i wash it a couple times with fabric softener and it feels way better after :)
They are actually pretty soft! I found once I washed them a handful of times they do tend to wear

Do the sweats or hoodies shrink?
All cotton shrink in the dryer so I would hang dry them and they should be okay!
Do they hold well after many washes?
The Gildan brand is great. The more you wash them, the better they get and yes they last!
Yes I've washed mine a handful of time and are still in good condition!
