Thank you for including Willow in this video. She is adorable. I am currently reading in French "La fortune des Rougon" by Emile Zola. Surely you would love his descriptions. Have you ever read any translated in English? Have a great reading week! 🌻
I grew up with a Cav who I miss very much, so I was delighted to see Willow! She’s gorgeous. The Housekeeper and the Professor is one of the most wholesome books I’ve ever read, I recommend it highly.
Cold Enough for Snow sounds like my kind of book. Definitely picking that one up soon. And the Housekeeper and the Professor sounds really good too. Willow is so beautiful!
Willow is so beautiful! Hope you enjoy ‘Cold enough for snow’, it sounds intriguing. I am currently halfway through ‘Remains of the Day’ (only my second Ishiguro so far) and adoring it, I hope you get to read it soon!
It's a wonderful play, isn't it? And there are a few very enjoyable productions of it, including one starring Diana Rigg, who possibly you've never heard of - ah well.... Enjoy!
@@kaylastarr3822 the two I know off the top of my head are movies: As I said one starred Diana Rigg and Judi Densch; the other stars Kevin Kline. That one is an adaptation set in Italy around the turn of 20th century. I think that Stanley Tucci is in it too, along Callista Lockheart (sp.?).
Willow! 😄.. I can’t wait to read your book. I’m currently reading the Bible. But I do have tones of books on my Kindle that I haven’t read yet. I really enjoyed the video!
Willow is so adorable. I'm reading The Remains of the Day now, I had read it a long time ago and my movie tie in copy has gone missing. It's funny the one I picked is the same edition as yours. I'm about halfway through and it's great!
Hi to Willow,a difficult choice! As regards a sad and tragic tale to make you cry I've just finished reading Jude The Obscure. It's a heart-rending tale of love and devotion that I would rank alongside Anna Karenina.
Your dog, Willow, looks great. As for me, currently I'm reading three things (tho likely they wouldn't interest you much): Lioness, a 2017 biography of Golda Meir; Simone de Beauvoir's Le deuxieme sexe, vol. 2; and Pamuk's Nights of Plague. I became interested in Pamuk after seeing some reviews here, on BookTube - including one from our very own Emmie. I've integrated it into a mini-plague study, which includes Nobel Prize winner Sinclair Lewis' Arrowsmith, and Camus' La peste. Speaking of Camus, I'm eagerly awaiting the live show!
The housekeeper and the professor is literally one of my favorite books ever. As a math nerd its one of the first times I felt like math could be artistic and beautiful
I've heard such great things about Jessica Au, great choice Willow 😊. You really need to read The Remains of the Day though. I'm currently rereading Hild by Nicola Griffith in prep for the sequel coming out. It's marvelous.
Happy birthday to Willow! ❤ Good to see her again, she's so beautiful. I just finished The Whalebone Theatre, and I think you'd like it. My next read is Wishtree by Katherine Applegate. 😊
It's a popular story, particularly here, on BookTube. Usually I place it with the "deal with the devil" genre, which for me is wider than for most, including even Confessions of a Vampire. Of course, the story works without imbuing the model with evil supernatural powers, however there is need for an explanation of how the portrait became what is was. I'm glad you're enjoying it; I did too. It's too short tho, no?
@@jamesduggan7200 i’m definitely still in the beginning parts of it, so i’m not sure how the pacing will be in the rest but the themes are so interesting! such depth in the commentary about love and vanity
Oh my goodness, Carolyn, guess what arrived in the mail today. 4 Brian Selznick books: Wonderstruck, Kaleidescope, The Marvels, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, and I'm still waiting for Live Oak, With Moss to arrive. I swear I gasped and teared up at the beauty of every single page I opened to. I love graphite illustration and it's my favourite medium to work in myself. I can't wait to devour these books.
Hi. I am currently reading poems by Robert Frost. It’s the first time I have read anything by him, and I’m in love. I am also reading Lord of the rings. I have all three books in one, so it’s a big one. It’s beautyful though, with gorgeous illustrations. Just a bit big and heavy to handle😉. Cute dog💕.
I'm reading Anna Karenina (slowly because I'm new to the classics). Wet have two Cocker Spaniels. They are littermates, same mom and dad. They just turned 17 on August 5th. They are our babies (old babies).
Hi Carolyn, came across a Belgian writer-illustrator, Gabrielle Vincent (real name Monique Martin). Think you might like her work. And maybe add her to your author portraits.
Hello! I'm just a beginner reader and a non-native speaker who is only in middle school. So, would you please recommend books (fiction) which are understandable and easy to read for non-native speaker, especially for intermediate level? Btw, I love how you recommend about the books. It's so amazing that the way you explain and tell about your thoughts and emotions. Thanks!
