Laura, the problem with getting 501,989 hits is that you have the potential of getting 486,969 moronic comments like some I read below. But keep up the good work. Boston cream donuts have always been my favorite.
I tried this recipe to make the good 'ol classic donuts coated with sugar. Instead of whole milk, I used low fat milk. The donuts turned out really well. It's so soft and they were gone less than 30 minutes. I got 20 donuts by using two-inch cookie cutter. Can't wait to make it again with the custard and chocolate.
Tip: When I made these, I did not wait 2-3 hours. I put them in the oven on low temp, and they did NOT take as long. Still delicious, still tastes the same.

The doughnuts are really good. Here is a tip that works really well for me. Instead of cooking them in oil, cook them in a vegetable shortning (i use crisco) The reason is that if there is excess shortening left on the doughnut, it will become solid at room temp. Oil will stay an oil and sometimes can make your doughnuts alittle soggy (and sometimes not) Either way, it works for me!

What can I substitute for vegetable shortening? Can I use more unsalted butter? C:
You can use an equal amount of unsalted butter. I can't find it where I live either. :(
You can use lard. You can find lard anywhere and if not you can render it yourself.

Hi that really looks really good I'm ready to make some right now really looks so good I'm going to try them out thank you for sharing.
lol!! I like how you were like; "it's kinda like a man." and then you didn't wanna sound dirty so you talked a lot more!!
Saw this video today, went to the store, and now I have these donuts! :D they were not that hard to make! And they're pretty tasty. I love Laura! I get so many great recipes from her website.
can i move in with u?
Me tooooo 😂
Me three!
Omg same
I don't wanna live but I do wanna visit on my cheat day 😀
Make room for MEEEEE
For some reason, I am compelled to make these! Looks too good to pass up. 💖 Thank you for the video!
Laura, there has to be something wrong, you said dough works like a man... well, I've made bread several times, and it has always turned out wonderfully. But men? not so much :(
It’s probably not the men, it’s you!!
@@ledflaplin2001 absolutely
ledflaplin2001 or it’s the men 😂
Mama Mia, A beautiful Italian lady that cook wonderfully. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I will be subscribing and trying these soon!
Am I the only one that notice there is something wrong with Laura eyebrows ?
Ps, LOVE YOUR SHOW❤️
I noticed too , one is slightly bigger/darker than the other
She had a childhood injury that took off part of her eyebrow, so she fillts it in instead.
Yes I know that. I'm just saying that on this video one is slightly darker than the other. The rest if the time her eyebrows are on fleek 👌
***** that has nothing to do with why its fuller and darker -_- she just didn't even both brows
There's nothing wrong with them either dyed them or filled them in which by the way look great
Oh, wow. I grew up in Boston and grew up eating a TON of these. Really good recipe. Another hit, Laura Vitale. :)
If these things turn out looking like the image that brought me here, I'm stay'n.
Dave McBroom how did they turn out ? Tell me please!! I wanna make 'em
I remade these and they were so delightful. Thank you Laura
This is like food porn ,The doughnuts in the end looked so good 😍

What do you do with the oil afterwards?
This is my favorite type of donut. the Boston Cream custard filling is the best!!
