I'm an older person. I picked a job and stuck with it. I never found out what I was meant to do. It's good to have a social circle but something I have avoided, as I am a loner. I often wondered how my life would have turned out if I made deep friendships when I was younger. I am pretty stubborn though lol.

Hi friend, personally I appreciate I have deep friendships although my social circle is very small, I can always find something new about myself and relationship between. However I also know very true that life is a lonely journey and never expect someone by my side forever. So I would say wish you can be the best friend of yourself, and enjoy the time when spending with others.

I feel you, really, don't know your age but currently I am 24, quit my office job last year to write novels and set up my channel, not an easy journey but here I am, phew= = RUclips basically is hell for beginners (views and subscribers, etc) but I could say a lot of famous RUclipsrs've been through that stage. We came from the same place, you could always change your life if you're desperate to, maybe you could try volunteering in foreign countries? I am not sure about your definition of "quit", but I wish you good luck and all the best!

I feel encouraged to live! I too struggle to live in the present. Right now I am an eager 22 year old who got laid off from my job and so I gave myself a month to focus on art, so I could enter an art academy and go pro. But I find it difficult to focus on studies when I always give my attention away to: youtube, videogames and other quick hits of dopamine. I can recall you saying that you don't desire any distractions and that made me super happy !!! You don't make the battle for your dream life impossible by engaging with more shit on the daily basis then you need to, huge respect. You seem like a person with a very strong heart, so as long as you let yourself pursuit the image that you want your life to look like, you'll make it a reality, no doubt about it. Anxiety is probably here to stay, but it is what it is... :D This video left me fired up ! :D Thank you for sharing your thoughts, you got this!

Lynn, you are just starting. you have a long road ahead.
keep on, if you run into someone you can team up with, even if humble, but otherwise a good match, build your family.
the other choice would be a materialistic meaningless life, no matter how much you like what you do.
life is hard, it will always be hard. A big empty house is no match for small house with kids.
how many kids can you have in china as of now? just curious, i know even just one is a big expense.

Hi! Thank you so much for your advices!! Very useful and practical, 20s is so hard but important and cherish, try to make it good. We can have 2-3 kids now, but you know very well even marriage and one kid small family could be unreachable for many young generations due to the living pressure and the career uncertainty etc.

Before quitting just try working a bit less and spending that time on yourself, you may find that your problem is not work itself but overworking. Also, I know it sounds counter-intuitive but feeling obligated to work to support family/kids feels better than not having any reason to struggle at all. That's just how the human brain is evolved to function.
BTW, is your name "Lín" in Pinyin? I'm just starting to try to learn some Mandarin.

Work hard to earn enough to have a good life. Even more importantly, get married and have two kids. If you're a lesbian, get kids through donor. Family is the only good investment for the future. Everything else is all fleeting.

I would say if you want time and choice freedom, you'll need financial freedom, which will require investing. The most important component of investments is time due to the compounding effect. I think since you are young, you should look into this now. If you can put some money into‚ for example, quality stocks and index funds or ETFs that track the S&P 500, your future self will thank you. I don't know how investments are regulated and taxed in China, but I'm sure you can find out the appropriate investment account types and suitable investments.
