This was high tech back in 1964, the year of my birth.

This is fantastic. Are these vids/slideshows available for other years such as 1966?

The concepts for 1966 are the same. I also recommend Cadillac Tim's book available at www.cadillactim.com It helped me fix the AC in my 1966 and I'm not at mechanic at all. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

2:47 Cadillac obviously did NOT hire a “hand model” (yes, a real profession) to photograph this. Look at that nasty, dirty mechanic’s fingernail! Yecchh.

Dont convert your Caddy to R134A, its too warm.

In Europe R12 is not allowed. So there is no other option than converting to R134a.

I have never cared for this type of thing. I prefer to adjust the temperature, fan speed and mode of operation myself. Unfortunately today, this is the only thing that you can buy unless you purchase a low end vehicle.

I can sympathize. I like the automatic temp piece, but warm *only* comes out at feet, and cold *only* comes out of dash vents. Fortunately, one can add switches to override it and discreetly hide them in an ash tray.
