It's really impressive how comprehensive the wizkids miniature lines have become for these adventures. It's shame prices have skyrocketed. If they ever go back down after the shipping crisis has passed they'll be excellent additions to any table. But I can't recommend these at such high prices.
I wish they had done the pumpkin on Burly's head! Side note, thanks for pointing out the difficulty of getting them to the table. I think people should definitely consider that.
I thought about that pumpkin. It would have been really cute... but the figure might be a bit more useable in more situations without it. Maybe a removable pumpkin! And yeah... aside from the little heist mission in the first chapter, you might not be able to use these in the traditional way. -Theo
Just finished running chapter 1 of the wild beyond the witchlight - i'm honestly kind of disappointed in how heavily they emphasized the carnival in their marketing and things like this set of minis or the "dice and miscellany" set. the carnival makes up, at a VERY generous estimate, 15% of the adventure. It only took about 8 hrs of play time for us to get through it, and my players actually spent more time there than I think the adventure intended them to. I understand not wanting to spoil players for what happens later in the adventure, but I would have loved to see more resources go into the feywild exploration portion!
Loving this adventure! It is really hard to justify the price especially when they won't be used in combat, but Dang they look great! I'd love to make a bunch of tents and carnival wagons and use these just to set the mood.
Luckily it wouldn't be too hard to either craft or find circus or carnival terrain and pretty cheaply at that I would imagine, a quick stop to the dollar store and even a novice can easily craft a big top tent from things like party supplies , popsicle sticks, and such. I would be shocked if there weren't crafting channels here on RUclips with plenty of videos on making such themed terrain
Almost always the same, half of these packs have bad detailed miniatures, and for the only purpose of display at home, are very expendable. Monsters of Wildemount Set I from Critical Role, one of the few exceptions, and 3 of them are very meh..

Wow, the details, especially on the face, are missing completely on most of these. Not to mention those awful, awful paintjobs. Overpriced garbage.
