I think if he zoomed in with the map it would have been accurate. I noticed one match with the square that it was completely inaccurate and I zoomed in a bit and the square changed to a completely different location.
Looks like you were so good they are now moving it to 7.0 We finally reached such high levels of compression that prop fighters will play against AAM-equipped jets (This Spitfire, 7.0, vs the German premium Sea Hawk Mk.100, 8.0)
It would be facing jets with early heat seeking missiles which means those jets probably would not be able to lock on to the spitfire mk.24 since its engine is in the front and doesn’t give off as much heat as a jet engine. To get a lock you’d have to be super close making it easy for the spitfire mk.24 to dodge.

Honestly I find the Mk 24 to be more fun fighting jets than fighting props. Prop fights tend to get kind of same-y since there are so few things that can really compete with you, but with jets the situation can change so rapidly even in a 1v1 that you have to constantly adapt your tactics. It's also surprisingly doable given the performance difference, honestly the hardest part is knowing how much you need to lead a given target, since jet speeds can get kind of deceptive sometimes.

Why use the 190 A-5/U-12 when you can use the U-2... 2 20mm 151s with plenty of ammo is sufficient firepower, better performance all round compared to all other antons, and then .3 br lower than all other a-5s seems like a good deal to me. And oh yeah the U-2 is my most played plane, love it. Although at that br the allied teams seems to crumble quick making it into a game of "who can quickly get the kills before there's none left."

@@ZorgonKiloEchoLima The U-12 has 2 MG 17 7.62mm MG's extra for a 0.4 BR increase. It's a shitty trade off if you don't want to use the gun pods. The only reason to play something other than the U-2 in that BR range is the high repair cost of the U-2.
Lovely Plane although when playing it on hot maps like Sicily the engine overheats badly when using WEP. Also they moved the Mk22 Spitfire to the same BR as this thing. Not much sense in playing it over the MK 24 anymore.

The bearcat is a beast for the reason you showed as well. Get 2-3 kills in it every game, sometimes more. Early Jets seem to be blind and furball on the silliest targets. Joining the slaughter means getting easy kills, but that’s also doable in another jet. So Gaijin, if you are listening. Just uptier the entire game. Not just the spitfire
That bug is a fan favourite. You can change the zoom and then it gets fixed. It's been like that since like forever, but since Gaijin doesn't play their own game...
just a quick tip for any su-11s you meet: disengage. by the way, su-11s are su-9s with a better and stronger wing structure and new, much better engines their acceleration is *so fast* and energy retention is *so good* that turnfights won't work. head ons will not work. they have 2x 23mm cannons and 1x 37mm cannon. trying to outrun them = death. they acceleration is one of the best at the br. I have outran many planes before. It's achilles heel: against good players - nothing. disengage against average players - try to make him overshoot (without dying) and use that small window of opportunity to kill him against bad players - mommys credit card won't save them lol just try and outturn them because they'll most likely engage flaps, 0% throttle etc etc
Talking about a bug.. i have a match 1 week ago where there's almost no radar.. my team are facing a sun (that shine brighter than i remember) on a snowy map.. i was confused when i see big shadow but no distance even until i get close to shooting distance.. the radar doesnt fixes itself even when we face opposite way.. i asked my mates if they feel the same, and they did. strange match but it was fun
Can I recommend playing the Typhoon mk1b/L again 3 years on from your last video? I'm really enjoying it, sideclimb at 280kph IAS, switch supercharger gear at 2700, radiator to 40% and it never overheats. Really fast in a shallow dive too and turns great.
Hi Adam! I know bombers aren't your thing (they aren't mine either), but I'd really want to see you take the B7A2 out for a game or two, as it's quite capable as a dogfighter. I saw a video of yours where you flew the Ar-234 C-3, and I think similar, if not better results could be achieved with the B7A2.
Spitfire is slower at low alt, as long as the 51H runs at low alt Spit won't kill it Take the fight higher and the Spit will close the speed gap Any attempt at a dogfight is a win for the Spit That's it basically
@@nando_br nope, Mk-24 is only slower than those planes at sea level, except for the K-4 which is slightly slower than the 24 at that alt. Only time the K-4 could be faster is at 4k where the Spit's supercharger gear switches, but even then the Spit outclimbs the K-4 Idk why you're mentioning the Tempest, those will be on the same team anyway
This is how majority of zeros are going to be once they get up Br'ed and the only advantage they're going to have is the ability to turn they wont be able to catch any planes in the upcoming br changes
Nice video Adam, always been kinda interested in late-war Spits, but I'm too lazy to get that far in the Bri'ish tree lol. Also, that A21 around 3:12 was most likely slow because it's probably one of the worst early jets when it comes to speed. It can easily rip in a straight line when spaded and has a lower top speed/rips earlier than your Spitfire lmao. It's not a terrible plane, but I just stick to the SK60, even with the nerfs.

I’ve had that problem with the square not being accurate and I’ve found that the location of it changes if you zoom in on the map, although I haven’t played in a few months so maybe this bug is different
it still baffles me how many jets are willing to turnfight and try to get low and slow with the best spitfire in the game. Enjoy these slightly more sensible matchups, before the thing goes to 7.0...probably due to the ridiculously high quantity of early jet pilots who somehow play through 4 ranks of props only to forget what props are good at. Aaaand i see they still haven't fixed that red square bug either :P

Whats the best nation for planes in your opinion? It could be the easiest to use, or the one you have had most success with. I am really indecisive and I swap inbetween nations, but I want to commit to one. Any thoughts?
Best to learn is likely UK, since their planes are a mix of everything. That's what I recommend when I teach new players the game. I don't recommend committing to one nation though, I'd go through the 4-5 main nations relatively evenly so that you learn the strengths and weaknesses of what you're up against.
Can you maybe make a refresher bud or smt on prop pitch? A lot of planes don’t have an auto setting and I’m not sure how to use it. It’s the only control that I still haven’t got down, I’ve even got mixture and stuff.

Yeah I graduated already, doing a Masters at the moment. Engineering is among the toughest degrees, but if you're motivated, work hard and are organized you'll be fine.
What's up with props being better then jets at altitude? Shouldn't jet engines have much less power loss with altitude then even two stage two speed supercharged piston engines?
Good question! Piston engines with superchargers actually see an increase in power with altitude, at least until they start losing manifold pressure and need to switch gears. Basically props have their performance throttled at low altitude, while jets have their max power at low altitude. So as altitude increases, jets' performance reduces and props stays relatively constant. Another point to mention is that IAS reduces as altitude increases, and props handle better than jets at lower IAS.

@@AdamTheEnginerd 7.0 is pretty low compared to f2h that got 8.0 for being a non swept wing jet with 4 20mm. As for the br I think it used to be 8.0 before 2 patch or so ago. F3D faces a lot of premium A2D. And plenty of 6.0-6.7 uptiered. While it faces other jets the center 4x20mm more than makes up for it imo. You can also turn fight in a pinch with the dummy thick airbrake. Give it a consideration for one. I wanna see what you can do with it.
@@AdamTheEnginerd Outflying enemies in that thing was never the problem, but it could sometimes take a lot of ammo to shoot stuff down. now i'm regularly taking wings off in deflection shots. it's made a big dfifference.

It's at 4.3 and going to 4.7 next update, but it's pretty fun. 4 hispanos absolutely slap, and its low alt performance is king. 5km alt chops engine performance down by a third, though. Mk I and II spitfires overheat on WEP and 100% radiators, and mk I overheats at 100% throttle, so be wary of that if you play them. Absolute skyrockets for 2.7 though.
Love your channel, can you make a video about US 7.0 jet like F80A or F3D? I’ve been playing suffering since over half of the team are A2Ds, they will die in 5 minutes and leaving fighters always overwhelmed like 6v12 or so and just can’t do anything to save the team. With this frustrating situation I just back to grind F2G in order to skip it, or there’s the only way?

I think there's a little lag in the highlighted grid square for one person left, and maybe some innacuracy in plane position reporting as well.
There is lag, but the grid lit up when the enemy was never there. Apparently zooming in on the map fixes the bug.

I’ve had that problem with the square not being accurate and I’ve found that the location of it changes if you zoom in on the map, although I haven’t played in a few months so maybe this bug is different

it still baffles me how many jets are willing to turnfight and try to get low and slow with the best spitfire in the game.
Enjoy these slightly more sensible matchups, before the thing goes to 7.0...probably due to the ridiculously high quantity of early jet pilots who somehow play through 4 ranks of props only to forget what props are good at.
Aaaand i see they still haven't fixed that red square bug either :P
There weren't that many in this match, a decent amount of enemies rightfully extended away.
Apparently the bug can be fixed by zooming in on the map.
Zoom into the map when you're not sure the square is saying the truth. Works for me, it suddenly switches to another square when you zoom in.

Had brit done for a while and just noticed this thing is *7.0* woweewa - here I am thinking props should cap at 5.7.
I use this Spitfire in sim mode quite often. Darent go above BR6.3 games in it as it is badly outpaced by the jets in 6.7 and 7.0.
my fun jet was ho229 its really slow but great maneuverability, still its mm got changed to 7.3 I stoped playing it because it was really too slow

Whats the best nation for planes in your opinion? It could be the easiest to use, or the one you have had most success with. I am really indecisive and I swap inbetween nations, but I want to commit to one. Any thoughts?
Best to learn is likely UK, since their planes are a mix of everything. That's what I recommend when I teach new players the game.
I don't recommend committing to one nation though, I'd go through the 4-5 main nations relatively evenly so that you learn the strengths and weaknesses of what you're up against.

Can you maybe make a refresher bud or smt on prop pitch? A lot of planes don’t have an auto setting and I’m not sure how to use it. It’s the only control that I still haven’t got down, I’ve even got mixture and stuff.

It's the worse climb of the N most likely. It's on my list! But the D28 is much better than the N, no need to force yourself to fly the N.

@@AdamTheEnginerd I usually play low tier and most of the new players would ask 'where is the last guy?' And when I said 'red grid' the last enemy player would always be there but now as in your case it can be one or 2 squares off. You didn't need a 'blind hunt' it was always accurate but not anymore. Anyways big fan of your videos- you, Defyn and Jengar need to hook up again.

@@AdamTheEnginerd Oh, i mean P51 H is 6.3 right? and that thing will out perform every prop driven aircraft, if play it right is basically untouchable. Even mk24 and p51 h is sit at the 6.3 br i would still pick p 51h, it's just a better plane overalls imo.

Yeah I graduated already, doing a Masters at the moment. Engineering is among the toughest degrees, but if you're motivated, work hard and are organized you'll be fine.

What's up with props being better then jets at altitude? Shouldn't jet engines have much less power loss with altitude then even two stage two speed supercharged piston engines?
Good question! Piston engines with superchargers actually see an increase in power with altitude, at least until they start losing manifold pressure and need to switch gears. Basically props have their performance throttled at low altitude, while jets have their max power at low altitude. So as altitude increases, jets' performance reduces and props stays relatively constant. Another point to mention is that IAS reduces as altitude increases, and props handle better than jets at lower IAS.

Hi Adam try F3D sky knight the br has been lowered a lot. Its a monster with 4 20mm and jets in down tier.

@@AdamTheEnginerd 7.0 is pretty low compared to f2h that got 8.0 for being a non swept wing jet with 4 20mm. As for the br I think it used to be 8.0 before 2 patch or so ago.
F3D faces a lot of premium A2D. And plenty of 6.0-6.7 uptiered. While it faces other jets the center 4x20mm more than makes up for it imo. You can also turn fight in a pinch with the dummy thick airbrake.
Give it a consideration for one. I wanna see what you can do with it.

@@AdamTheEnginerd Outflying enemies in that thing was never the problem, but it could sometimes take a lot of ammo to shoot stuff down. now i'm regularly taking wings off in deflection shots. it's made a big dfifference.

@@AdamTheEnginerd I'd recommend the mkVc/tropical spitfire. It's at 4.3 and going to 4.7 next update, but it's pretty fun. 4 hispanos absolutely slap, and its low alt performance is king. 5km alt chops engine performance down by a third, though.
Mk I and II spitfires overheat on WEP and 100% radiators, and mk I overheats at 100% throttle, so be wary of that if you play them. Absolute skyrockets for 2.7 though.

Love your channel, can you make a video about US 7.0 jet like F80A or F3D? I’ve been playing suffering since over half of the team are A2Ds, they will die in 5 minutes and leaving fighters always overwhelmed like 6v12 or so and just can’t do anything to save the team.
With this frustrating situation I just back to grind F2G in order to skip it, or there’s the only way?
F80 is a good starter jet. I'm surprised teams are bad for the US at that BR though.
