Thank you! I'm so glad you addressed the safety issue. I always tell people "You do you, and I'll do me". I can only imagine the comments people have made concerning Your safety! Great job on the shifter knob.
My dad always told me - "son, if you're gonna be stupid, you better be tough". I've lived by that credo pretty much my whole life but you also must accept responsibility for your choices, no matter how good or bad they may have been.
Awesome morning brother !!! Just woke up lol !!! My morning lol !!! My work time is 10 pm to 6 am !!!!! Thanks for another genius idea !!! Your genuine craftsmanship is deeply appreciated !!! I salute you brother !!! And thank you for the quotation !!! Words that are true as rain !!!! Hope yall are having a leeka day say hi to everyone for me !!!!
I back you 100% for your comments about personal responsibility. Common sense is no longer common it seems. Bing watched this build over several days. Thanks for everything you do.
Great looking Gear Knob Div. Great words too. I reckon pain is a great teacher. Best lesson ever and you tend to remember it. Keep it up Div we're all loving it 👍
I'm a safety freak like you can't believe. Never occurred to me to say a word to you, Dif. You know your stuff. No worries. Love the shift knob. Inspiring.
I started watching your channel cause it was recommended by Brent from Halfass Kustoms way up here in Canada and lm very grateful he did You sir are are a craftsman at heart. Your builds are great. Working with what you have and creating awesome custom works of rolling art. Your commentary is great too. Have a good one.
Yes, i watch both Halfass Kustoms and Rat Rods For Africa too, both are brilliant at what they do, the way they go about getting things done, their content and their sense of humour, subbed top both!
Hey Diff, I spent my entire life working with my hands. Do I know better than some of the things I do? Yes! But the safety glasses are scratched, the gloves have the thumb tore out and the earplugs are in the other truck. And sometimes I'm just too eager. To me, common sense is using our life experience to make decisions today. Those of us who have done much fare better than those who have not. And I can show you the scars of all my experience!:) Some people need to lighten up and enjoy the ride. You only get one!:) Thanks!
Hello Diff the last two videos were awsome, I enjoyed the music and the scenery. I agree a 100 % with you about common sense. I only hope the world doesn't lose it. I had a good laugh when you were talking about your gear knob ( or your little guy ) he could be your rusty nut. Lol Cheers 🍺🍺
I agree 100% with your words of wisdom. People are getting too happy to blame others for their own actions . The gear nob is awesome too! Been trying to think of something different to the normal for my volksrod and you just proved it can be done with a little imagination. Thanks for a brilliant channel and keep the videos coming 😃
Div, your ending quote was right on! Add the sad fact that people now tend to justify and excuse their carelessness by reasoning that if they are injured they can put the blame on someone else and hire an attorney for do sue for exorbitant damages and enjoy early retirement to lick thier wounds.
G'day Div.! love the gear knob, once again your sense of humour and creativity shines through with the pissed off face gear knob. It is also in keeping with the rest of the rat rod truck that has your stamp of humour and creativity all over it. Love your work man, keep the video's coming. Best wishes, John, Perth, Western Australia
G'day Div! 🤙🏻 Great job on the gear selector knob, fair dinkum mate, the "angry" face looks great!.....really suits your Rat truck! Cheers Div!.....🍻🇦🇺

I agree fully with your understanding on safety. Its hard to find anyone with any common horse sense that knows how to use it.They are to deep in all that their computers tell them.Use the common sense safety comes naturally. By the way dig the knob.Just to throw this out there the face might need a tongue. I always make two or three to change when my mood changes. Most old geezers think alike.Your a great teacher.More power to White haired.
@@ratrodsafrica regulation is a tricky subject. Very worthy of discussion. Like many, I’m very frustrated by it and annoyed that I can’t be left alone to live my life as I want, and do the things I want… as long as nobody gets hurt. But what if somebody DOES get hurt? I have a ‘73 Dodge Dart that I bought over a year ago. I’m collecting parts and keeping it running while I prepare for a mild restoration. It needs suspension work up front (and probably the rear too). But I don’t really know what I’m doing. I want to learn by DOING it, and that comes with risks to ME, which I fully accept. But what about the risks to others of putting my potentially badly repaired car on the road? I see the “right to repair” as fundamental, but I worry that people who are totally incompetent (myself possibly included) will be risking the safety of OTHER people. And that’s why regulation developed. I think the growing “idiocy” of the people is why it’s spreading like wildfire. But what’s the solution!?!
BAD AZZ shifter knob brother! 💪🏼👿 You've given me an ideal for my Ford truck shifter knob. It would be awesome with a LED light inside, lol. I agree with you 100% about the regulations of the sissies of the world. If I choose to do something, then it's my fault. If you don't like the way I do something, then there is the door... Kick Azz Always my Brother!!! 💪🏼. Love from Florida 🇺🇲
I am glad to hear that you share my view on responsibility. Thank you for including that in one of you video's. The knob is pure genius man! Love your style.
They should make it mandatory that in order to graduate you must take 2 Years of common sense….The problem though would that most would fail class…🤔👍😂 as always Duff….your ending message was spot on sir! Enjoyed the video….👍 have a great rest of the week young man. 👍🇺🇸🙏
Love it ! Can you get ahold of a red LED light ? Soldering a piece of copper tube along the back of shifter to run wire . Cut the gear pattern into his forehead . Love your work . 🍻🍻🍻
Cool knob. Maybe think about a blue or red LED inside it? Would be a cool lighting effect. Even a multicolor LED or LEDs inside wired up, then you can change the color at will or turn it off if you get tired of it? Still enjoying your creativity as always.
Hey Diff : love your videos, your closing statement about the safety freaks i completely agree with!! Went to the scrap yard yesterday and picked up some metal with the intentions of copying your break to some degree. I will post the video of how it goes...wish me luck!!
Hey Div. Another great video. I really like that knob. You have a great imagination. I just might make one similar to that for my Fargo. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍

Thanks for your "Responsibility" rant. It's good to see that I'm not the only one who feels that way. BTW, I like that shift knob.
Good to hear from a brother who feels the same way
Life does have its ups and downs. Hobbies are needed to help us control these. Having fun and fulfilling those ups and down is what life does.

Thanks boet. Teach them kids right!
Nice shift knob and I couldn't agree more with the quote and your commentary . We'll soon have stop signs on the top of step ladders.

Love the ladder comment 👍🇺🇸⚜️🔥

Love it! A couple of little devil horns on that emoji shifter would look pretty cool.
Not a bad idea! Version 2.0 😂
great idea on using the emoji, an artefact of modern culture incorporated into the age-old rat rod 😊
Never thought of it that way! Great observation!
Have a good day Duff
