It both Infinite and Neo Metal Sonic we're rescued by fans thanks to the Overclocked Mod!
Plus the real reason why the emeralds were never used in sonic forces is because Eggman used the Phantom Ruby to negate their power, all of them stuck with the negative energy ( The risk of even using one of them will turn any character to their dark forms without control, or they just don't work until the phantom ruby was disabled).
