk about the maths, but the truth is here, 2 warriors, a bunch of elites, d stance, demo shout, shield, frost nova, etc while Summit barely had time to react, someone did just after his death with a target dummy, d stance, a shield and a demo shout would have saved a few precious seconds to react. Asmongold said it, wear a shield.

No LoS no D stance, sure others can prevent the death but soda can also do it himself and not rely on others being his protection(which is usually how many of them die) and just LoS and play smart instead of zerking in the middle of an entrance to a hallway
That one sorc did a fire blast right after the missiles, totaling 1.6k damage by them self. LoS is the only clear thing that would save him here, defensive stance the second.
Actually, first would have been to split aggro with the other warrior. Asking Vei to not shield him is probably 4th.

I personally would CC one of them, or ask a mage to if I were tanking (I like not dying,) but most HC players are often...well, hardcore, and think doing it is too slow and almost won't even consider it.

Yep, 3600 damage after the renew tick at 71% health within 0,6 seconds. With defense stance that would be closer to 3300 damage. How much health does he have? Because that is a lot of damage. But every melee hit could have been mitigated more with a shield.

He probably also had aggro of the 5th mob - and even if he didn't have it, and Wake had it aggroed, frost nova probably wouldn't make it change target. Noob brain analysis from Soda if he thinks Frost nova was a significant factor - besides, he died 0.2 seconds after nova was cast. (edit: the nova animation was still going on when Soda died)
If they wanted to blame the mage, they should say "why didn't the mage sheep the battle mage in the back?"

I want to point out, that the mage had zero intention of ever sheeping a mob. That's not good in this situation. Mage could have sheeped the battle mage which was way in the back. But he didn't. If he did, Soda would probably have lived.
But I'm not blaming the mage for Soda's death. The group leader / tank (wakewilding) [edit: Wake couldn't mark because Soda was the group leader] should have marked sheep and told the mage to sheep. And Soda shouldn't be face tanking in berserk stance while not using shield and while being in line of sight. Besides, as the dps, you're not supposed to zugzug-brain and go 2h arms sweeping strikes whirlwind dps mode here. DPS is not supposed to aggro all the mobs, DPS is supposed to avoid aggro.
To be fair to the mage, he did mention about poly ten minutes before going into these packs with battle mages. Soda said it will be fine and it’s too slow. Last boss before he died was a warning, he ignored it.

If Wake was the tank, it was poor leadership to not pass the torch of leadership to Wake.

Yea, even with defensive stance he'd probably of been overkilled by 300ish damage not counting the nova. Best way to maintain threat off Vei and live would be potioning at 80% hp but that isn't really intuitive. Potion at 80% then get a Power word: shield and hope the healing threat offsets Veis threat; Tbh with the priest out of proper LoS of the casters the travel time might of saved Sodas life if there was some ripping of threat by Vei. Rehearsing some early hp pots into a PW: Shield=>Fade combo could be a useful duo tech.
