I found getting lower weight discs definitely helped my performance, I would buy 172g-max weight drivers and by reducing my disc weights by 10g I've added 50ft+ to my game. I'm 45, I don't have Ezra Aderholds physique but now I can throw 380-400ft. I was/am pretty brand loyal with MVP but a lot of their molds are 171g-177g which makes shopping for plates a slower process.
