Silversun Pickups - Widow's Weeds
Climbing up to metal doors
Splash of red we’ve seen before
Cryptic message on the ground
Stare straight up before looking down
Lean into this scene
Wearing widow’s weeds
Run inside and suddenly
So many limbs all over me
Pretty people wild and free
Here is where I’ll leave you be
You would do the same for me
Behind the roads
Beneath cities
A shape will form from little lights
Moves on you
Then covers me
From head to toe in widow’s weeds
In widow’s weeds
Make a blanket from your hair
They’re getting close but we don’t care
You whisper gently unaware
That here is where I’ll leave you be
You would do the same for me
Behind the roads
Beneath cities
A shape will form from little lights
Moves on you
Then covers me
From head to toe in widow’s weeds
In widow’s weeds
In widow’s weeds
In widow’s weeds
In widow’s weeds
It’s starting to shine
We’re ready to shine
Pulled all the muscles in our heads
Won’t allow to look down again
No regrets the scene is set
But don’t forget
Behind the roads
Beneath cities
A shape will form from little lights
Moves on you
Then covers me
From head to toe in widow’s weeds
Here is where I’ll leave you be
You would do the same for me
This band has done so much for me. So worthy of celebrating. 🍸
even their most positive songs have a fantastic sense of irresistible impending doom
Beautiful.
Wasn't crazy about this album, but I loved this track.
Saw Silversun Pickups in concert this past weekend, and bought this album while I was there. I love the blend of melancholy, nostalgia, and yearning in this song!
Song made me have tears
🙌😳🙌🤩🙌🥂🙌
“We’re ready to shine!...”
😭😭 hittin those feels at the right time & space!
I'm always nervous to listen to new SSPU because I'll be listening to it everyday for the few months and I want it to be good.
Same
For some reason I feel the same like there is no way they can keep being as great and this album might suck, but goddamn the more I listen the more i adore every single song they make!
You got nervous??? 😷🤧🤧
Don’t forget your inhaler & Claritin before you flip the record.... Jesus man!
@@austinhealy7333 This would've been good advice BEFORE I flipped the record and subsequently ended up in the hospital. Good thing I have good health insurance.
Dude! I feel the same way! Everything they do is always so good, and I’m terrified there will be a time that they release something I don’t like, like it’s happened before with artists that I adore. This album is pretty damn solid though so no worries this time lol
I love this album.
Their best! I love every song.
I like the increased presence of the acoustic guitar on this new album. Not dominant, just another shade in the mix
I really feel like this could've come from Pikul. It's nice to hear their new and old sounds mixing together on this track (and the album in general).
I thought my fav was Kissing Families until I heard this! Totally agree
SSPU is one of the few bands I love and have always followed. Much love!!! ♥
What a great song! Listening on repeat the whole day
Im the same way... But all their music makes me cry. So that causes problems too.
I’m going to be honest. After listening to Don’t Know Yet I was not feeling too good about the sound of this new album. After I listened to Bag of Bones I was in love. What an amazing band.
funny I skip bag of bones and don't know yet is my favourite..but the beauty of this band is they don't really have a bad song, and everyone can have different favourites
Top tier jam
Seeing these guys tonight in Sacramento, just a couple weeks ago I was on a listening binge of them so I checked their tour randomly. Bought a ticket, I guess things happen for a reason sometimes.
The Central Plate was spotlighting this album the other day and this song was playing when I was picking up my order. Good tune.
One of their best songs - I like the band leans into slightly more progressive elements (mostly talking about the rhythm ala syncopation and time sig changing)
Outstanding. Did anyone else get a hard "Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dreams" type feel from this song? I did and I fucking love it.
Anthony DeStefano totally. I’ve always thought their sound was heavily influenced by Smashing Pumpkins
This is Smashing Pumpkins produced by Butch Vig!
Definitely has a lot in common with “Whir”. But still different enough to be its own thing.
I came here to say the same thing! it was great.
The verses sound cool.. It has the same chord structure as Drown with the same twin ebow leads. I hear a little bit of Hummer, Whir, and Today in there too.
Amazing tune by the big boys( and girl)
awesome album!
Why is this my 7th listen and i still hope for Brian say "a shape and form from a make believe"
exactly
You would do the same for me!
Soooo good n relaxing
Me encantaaaa!!!
I got to see this album live only thing different more enregy and a lot louder
Love SSPU, songs like this remind me of why I cherish them in the first place. Hopefully we get more tunes like this and less like Better Nature.
hey better nature is a good song
❤️❤️❤️
We need more bands like this to save Rock. Shit, to save music in general.
Lol, okaaay then
Feels nostalgic for the 90s, which i dont have memories for :D
Such a good song
How can you be nostalgic of the 90s if you have no memories of it?
This and Simpatico are my immediate favorites. I only just bought the album Saturday, and of course there’s the two singles. But damn, this song has a dreamy yet dizzying immediacy to it that I I haven’t heard since Swoon. Well, Bloody Mary was the last song by them that gave me such a great euphoria (earphoria?) on my initial listens, until now! This song, this album, this band!! So good. I’m kinda glad they toned down the electronic beatsy soundscapes on this one. They always sound better as a natural unit. 🤘
Exactly my thoughts, the last couple albums weren't my sspu, but this album has got me psyched!
I need to buy a hifi system, vocals completely blurred into instrumentals with just this track with my system.
MBV/Smashing Pumpkins vibes❤❤.
Hummer by smashing pumpkins vibe
Slipknot, CTE, Sum 41, and Chevelle releasing albums this year too!! 2019 y’all
Zachary Rizzo don’t forget about Tool!
Confirming 2019 as one of the worst years ever.
Not often i hit PLAY ALL.
The sound of guitar
Happy this album ratchets up the guitar a little bit. I'd been missing that. Don't misunderstand - loving the music, just think they're at their best with slightly edgier guitar just under the surface, driving it.
Holy shit this is Smashing Pumpkinesque. So good!!!
This album destroys they're last album
Thank God there back!
Does this song sound like it's inspired by elliott smith? It me it does
I wonder if the “Here is where I’ll leave you be” is an intentional nod back to “Make Believe”.
:DDDD 👍
Bogota awaits for you, guys
yes please
It could be me, but in terms of tone this sounds like ‘The Wild Kind’ 2.0.
Layer wise, the riffs are a bit more intricate/layered/cleaner.
I like it lyrically but it’s probably my least favourite song from the new album.
At 5 minutes It seems to meander a little too long without any strong build up or change.
the wild kind is the highlight of that other album for me
Anyone just get the Spotify notification?
Ein Sten nah i’ve only got the youtube notification
@@TheCrazyN00b1 same here
I got the Spotify for sure, the melody is great. Haven't really listened to the words yet, ya know?
I love this song. Its kind of a ripoff of Lost for words by Pink Floyd but I Dont care. Plus, if you are gonna borrow sounds from someone, what better source than Pink Floyd.
*sigh* Dammit, I wanted another album like Carnavas or Swoon. This is indie pop, not indie rock.
This song is the most they’ve sounded like Carnavas in a very long time. Strange track to lodge that particular complaint on.
Aster this is the closest, you’re right, yet it’s not even close.
lol that's awful compared to their first album... So mushy and gooey... What the fuck happened ?
Evolution in bands n age change music
Wish i was seeing you guys at Osheaga this year!
