What I love about your videos Roger, is that you always keep a feed. There are a lot of good fishing channels, but it frustrates me that they almost always catch and release. I go fishing cos I love eating fish!
Hi Roger love the video content , here is a tip , buy a dog ball chucka , to throw bait balls in water , works great as you can put sand and bread in scoop and allow you to not get hands in mixture and helps free up not having to clean hands.
Yes we've had serious disease problems in se Queensland due to people using imported prawns and introducing white spot to our wild prawns. It devastated the prawns and the industry for a while. Please don't use imported prawns for bait. The Mekong Delta river system is one of the most polluted waterways in the world. I refuse to eat prawns caught there.
Biosecurity do advise against using prawns bought from supermarkets or fishmarkets as bait. Even if they are a product of Australia. Thing is, imported prawns are often sold alongside the Australian ones, and the fishmongers are not required to change gloves etc. each time they handle a product (for obvious reasons), so the risk of cross-contamination is still very real.
@@owenli7180 that makes a lot of sense. Yeah we don't need our fishing areas contaminated with anymore diseases that we don't have here in our beautiful country.
@@freddyassalt1190unsalted pillies are best all round, especially for snapper and gummies if in vic. Salmon eat anything mate, salted are better in tougher conditions as they stay on hooks better
@@freddyassalt1190 Aussie Salmon won't care. If they are in the water, they will swallow them up. I use extremely well salted pilchards which are almost like rubber and catch salmon easily. Will save you A LOT of headache, since that thing won't come off the hook unless it's really rough out there.
That's Australia 17:34 😂😂😂 I could say the same here in Brazil...I do keep losing rigs on the rocks and sometimes some lures. these rocks ruins my finances 😂😂
“….I’ve got plenty, I’ll let it go……but I will have another cast”…..Gotta love it Roger. What a great session and such a variety of fish.
"Just one more cast..... just one more cast." We've all been there, haha. Top vid as always mate.
Haha ain’t that the truth

I love the good vibe Roger never fails to bring.
Try using pilchards with a float 2 meters deep and you will stop catching the usual salmon 😊
There was a warning by the DPI not to use supermarket prawns for bait because of white spot scare.

I think you're ok to use Australian prawns, but imported are a greater risk. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Cheers Roger, another great video.
Great session!! Not many say they’ve got plenty so let them go. Always awesome watching you catch fish 🎣👍🏼 look forward to the next video 😊
Your a legend Roger, love your sessions on the beach.
Do you boil them red rock to eat how do you prepare
Yeah. What's the best way to cook em, Roger?
In Japan we call those red rock cod Kasago. They are great eating. They make great sashimi and deep fried whole are great too.
I simply love this channel from all others. Well done Roger
Way to go Roger. Do you usually use mono off the rocks? I get snagged off the rocks a lot. Shame to waste good braid
Hey Roger, are they local, Australian, or imported prawns?
which pilchard is better - salted or not salted and to be abit more specific i like to target aussie salmon
Yeah, good question. Can you just buy regular frozen pilchards and salt them yourself?
@@badass.bob1 i usally buy them already salted but i want to know if buying already salted pilchards is better than not salted

I use only fresh Pilchard.
If they get a bit too soft, I wrap some elastic bait thread around them to secure them.

Watching your RUclips is part of our life 😊
Love it 🤙
i enjoy your videos , another great session Roger
Gday Roger thanks for the great no fuss videos. What shoes do you wear for beach and rock fishing?
a great video. have you ever used a pennel hook setup instead of a half hitch, much better for holding a long bait in place.
No I haven't. It looks similar to what people call a snood rig.
Love red rock cod yummmm
Great video again thanks Roger 💪🏽
Learned alot with your videos, thanks👍
Loving every video Roger thanks mate!
Glad you like them!
Great vid ! Is the guys name Ron ? Your friend that dives for the lobsters.

How to fish where there are stones and rocks?
Just wondering eastern state or wa
Eastern state NSW
@RogerOsborneFishing cheers champ keep up the awesome work
Good day you had out there Roger,
Wish fishing was as productive here in South Africa
Our issue here is almost every fish caught is kept 🤬🤬
Salmon are gd bait at times.the oily flesh acts as a burley at the same time
We also call those rock cods "the mother in-law" fish.
I was waiting for a Green eel what a pain in the butt they are.
Apparently these are venomous , I caught one and was so afraid getting the hook out lol .
Isn’t it against the law to use fish market prawns as bait?
The prawns that I used were Australian local produce.
It’s called a sculpin
Roger, mate there rock cale, not rock cod.
How often would having a third arm come in handy? Pun intended😊
1 like for the WOOHOO
I think you’re going too hard on your second strike.👍
