I think you've picked a good selection out of the range there,
Im surprised the Class 58 wasn't in there though. Merry Christmas Jenny 🎅
Hi Jenny .
Hope you had a great Christmas and wishing you all the best for 2022.
I have a few Heljan locos and I would rank them in the following order :-
1) Class 07 weathered. 2) Class 128 Postal Red, 3) Class 33 weathered , 4) Class 27 weathered , 5) Class 47 BR Blue small logo.
All 5 are great runners too.
Cheers Kev
A nice review of your favourites. Hope Zoey and yourself have a peaceful rest and will look forward to 2022 for more of your model railway adventures.
Merry Christmas and happy New Year!!!!
A good selection, Jenny. I have one of the GWR 0-6-0ST locos and it is such a reliable machine, although not entirely appropriate for my Southern Region line. I have got an 07 in military guise on order, and this will be my 5th diesel. As a dyed in the wool steam fan I never thought I'd be buying any, but the sheer quality of today's models is almost irresistible! Happy Christmas to you and Zoe, I'll drop into the Monday Club when possible in 2022.
I've got five Heljan models, with a sixth on the way. They're all diesels and I've generally had good experiences with them, even though the Class 15 has slightly poor build quality and the Class 16 has really sluggish performance.
Besides the 15 and 16, my other Heljan models are DP2, HS4000 'Kestrel' and a blue Class 128. The one that's on the way is a Royal Mail 128, and incidentally DP2 is the only one in this group that wasn't bought from Hattons.
looking forward to this video .... i own hornby and bachmann locos so this will help me ... thanks jenny .... and merry christmas to you and zoey 👍👍
A great little video to wake up to on Christmas Eve, thank you. Heljan has been knocked by others on RUclips but this was a great set with some types which (as I’d been away from the hobby for many years) I hadn’t realised had been produced. I agree with your top choice which I have in ICI livery. ‘Kestrel’ has stunning looks and I wish I’d seen the real thing when it was still around.
Wishing you and Zoe a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thank you both for all your hard work throughout 2021 which has produced many great videos and an enjoyably addictive Monday Club.
Very enjoyable video jenny; really was expecting the class 33 (my personal fave) to feature more prominently, but at least it got lumped in with the 27, so we have to be grateful for small mercies lol! Have a lovely Christmas, and I hope the Cupboard Monkey gets a day off editing videos!
I've never own a Heljan but I'm well impressed with the class 27. It's definitely one I wouldn't mind owning the weathering on it is superb. The 07 shunter would be another I'd like to get, again great weathering and would be ideal on my dockyard layout.
Great reviews Jenny. Enjoy the Christmas holidays. ☃️ 🌲
So, here it is. Merry Christmas.
I have non heljan models at moment but have pre ordered the gnr 02 that they are doing
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and your family
Keep safe arp
Would you happen to know any good places online to look for the Heljan class 28?
Great video and great choise the class 77 is my favourite. MERRY Christmas Stay safe.
An excellent presentation Jennifer as always. It is difficult to choose a Heljan top 10, as they are all good models. I would agree with your top 10, except for the inclusion of the Class 35 Hymeks, which were one of the original Heljan releases and an excellent model. I would put the Hymeks in at position 5 or 6.
wonderful video
Hi Jennifer
, just watched this video and was blown away with the class 76, but when I tried to get one they all didn't have the pipework that's on yours can you help, please
I like the weathering on 27001.
33 is my favourite... 58 second
Good choice, 33 is my favourite too.
Awesome video
Great selection Jenny! I don't know enough of Heljan (and I didn't know it was pronounced as "Hel-yan") to know what they've produced, but what I do have I very much like. I have an issue with my Heljan/Hatton's Class 28 Co-Bo in that whilst it's a great looking model, it doesn't go! A friend who briefly fitted DCC to it thinks the motor may be in backwards ❗ Can this be? Aside from that the GWR railcar in red & cream with DCC + sound and am quite happy with it, and also have the Class 25 as Tamworth Castle (due to Tamworth being a fairly well known Australian place), as yet unused.
The Class 15/16 units surprise me as being Australian I am used to similar locos in various roles, usually GM-EMD powered with appropriate sound levels!!!
Keep up the great videos girl, I'd love to see more of your layout! Best Wishes for the Season, ~ Toby. 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃
I would add Class 128 & 58 to my list
The Class 76’s were offered to NS at a knockdown price but turned them down because they were full of asbestos and either ordering or accepting the Alstom 1500 series, 1500v DC Bo-Bo. The Class 07’s went by road because they suffered badly from hotbox’s when travelling at normal line speeds.
Hi Jen,
Compliments of the season.
Surprised no class 33 or 58’s in your top 10.
And what about the class 121?
Then there is the class 73…….
I guess you can’t please everyone all the time. 😀
I don't own any heljan locos but I am seriously considering getting some.
No Garratt?
Lovely models, those Heljan models!! My layout is 100% steam and is of the Dad’s Army series.
Awsum 🚂❤️👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome Nicely done ✔ CHEERS FROM OVER SEAS UNITED STATES 🇺🇸
Jenny that Class 07 is a lovely model but it simply sheds parts like nothing else I have seen. The grab handles are all just too fragile.
For me, it would have been the Class 25, but in Two-Tone Green. Merry Christmas to you and Zoe. Martin. (Thailand)
Yeh shame about the woodhead line, I used to live near it, thanks.
Small point Jennie ...... Wath is pronounced Woth
