NHL games rock these days every game is cool and bit different and deking actually takes skill and reactions if you want to really own with em... got to love how good this game has got over the past few years.
ive been thinking about upgrading from nhl 2k8 but im not sure if i should wait until the next season comes. This game does look better than what i have but at first glance the ice appears to be too big, maybe its just me.
@Th3R34LR47 I have to agree .. the game is really really different this year ... I didnt like it at first but now that i have gotten the hang of it .. dekes are much harder in this one ... but it appears that many can pull them off if timed just right ... also defence dont just let you skate past them on pro anymore ... i used to cross the net every time now i have to actually deke properly for that kind of thing to work ....

@iaretryhard but thats realistic, when you do that move on the ice, you lose a lot of speed and you have to take a couple strides to get your speed back up
Hi. My tip for be a pro mode is that you have the same as in Fifa where you can be called to play for youre country in things like world cup and also start as a rookie and work youre way up in youre carer.
@TheOutlawLangdon PS3 controls are exactly the same as 360 just L1 instead of LB as they say in the video I would imagine the direction is gonna be towards the side of the screen your skating towards like the aiming controls.
@Jackson5fanforever Oh sorry, You go to EA sports world, sign in. It will show like a 3D avatar creater, you can change that to a 2D creator. The 2D avatar creater is the one that appears in the bottom right screen
@24xEBK No those are penallties with misconducts/ suspensions, a bench clering brawl is a team DQ so the entire team will forfet the game if there is one.
what they should add in to nhl 12 is goalie fights, breaking glass, Ability to play first year in CHL to determin what your starting overall instead of 73 or 74 every time. another great thing would be make teams like the major junior A league, Alberta Junior A, teams like that so we have ability to start at 16 or 17 instead of 18, realistic for be a pro- make it something road to the nhl....
@brutusmonk100 actually if you ever considered playing practice mode, all the defender has to do is touch the puck OR the goalie stop the puck... Nuff said

It's a nice alternative for when you can't get access to any ice. People kept spamming me to play MAG - don't they know that Hockey pwns? Other then NHL 11 I've just got sports crazed this year. Even got myself PES 2011. Awesome football game.

@margarettapolarbears stamkos has 24, sid has 26, ovie has a measly 12.... sid also has 51 total points, and stamkos has 44, while ovie only has 36. Right now, sid is clearly the best player in the league.
@jasonsvw be a scout? that would get boring after what like 5 minutes? in be a gm you can "scout" players in that game red vs blue, ref mods on the other hand wouldnt get boring IF if they added like extream fight that yyou have to time right to break up and players falling and take out your legs or slaming you in, also fan outbreak and jumping pb to pb.
IF anyone is interested in a great quick deke for shoot outs ... use the through the legs deke with a right handed player then the move ends just before the net and goalie almost always goes down .. if you do a one handed reach around at this point you will almost always go right around the goalie. As soon as i can get a clip where my stick doesnt got through the goalie ... i am gonna post it here and on EAsports.com Done it three or four times now on EAUHL team... works on left side but harder
@24xEBK Have you ever played hockey before in your life kid, thats not even close to what the third man in rule is for. and i like how your getting a defencive just cause i corrected you about the glass breaking.

@NhlFreak90 When you get past the redline, press the left trigger and release quickly. This works for me as a sort of speed-burst/pushing the puck.

When you were on the main menu down in the bottom right where it said EAliveTEAM to the right, how did you get that face?

@DEEZYYxx In eashl every single play they just curl up top of the faceoff circle and laucnh the puck top left and it goes in 95% of the time.

You should be able to choose how you tape your stick in Be a Pro mode or in the game in general. Make the game a LITTLE more realistic..
