The reason why Ja is a wannabe gangsta is, he grew up in the suburbs with 2 loving, caring and successful parents, he have no opps which would mean he have no one to fear, he is now making $40 mil a year and have basically completed life. But instead of being a good influence on his younger fans, he is trying to be a gangsta and show how tuff he is even tho he have no reason to do all the stupid things he does. NBA players who are actually from the trenches and grew up with killers don’t act the way Ja does.
You need to stop making excuses for these young guys who are role models but are out here acting a fool. Hold them accountability for acting like something they are not and promoting bad behaviors.
How is he a role model? Because he decided to play a sport he loves and succeeded at it. What makes him a role model, the millions he makes? Money doesn't make one mature, actually it would make someone who doesn't come from it even more immature because they aren't use to it. A lot of people want to say someone famous should be a better role model for kids while those same people are failing to be a role model to the kids that are in their life. Stop pushing this narrative that everyone who has money should be some type of way. Plenty of so called "adults" need to grow up. He's 23 and not even in his prime yet. He takes accountability for his actions. If y'all knew half of what these athletes really do y'all would say he's not so bad and he will get it one day
@@KiddandCeeReacts he's acting like someone he's not. we all want him to succeed and watching him potentially throw away everything he worked hard for is frustrating. it's not about his money it's about him, he is a role model whether he likes it or not and his actions have consequences that impact not just him but many of his impressionable fans. also beating up people and threatening other's is just straight illegal

By the age of 13 or even younger I was always around druggies and my friends were already dealing by 14. Another friend stole his sister car at that joy ride at 15 they let the youngest friend 12 drive they got into a car accident youngest boy died. I had a opportunity to join them that night. Thank God I didn't, after that everyone went separate ways from that group one then the father kicked him out to live on the streets the other had to live with the grandparents other not sure what happened but I choose not to follow them I was already making smart decision lol.

I agree with you but when you welcome someone in your home and they start an altercation with you and threaten you and they aren't alone and with a city with a reputation like Memphis with mostly kids doing the crime, you may over react. And in all honest Ja isn't the only Memphis Basketball player with street ties. His curse is the social media era. The other players Memphis had did way more than Ja

You 100% right about being black from the south. I’m from southern VA, when joined the Army i instantly connected with guys from the Carolinas, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, etc. It was like we all grew up similar
It is such a shame when a talented player walks this path. I bet it is the company that he keeps around him. As long as that remains in his life, it will pull him and his name down from potential greatness that a player like him can achieve.

Morant has the potential to be one of the greatest players in the NBA and compete for a championship whether it's with the Grizzlies or somewhere else. I just hope that he doesn't waste it and be out of the league and we go "What if? What if?". I hope that I wasn't being harsh about my opinion of him, I just hope that he doesn't screw it up.
