I find it almost extraterrestrial how The B-52s manage to convey such a zest for life and lightness over decades. I love music. I love the B-52s.
They set the standard
In 1981 The B52's became one of my favorite bands. Now, 40 years later they are on their final tour. I just scored some great tickets for the San Fransisco show. Looking forward to a great final concert.

Beings back memories from college.
I am amazed at how well I did with 4 nights in Georgia . I go from balcony front , to 11th row Orchestra 2nd night , 300.00 put ticket Sunday , 11th row Orchestra center middle in Athens , it was the last ticket 🎫. 😱 I have met them several times and always very nice back in the 80s and 90's when easier to find them and a fundraiser. It's going to be a sad moment in Athens as the show ends.
don't expect their voices to be as good as they were in the old days...their good, but its time to retire I think!
What a band. Followed since they brought blazing yellow colour into my rural UK life in 1979. Unique guitar sound and lyric. The voices of Cindy and Kate just fit together like no others and contrast wonderfully with Fred. Wonderful.

I’m 62 and now waiting to see them the last night in Atlanta. Got an aisle seat so I can stand up and dance the whole show! This will be my 4th and probably final show…..

Every time I say, "that's my favourite", another great song comes on and it's back to square one. I do know, I will never, ever tire of the B-52s. Simply the best.
You can't underestimate what these wonderful people did--- for dance music, for inspiring young listeners/fans to become musicians, and for the community of people who felt different ... it's really phenomenal. From 1978 onward, the band was a force to be reckoned with. I was a tween when they first rose to fame, and The B-52s sounded so fresh and fun at the time. Nobody else had that same sound.
Happy to stumble on this music video mix, and I appreciate it being available here. I hope that Kate, Fred, Keith and Cindy will find nothing but _good stuff_ in life, whatever they're doing.

Yes! To see them live, especially in those early days, was magical. I'm pretty sure this video was recorded at Hurrah. I might have been there that night. I just saw them at the Beacon Theatre the other night. Still magical!
On second thought, maybe it's not at Hurrah and I would have remembered those bright video lights, so I was not there. But they were fantastic at Hurrah... and everywhere else.

Saw this band in Asbury Park NJ opening for Talking Heads . They should have been top bill . 66years old still loving this . Got a chance to meet one on the boardwalk . A nice unpretentious chap .
I'm 56. I remember when they were the musical guest on SNL - back when SNL was actually a funny and great show. My friend and I were about 13 at the time and we were making fun of them. It wasn't until I was a few years older and new a little more about lead guitar that only then could of I of appreciate how awesome they are.

I always loved them! You can’t help but dance when you hear their music. I remember back in the day when I first bought their album and played the song Rock Lobster and started dancing in our living room my brother cracked up. He said girl you are crazy. Lol. I sometimes wish I could step into a Time Machine and go back to the eighties and never come back to this mess of a future!😢
It is so sad what passes for music these days. I'm 73 years old and am so thankful I had such great music to grow up with. Absolutely timeless!! Rock on till I'm gone.😊
I remember seeing them on SNL, I think it was in 1976 or 1977 , they sang rock lobster and private idaho, they have been one of my favorite party bands ever since , always bring a smile to my face.

I wish I still had the cassette from the soundboard of their SIR rehearsals for the Good Stuff album and subsequent Interdimensional Tourgasm tour to follow. It was incredible to hear their new stuff a couple of weeks before it was even released! Unfortunately a flood took away a lot of my old memorabilia. Still have my memories of that tour though! Fred even rolled me a cigarette backstage!

Conheci o B 52 no Rock'Rio da chuva em 1985 e fiquei fascinado com o novo som. Durante 10 dias me esqueci da Janis Joplin e fiquei com aquela batidinha rápida e ritmada na cabeça. Voltei hoje.
Eu era pequena, mas "Private Idaho" era uma das minhas preferidas do LP do RiR que pedi para o meu pai comprar. :D

One thing that has always bugged me about how some people see the B's is that they dismiss them as a "dance band." Sure - people danced; but this band rocked HARD.

Everyone watch's thier clip's....thinking they are some. Producer made fake group...Seeing them on stage was electric. They brought the party to the audience. Brilliant talent. Totally underated.

Almost eversince I didn't make the connection between B-52's and their songs I've heard until the day before yesterday??? Now that I know who they are, I just understand why they are so legendary.
The day a B-52's vinyl will be placed in the vinyl shelf of the second-hand-goods shop I work in, I'll buy it without hesitation, as much as I did for Tales From The Topographic Oceans and Close To The Edge by Yes...
There are some others bands I must remember to look for their vinyls too, but I would be satisfied if I get at least the 1977 album of Talking Heads or any B-52's album.
I know they could take decades before being got rid by anyone, maybe it will never happen! XD
i had not listened to the music of the B52s prior to watching this collection of videos and live recordings, and I must say that I enjoyed the visuals and the sounds.
I wa so impressed by their sound that I bought a couple of their albums - I wasn't aware of the bands output which to my ear is very good.
Songs missing. " Dance this mess around, Private Idaho, Summer of love, but othetwise an awesome video collection of this great band.

The best party group to have in the house
Boston 2021 "Wearin' next to nothin' cause it's hot as an oven" You got that right !!! My love affair with the B's began when I bought a 7" single in 1978 and has continued ever since. This was a blast to watch, I found myself doing the escaltor more times than I could count. now don't that make you feel a lot better ?
Transported me back to riding my Beach Cruiser on Daytona Beach listening to the B-52s on my Sony Walkman Personal Cassette Player.

Newsflash: most songs from the '60s '70s and '80s aren't "around" any more. A fair amount of stuff from later years will be future classics, even if nothing is likely to top the groundbreaking ferment of '67-'69.

In the song Deadbeat Club, there is a dalmatian that looks just like a dog I used to have in the 90's. It was unusual because it looked like a pit bull with spots. A "Centurion" breed and that's what the dog in this video looks like. I never seen another one iike it until today.

Legal Tender was the first video I ever saw. Parents wouldn't get cable, so I only had access to Video One with Richard Blade. Thank God that Video One played almost anything except top 40. So many good videos, but I could never get Legal Tender out of my mind.
Back in the day Richard Blade also was a DJ for KROQ here in so Cal.
