Absolutely incredible work. I love the big brands as much as anyone, but it kills me that they can rake it in they way they do coasting off of 50-60 year old designs while there are craftsman innovating and pouring everything into their creations like this. That's a 10/10 in my book. Unfortunately outside of my budget, but worth every penny they're charging none the less

@@dakotaasher2196 Exactly. The standard for Gibson is "good enough". They know that most people buying their instruments don't have experience with the golden era 50's-mid 60's originals. Gibson as a company is a pale comparison of what it was during the McCarty years.

Beautiful guitar. The overall shape is appealing for sure. The headstock needs something else to stand out. The pickups are nice but I prefer more bass in the tone. You should do more custom builder reviews because this episode was fun!
The sound of this guitar is reminiscent of Tele, LP and SG all at the same time. I can imagine Jimmy Page would have loved one of these back at the time Led Zeppelin were at the peak. A fabulous instrument. The company deserves success in the future.
I am absolutely blown away by the craftsmanship of this guitar. Just when I think it can’t get any better, it does. Keeping these guys in my thoughts and hoping they stay safe. Edit: This very well may be my favorite guitar that you’ve ever featured on your channel aside from that blue Artisan
2 guys building guitars that far exceed the quality of what Gibson is outputting. Extremely impressive work! These make custom shop Gibson's look like a student model Kay you would purchase at Sears.
If is right...thats why Austin didn't rave about this one more. Gibson isn't even able to make something this nice. They just don't have the ability. Not even in the custom shop. Sadly
And they’d only make a small amount so players can’t get them, just collectors. I’ve always been a Les Paul fanboy, but switching to PRS. and Valiant once the bs is over. Hope they’ll make a Valiant Victory just like this.
Wow! That is beautiful. Love the colors and the detail work. Wondering if the handle of the case is set towards the heavier body of the guitar, when cased, so that it is balanced when loaded?
This guitar is waaaaay more badass than any Gibson or Fender production or custom shop guitar!! Just my opinion of course but I own a Fender Ultra and a Les Paul and this is sick
Leave it to Trogly to say he doesn’t really care for the finish of it or the headstock when every Gibson he’s ever had on his channel has never been this clean and pristine and as crispy when it comes to the detail, binding, finish, fretwork and absolutely ever last detail on the guitar.. every Gibson he’s had has jagged sloppy binding, mediocre fretwork, finish with blemishes all over the place.. lol. I mean look into the pickup and control cavities, there’s isn’t any production or custom shop guitar with cavities that clean. Lol
While they're cool (and I really mean it) I saw a comment on Agufish's video about his Valiant that stated something I can't remember, but it wasn't too positive, I believe it was something about not using the best hardware out there or something like that.
Yeah that’s the one bad part about any RUclips demo/review is that no matter what it looks like or sounds like in a video.. the variables will always be different.. and watching a video will never represent what it feels like to anyone beside the person that’s actually handling it. Every Valiant I’ve seen so far has been crazy pristine in their detail work though, that I will say.
Such workmanship. Such attention to detail. That guitar is a real thing of beauty and has hours of the maker's work, passion and soul in it. Kudos to the artisans at Valiant Guitars, because I reckon that is the one of the best custom LP I've ever seen - or heard....🙌
Wow! That's an amazing guitar, I wouldn't change a thing on it. I hope they get the opportunity to get back into production in the future! Keep letting us know how they are doing in the coming weeks.
Agreed! That color combo would normally be a no from me, but they did such an excellent job I just love it! Headstock is good too. I can't think of a single thing to critique
Such a shame that Valiant guitars was destroyed. Thank you Trogly for bringing awareness to the situation and for showing us their beautiful guitars. Love and gratitude.
Easily, one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen. I love the finish, wood, and design. The workmanship is phenomenal! I remember seeing another video featuring one of your fantastic guitars and the unique nut. I'm so sad about what is taking place in Ukraine and how your country is being destroyed and so many lives have been lost. Please stay safe. I hope the tragedy of what is happening will end soon, and you will be able to rebuild your lives and business. Stay Valiant.
Austin, I realize you're trying to be critical and maybe you don't like the purple mixed with the orange sunburst but I LOVE IT!! I am by no means a good guitarist, maybe more of a collector but I definitely intend to buy one of their guitars. You've shown us tons of guitars and I love the PRS and the upper scale Gibsons which I plan to add to my collection but I am so impressed with the detail they put into making this guitar. I get the impression their guitars are not terribly pricy so once they are back in business I'm making an order. Thank you for introducing me to this quality company. I definitely don't have the refined tastes you have or a miniscule of the knowledge you have in grading guitars but I know what I like and I really like this guitar. I am buying one!! Thank you for the great review. P.S. To help out the Ukraine I purchased two of those very reasonably priced guitars under the Help the Ukraine to Win button. So inexpensive and a great gift to my nephews!!
Even setting PRS to one side, as they are their own thing, it is rather obvious that Eastman, Heritage and Valiant make far better LP-style instruments than Gibson USA can begin to dream of building. But then 50% of the price of those guitars is not for the name on the headstock.
@@hackdog69 He obviously hasn't checked prices either. Eastman LP type guitars are $2K, made in China. And heritage are $2600. And that's their standard models. Not custom shop.
Have them in a few of my guitars and they rock and also iron gear pickups are outstanding for the price I have them in my usa tele and they blow the stock pickups out the water.
@@stu-j I don't know if it's Trogley, his set up, amp or something else, but this demo they sound completely lacking in dynamics. Volume doesn't really vary regardless of how lightly or strongly he strummed it. Is that the pickups or something else, since you have experience with them.
@@Relayer6a I think all amps make pickups sound different but also Trogley has presets he uses for every guitar he reviews ( through his fender amp) and that reflects in the sound. They are quality pickups and sound very good with most amps and sometimes better than stock pickups you find in sub £1000 guitars. But I also think it's personal taste also as you can pick a pickup that has different dynamic ranges for the sort of music you play. With stock pickups you sort of stuck. I actually think Trogley would be better off with something like a kemper and then he could showcase what a guitar can sound like through say a Vox or a Marshall and not just thought his fender amp.
I love everything about this guitar, and being an American with a Ukrainian great-grandmother, I’m going to have to purchase one of these, if they make them in lefty.
Wow the Valiant Smith is one of the best guitars I've ever seen reviewed on YT, beautiful yet tasteful design and execution from headstock to bout. The finish and colour is very attractive. Good choice for pickups too. Nicely done Valiant crew!
That guitar is a work of art, WOW!! Everything about it seems very well thought out and executed. I think the splash of purple in the upper section is a nice contrast as well as the strip of purple-ish colored wood in the middle of the fretboard. I also like how the headstock matches with the body color and isn't just say black for example. Sounds great too! Hope you get to keep it Austin!
Yeah, that's a nice piece of kit. The way I'd describe the sound as a hollow-body SG. It's got that brightness like a good SG, but the hollow-body resonant singing of a 335. If you're playing leads like Angus Young, this is your axe.
It‘s one of the most beautiful guitar I‘ve ever seen! All the deviations from traditional shapes and hardware are all perfect for my taste. edit: I wonder if the screws on the nut turn on big bends (1,5 and 2 steps). I suppose till 1step bends they should have enough pressure and friction to not turn.
Dear Valiant, Beautiful work. For not being my color choice, it still looks amazing. Your Logo is fine. It sounds great. Maybe deepen the grooves in the nut and make them fit the strings better if they really do ping around under hard bending. Nothing some nut files couldn't fix. File them down about half the width of the sting with the same size nut file as the string. Then raise them up for proper clearance on the first fretsince they are adjustable. I love it. Open book headstock would be all I would change. I don't like how far it bumps out. If copying Gibson is an issue, then a Matin like with a slight bow instead of straight. Or a Taylor like. But just following the line above the logo would look best. I don't hate it. I would just do it a little different. But that is just me.
@@jacobseal I specked out a custom guitar one time with the most expensive woods and everything I could have put on it and it was around Four k... The fact that there are just standard Les Paul's that go for that amount of money is ridiculous.. You can literally get a semi custom guitar tar for just around the same price as a brand new standard Gibson .
@@ooferrell Oh I totally agree. What Gibson is charging is ridiculous these days. That is why I will sadly never own another one. But the guitar in this video is not 2k. Even at 4k it is a great value compared to major brands. This Valiant is a seriously lovely instrument. I would love to own one.
Having the trussrod adjustment at the heel prevents the headstock from having a weakspot due to the routing those guitars normally have. What I would love to see, though, is a way to cover the wheel cavity. Day to day use will cause dirt to get trapped in and it's very hard to get out and clean. I also think the wheel is far more superior than a traditional nut adjustment due to its ease of use.
If we put “Gibson “ on this guitar this would cost 20k or more, I got amazingly surprised with the retail value, 2k !? That’s really nothing for this level of quality
This is probably the most beautiful guitar I’ve seen in a long time. Just classic with a touch or modern. I WANT THAT ONE BAD!!! Thanks for bringing it to us!
Beautiful beautiful beautiful. Can't say it enough. Such impressive craftsmanship. Every detail is so clean and tight it makes big company guitars like Gibson, Fender and PRS look like budget quality guitars. For the price of a top end Les Paul THIS is what you should expect. NOTHING LESS. I do agree on the headstock logo. I think they should actually use that 1st fret logo as the headstock logo. But who cares! Nobody could really complain if they get a guitar made like THIS! ...................................... Oh and GREAT JOB on the fundraiser Trogly!
I'm not sure if you mentioned it, and I was distracted and missed it, but is that an adjustable brass nut I'm seeing? I'm pretty sure it is, and that is damn awesome! Hope they mass produce them so I can use them on some of my own builds someday.
Wow, the build quality and attention to detail looks amazing on this thing. I think the finish looks beautiful. Only critique I agree with is the headstock. I don’t know why exactly but it cheapens it. Like the logo and font and shape have a feel of something in the vein of Agile and AIO or something in that price range. But then the rest of the package is like ten times that. Crazy awesome guitar! If there is a graphic designer out there watching please do these guys a solid and help elevate their product.
That guitar looks beautiful. The craftsmanship is on point, those Bareknuckle pickups sound great. I hope Valiant are able to continue, especially when they make a guitar as gorgeous as this.
Did you try the case with the guitar in it? The handle offset is to account for the weight distribution of the guitar so that it's actually easier to carry.
Dear Valiant guitars, love your work but... your logo is fine, do NOT listen to Trogly when it comes to aesthetic/design stuff. There could stand to be more contrast between it and the rest of the headstock, but that's it, the design is perfectly fine as is. Maybe consider making the lower "V" part the VG logo? But that might be too busy
IF THEY DIDN'T DO THEIR OWN THING AND COPIED LP, VERBATIM, IT WOULDN'T BE THEM. I LOVE THE LOOK OF THIS GUITAR AND IT'S GREAT THEY HAVE STUCK TO THEIR GUNS AND PUT THEIR OWN SPIN ON THINGS: PICK UPS INCLUDED. GORGEOUS GUITAR MAN. WOW!
@Trogly That's a gorgeous instrument. Maybe to help them directly get back on their feet, or help them get their stock safely relocated, raffle the guitar off? Maybe $25-$30 USD per entry, and you match the submissions (if possible), holding the funds until they can receive them...or donating to UNHCR if Valiant prefers that. Just an idea.
Wow, what a beautiful guitar! Even though the color scheme is a bit unusual, it's a custom guitar. So to me, it makes the instrument that much more cool! Well done, Valient!
I'm at 1:44. First impressions, just out of the box, wow. That actually looks good. Not contrived or cheesy. Looks like its own thing and not a rip-off. Very nice.
I got my Jupiter in relic white just before the invasion and I love it… the craftsmanship is 10/10!!! Igor even did a one off headstock to match the body. I fully intend to get a Soothsayer once they are back up and running
Hey, what kind of pups does yours have? Is that the jazzmaster body style? I’m feeling that one myself.

Beautiful guitar. I agree that it would look better without the purple. The flame color looks great. I like that headstock. The inlaid logo looks nice.
A little note on the base material of the different humbuckers. In the case of same magnets and windings on different bases, the most chimyng are aluminum or brass.
The quality of workmanship is just amazing !! They even finish inside the pickup cavities. The hardware is also very impressive. I hope they can get back up and running again soon. I'm definitely an interested customer when they do. Very impressive.
THIS is actually worth the big $$$, this I would pay for. It's more than just a guitar, it's a work of art and you can really tell they went all in with the wood selection, design elements and features. It really burns my @#$ that the likes of Gibson and Fender churn out vaguely "upgraded" versions of standard models, slap a "custom shop" logo on it and ask 5 figure prices then something like this will sit on ebay for weeks at for less money because it doesn't have "brand recognition". Something like this is practically guaranteed to be better quality, value and, I mean just look at it. Built with passion rather than meeting a quota and deadlines. Great vid Trogly and I don't just mean because it's from Ukraine, these guys are legit.
That is one cool guitar, I wish them well in their endeavours to keep their manufacturing going in tough times. What a beautiful example to review. I had seen Valiant guitars in a review recently. The colour scheme is magnificent, just overall a stunning guitar.
Absolutely stunningly gorgeous!!! Now that...is a high quality crafted instrument. There's other "high quality(?)" guitar manufacturers who could certainly stand to take notes here. I'm Ukrainian and my heart pours for my brothers and sisters. Stand fast! The tyrant will fall!
Nothing but respect for the craftsmanship. Beautiful materials, great looking finish and the attention to detail is very impressive. I agree with you on the headstock. The shape is a little generic, and the bold logo could be somewhat more subtle and elegant - befitting a high-end instrument like this. Well done, Valiant!
Such a beautiful guitar with a lot of clever design ideas. I've obviously never touched one of those, so I have no idea how they play. But it sure looks amazing. It looks like they didn't cut any corners, but simultaneously, didn't put a bunch of silly nonsense in there. Most of the "cool stuff" seems very functional (e.g., that adjustable nut, the truss rod adjustment. Amazing guitar.
As a showpiece, it is magnificent and shows their capabilities. Everything on it is 150%, top quality and then go an extra 10 miles. I particularly liked the wheel and peg truss rod adjuster inlet into the neck. I would buy one in a heartbeat.
Typography is where so many major and boutique builders fall down. It kills me. They spend SO much effort on making gorgeous guitars, and then go in with totally unrefined type. Please just call me (or one of my colleagues, if you absolutely must. :^)
I usually don't like the off Paul shapes - but that's beautiful! And looks really well made with their custom hardware. Just awesome. Love the unusual colors- bold, like a purple and orange sunset. I would rock the holy hell out of that guitar. The pups are killer.
This is stunningly beautiful. Very impressed. If I had the funds to get another high end guitar I'd definitely consider them! My only real critique is the headstock logo. It reminds me too much of a pizza slice. If it was just the brand name and not the V and curve above it, it'd be fine. Different font maybe? But otherwise just the pizza slice outline. Otherwise amazing!
the weight-relief, which was calculated by emulating the vibration inside the body to make sure that the loss of material does not affect the sound by drastically altering its nature.
Dang! I’m not the Les Paul guy like you are but I felt mad love the second you lifted the lid! Love the colors, the bridge & hardware and quality looks amazing. I DIG IT BABY!!!
That is a beautiful guitar. Very nice craftsmanship. Love the finish! I like that they made it unique to their brand and not just a copy. The fretboard is great.
That’s a nice looking fiddle right there I usually don’t like single cut Les Paul shape or at least the radical variations of the shape but they nailed it it’s different enough but still familiar enough. Really cool almost like an Ibanez, Robin and Fernandez best blended inside one . I love the finish I wouldn’t have thought purple sunburst would work on paper either .
Slightly like a Jazzmaster and LP body shape mash-up. Wich looks badass! Lol...That valute is killer too. Hell the whole build is top shelf. The paint job looks like a beautiful sunset. I have a feeling Valiant will eventually be a top guitar brand with the big boys.
I love the body shape and finish, too many Les Paul clones without any tasteful body variations like this one has. I love the sturdy hardware, I love the headstock logo, it’s original, classy, and it’s theirs. I love the adjustable nut and the nut width. Love the fretboard. I like the adjustable truss rod but you do lose a fret. Like you, I prefer the serial number on the body or neck. I really like this guitar, and I’m an old school traditionalist fairly set in his ways. Bravo, great work.
That is a beautiful guitar! Gibson's custom shop doesn't even put out anything like this often (and I bet the qc wouldn't be as good, considering Gibson is a big company with tight deadlines). I LOVE that finish! Like you said, who'da thunk it'd work. I'd keep this for history sake. I pray Valiant can get back to making guitars in peace soon.
This is not only a work of art, the attention to detail in a real tuff market is incredible. It’s sounds great. Looks like it plays well. This guy really tried to pick this apart.
Obviously, from being a boutique guitar, the attention to detail is very very good. It looks gorgeous. I do like the purple color on the head stock and the body, but having the purple heart will take some getting used to. This is comparable to a PRS.
Took a LOT of will power to not comment before the play demo. This instrument is BEAUTIFUL 😍! The finish is amazing imo. LOVE the finish and design all around. 👏 definitely will be helping thier business in the future. I'm not a player who does a ton of bends so I'm good with that particular issue with the nut you found.
Great guitar! I have always had problems with a brass nut, pertaining to the pinging of the G string in the nut of my customised Strats and Les Paul Standard 2012/13 whist string-bending. I tried 3-in-oil, but to no avail. Great show as ever! Keep-up the good-work!
That finish is bloody fantastic! Shape is great too. If there were any way at all that I could beg, borrow, or steal enough money, I'd buy that guitar from you in a heartbeat, Austin. The only small critique I'd make is the logo on the headstock. I think they could do a bit more with it, but I'm being nitpicky in the extreme. I'm absolutely in love with this one.

And Russia blew up their place of business...wtf?
@@bryonkidder6199 Hope they are ok....
beautiful guitar! Gibson could only wish to make a guitar like that.
Gibson would charge 15k for a les paul like this
they made stuff like that but for the 10-20 times the price
If Gibson could even make a guitar this nice they would slap a price tag on it that resembled a real estate purchase in Hong Kong.
If is right...thats why Austin didn't rave about this one more. Gibson isn't even able to make something this nice. They just don't have the ability. Not even in the custom shop. Sadly
I must admit, I'm jealous of your avatar!
And they’d only make a small amount so players can’t get them, just collectors. I’ve always been a Les Paul fanboy, but switching to PRS. and Valiant once the bs is over. Hope they’ll make a Valiant Victory just like this.
@@R1GAMBLER If you know, you know. Now tell me what the entirety of his avatar represents and please tread carefully.
Wow! That is beautiful. Love the colors and the detail work. Wondering if the handle of the case is set towards the heavier body of the guitar, when cased, so that it is balanced when loaded?
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe Carry it the other way around?
Good point! Never thought of that.
1:00 to 1:18 you can clearly see the offset handle placement towards the body compartment😊
The fact that the pickup cavity is immaculate is crazy to me
I actually said “wow those are some clean routes” out loud when I saw them. I’m too used to seeing Gibson reviews
Totally disagree… I reckon the headstock and branding inlay looks awesome. Thumbs up from me 👍
I feel this is the first guitar I have seen in a long time that is unique without being out of control strange. This is a very cool instrument.
Wow that's a 12 out of 10 and it sounds as good as it looks . And I think it needs that finish to show off all that flame and make it move..
I wouldn't take 3 Les Paul's for that one awesome piece of wood, wire and electricity. Beautiful, beautiful guitar.
Even setting PRS to one side, as they are their own thing, it is rather obvious that Eastman, Heritage and Valiant make far better LP-style instruments than Gibson USA can begin to dream of building. But then 50% of the price of those guitars is not for the name on the headstock.
LOL
lol, not any heritage I have played..
@@hackdog69 He obviously hasn't checked prices either. Eastman LP type guitars are $2K, made in China. And heritage are $2600. And that's their standard models. Not custom shop.
Breaks my heart. Let's make sure they have a huge back log of orders by the time the war is over. Slava Ukraini.
Thanks for support. Greatings from Ukraine!
What does this guitar cost in American dollars ?
Great guitar for sure.

And now we all know why Bare Knuckle pickups are so popular, great sounding for sure.
Have them in a few of my guitars and they rock and also iron gear pickups are outstanding for the price I have them in my usa tele and they blow the stock pickups out the water.
@@stu-j well yeah if you have your stock pickups in water I would guess they suck.
@@drewjohnson4794 they didn't seem happy in the box so the fish tank it was!
I love the coloring they did on it. Love all the flame in the body, neck and binding. They knocked it out of the park.
All the deviations from traditional shapes and
hardware are all perfect for my taste.
edit: I wonder if the screws on the nut turn on big bends (1,5 and 2 steps). I suppose till 1step bends they should have enough pressure and friction to not turn.
This guitar looks great!
Look at the cleanliness of the pickup cavities. The detail through out this build is beyond great!
I've never seen such clean pickup routs!
Dear Valiant,
Beautiful work.
I don’t know much about Valiant but I certainly stand with the Ukrainian people. I really dig that Jupiter model
@@R1GAMBLER wow so edgy
@@skenandj I actually think the original comment is more edgier than the guy that you responded to lol
@@ooferrell wow so edgy
@Philthy Casual Russia good, Ukraine bad
That guitar for a couple of grand Gibson should be ashamed 🤣 😂 😆 every route and detail just looks beautiful! And sounds amazing 👏.
That guitar is probably way more than 2k. They START at 2k.
I also think the wheel is far more superior than a traditional nut adjustment due to its ease of use.
just the beauty of the inside of the pickup cavity tells you everything you need to know about the quality of the build ......very , very nice.
That is one gorgeous guitar!!! I love that color combination and the neck is stunning!!! WOW!
Personally I think the finish is stunning. Even the pickup cavity looks good!
It’s a beautiful guitar …well done guys …Long Live Ukraine 🇺🇦
If we put “Gibson “ on this guitar this would cost 20k or more, I got amazingly surprised with the retail value, 2k !? That’s really nothing for this level of quality
Exactly. Why buy gibson at that point?? Valliant is just 💙💛
their lowest priced guitar is 2k. Id say this would come in at least 4-5k range
Most every great boutique builder blows away ANYTHING Gibson makes when considering quality/price.
The fret board looks amazing.
Oh and GREAT JOB on the fundraiser Trogly!
did you even notice? they polished AND buffed the pickkup cavities!!! Thats insane
probably the only les paul style whose headstock isnt gonna break if you drop it accidentally, love that construction
I'm not sure if you mentioned it, and I was distracted and missed it, but is that an adjustable brass nut I'm seeing? I'm pretty sure it is, and that is damn awesome! Hope they mass produce them so I can use them on some of my own builds someday.
Warwick has been using that kind of nut on their basses for decades.
I hope Valiant are able to continue, especially when they make a guitar as gorgeous as this.
that guitar is gorgeous no matter where they are from that is incredible work and for the price wow! love this instrument!
Very nice.
I've heard and seen nothing but good about Valiant. Would love to order from them when I can! P.S. Trogly, you gotta get that x-ray machine!
Such a beautiful guitar. Those clean pickup cavities, alone, are testament to their craftsmanship. Great tone.
Can we talk about how clean those pickup cavities are?? Good lawd I have never seen that amount of clean.
Typography is where so many major and boutique builders fall down. It kills me. They spend SO much effort on making gorgeous guitars, and then go in with totally unrefined type. Please just call me (or one of my colleagues, if you absolutely must. :^)
Bare Knuckle pickups are cool, I have them in a couple of my guitars.
Why do you like them?
Beautiful...shame war is stopping them..they could have a market in the states, would love to try one, looks very player friendly...
I've got one for sale if you're interested!

That guitar is incredible. I would of requested med size frets. Equals less buzz
The adjustable nut is absolutely 💯.
If I could get some of them for varying makes i.e. fender, gibson styles etc...well take my f#*kig already please!
Smoking guitar. The finish absolutely works for me. Positive thoughts and prayers go out to the Ukrainian people. Great build!
Awesome quality, even Bareknuckle pickups. Nice!
What a beauty! Work of Art! Austin, you may want to check the nut. It looks it is adjustable? Is that reason why the strings slid off the nut?
I love the body shape and finish, too many Les Paul clones without any tasteful body variations like this one has. I love the sturdy hardware, I love the headstock logo, it’s original, classy, and it’s theirs. I love the adjustable nut and the nut width. Love the fretboard. I like the adjustable truss rod but you do lose a fret. Like you, I prefer the serial number on the body or neck. I really like this guitar, and I’m an old school traditionalist fairly set in his ways. Bravo, great work.
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS Axe!!! Man...I want one. And I LOVE that finish.
Damn. I want one too. Another reason to drive Putin out of Ukraine.
