Damn xeons are very underrated. X79 platform is the cheapest good performance value. I can find a chinese motherboard for $30 and a xeon e5 2650 v2 for $4. I built 5 pc of this paired with rx 580 and rtx 2060
@@rageboi2166 very solid with little to no bottlenecks. Don't expect overclocking on chinese x79 motherboards cause it lacks one but for the price its a good purchase considering that branded ones are 4x the price. I had it for 2 years 4 hours daily usage didn't have any issues

Gday, thanks for this video, these machines are so impressive, I have one myself I just built but I have an RX 6700 non XT, I am having so many issues with getting GPU drivers and just random reboots whenever software tried to install. Have you experienced any odd issues yourself at all?
@@Beisepimp I actually get the issue the second ANY driver is attempted to be installed through Windows. It works if I install them through PowerShell and pull down the inf files that way. But the second I select a driver be installed through Windows updates OR through an application like from GPU vendor, the machine just restarts instantly.

@@Beisepimp I got it worked out. It was my PCIE USB expansion hub. It was working but for whatever reason, was causing this issue. This is the second time I've had a USB powered hub cause hangs and issues on three different systems. One was a USB external hub and this was an internal PCIE card, seems windows doesn't like certain brands.
i think the way to go is get a xeon e5 with 14+ cores . 14+ i say because you can go with 16 / 18 /20 and it will still be worth it here is why i think that is the way to go becasue the companies and developers are developing newer games and optimizing them to utilize more cores / threads so in 5 years from now a game like sons of the forest if it was to be developed in 2028 for example we would see it optimized to utilize more than 10 cores / 20 threads not like garbage they have developed at the start of this year so more and more games will utilize more cores instead of relying on 6 max cores and max and given 2 threads for each core etc so this is the way i see it and i hope i'm right because you can get a xeon for hella cheap

Hi, i've used the RAM that came with this mainboard. It was 32GB in total (4x8GB) 2133 Mhz . The Bios worked directly, recognized the SSD and also booted up fine.

It won't if you OC. These CPUs have massive OC potential especially on newer titles (surprisingly). It's pretty risky though, and you risk frying your VRM as it requires you to pretty much disabled every safe guard on your motherboard.

I have paired a 2680v4 with an Rx 6800 and my results are very slightly lower than these. 4060 handles Ray tracing much better than 6800...of course I'm running 1440p ultrawide

@@aveenof This may not be accurate but it's possible that the Xeon (being an older architecture) doesn't support the required instruction set that Valorant's Vanguard (which is a kernal level anti-cheat) requires to operate. Or it might be that the Xeon being a server CPU, is just not supported by the Anti-cheat.
@@Daygunjim It might just be a windows 11 thing with Valorant on an older Xeon. As far as I know it has all the currently supported instruction sets for games. If you were using an x56 Xeon you'd run into instruction set issues with some games, specifically anything that runs avx instructions for sure. To be completely sure someone would have to run the same Xeon on windows 10 and attempt Valorant. It may also be completely related to the anti cheat as you've mentioned.
I'm still using also private Windows 10 , since i don't like 11 a lot.. :'D Buut here this CPU does not support Windows 11 , i could install it but then Valorant will not run, soo i'm staying on Win10 as long as possible with older builds. :-)
I've not tested it out, but for editing it should be still fine these days. Also for streaming, but that depends on your settings you will use in OBS. :-)

If you do some sketchy stuff with your bios, you can overclock these things and they can perform impressively well.

Don't trust the power usage in MSi Afterburner, this is an Aliexpress mainboard, so the power read could be wrong! :-)

Just check if "Resizable Bar" is enabled in your bios and is also supported, otherwise you will loose a lot of performance with your ARC GPU.
