I haven’t played GH since the GH3 ps2 port when was a kid. Went by my local video game shop the other day and the dude is selling his guitars for so cheap, might end up buying one and getting back into this amazing game.

It's crazy how much clone hero has outstripped the games it took inspiration from. The high level dynamics on the drums way increase the "authentic" feel that the RB drums started (with the cymbal expansion), and customizability is worlds better. Amazing work
You know what’s surprising? Most songs on Rock Band were already mapped for E-drums/Pro-Drums day 1. That’s the roadmap they had and it shows how committed, plan driven and future proof Harmonix were since they released their first game. Totally with you on loving the game and I actually prefer RB charts than anything else.

I really thought the Clone Hero project was mostly abandoned, but seeing this months later I'm so happy, this truly feels like a V1 of the game, they've put so much work, the servers, the drum compatibility, so on... so much great work for free! The CH developpers are truly too good to be humans

GREAT!!! i was able to set up everything almost flawlessly the first time... I play drums, so the only confussion was forgetting not all GH title carry drums... once i got that arranged and deleted, only keeping RB and GH files with drums, everything seems to work pretty well. TONS of songs, im going to have to start a streaming channel now that i have so many songs ready for playing to! thanks a ton
I’ve known about Clone Hero for a bit but never gave it much thought until I started to have that itch to play GH again. Hooked up my EKit and got to work. Absolutely amazing feeling playing these songs again.
I'm happy for the CH crew that they finally got this out of beta. The amount of customization I'm seeing here looks bonkers. I don't play 6 fret but now I wish I had a controller for it now that it has color profile support. That monochrome fretboard from GHL was always hard for me to read.
0:45 and the award for high school quote of the year goes to. that said since I can make my own color profile, I can finally read hopos with 6 fret with my colorblind eyes.
I downloaded it a few days ago since I finally got a PC, and being a lover of GH3 I just had to... I was surprised seeing the new update, and while looking for songs, I saw a leave the door open silk sonic chart. I thought that song was nice, so I downloaded it, little did I know it was a drums chart... but I still wanted to play it... SO I was playing a drums chart.. on a guitar. Song went hard still.

I currently have my keyboard set up with MidiDrumHero. Also would you recommend getting a E-Drum for Clone Hero? I currently have the Band Hero drums but the problem I have with it is that the foot pedal sometimes registers a single kick as a double kick.

Thanks for this great video! I LOVE the to the point tutorials and try to do the exact same style myself. I'm really excited to try Clone Hero with my E-kit. I've been playing Rock Band since it released and appreciate an alternate option. Especially with the ridiculous prices of replacement MIDI Pro adapters and the PDP Xbox One adapter. Thankfully my stuff still works but I can't see paying $1k for a new PDP adapter lol.
Definitely awesome, I hope to have real 5 lane drums support someday. But at least can play Guitar hero world tour Definitive edition for them. Both clone hero and GHWTDE are so much fun with custom content!

Probably not in Clone Hero, the devs have said no future updates will include new features. The CH devs are working on an original project called Strikeline though, which might include vocals.
If you have guitar hero drums it is possible to make it work. The problem with gh drums is that red and yellow is the same button. If you open it up and cut the wires for yellow and orange (so orange is Yellow). One thing, it has 1 smal wire in it. Separate the coppers to 2 sections and And then connect them together. Then it works! Everyone doesn’t have the money for new drums so good thing to try if you have a drum set waiting for you! Hopefully you understood everything, my English is sadly not the best.
I'll get myself a guitar controller for this eventually, for now I've just been using gamepad mode and constantly pressing the wrong notes like an idiot lol. Never tried playing using a keyboard yet so no idea how well that would work.

I'm fine on expert on the drums but not as much with guitar as some songs are insane on expert.
I have the Nitro and have played TONS on the turbo as well. Youre not missing much when it comes to just playability. How fucking rad is it though that we have so many choices for gear now that almost any budget can play!!!

I need help. I have the white rock band wii drums with the usb but it seems that only red is registering and green, yellow and blue aren’t. But I got them to map so they obviously work they just aren’t registering in game. Any ideas why?

a choice box popped up for me before the install that was probably cut off in the video. but it was something about installing the game for all users or just for me. what do i choose?
Can anyone tell me if they've gotten USB 3.0 ports on their computer to work with Clone Hero? My Alesis Command Mesh Kit will NOT respond to pads setup on USB 3.0 via my ROG laptop, but when I plug the SAME cable into an old ass computer with 2.0 ports that lags like crazy, the pads register for mapping setup no problem. WTF???? Weird thing is that BOTH 2.0 and 3.0 port will show on input. This is driving me crazy because no one has an answer that I can find, and I can't play smoothly on the old 2.0 USB port computer.
I use macbook and am fairly new to this kind of stuff with downloading the songs onto a folder and using it for clone hero but i still get the default songs even after adding the song folder to the game and scanning the songs. How do i fix this
I'm playing Clone Hero on Steam Deck and it mostly works great (in desktop mode) but I can't get video backgrounds to work at all, neither the song-specific ones or anything in the customs folder. According to the readme, Clone Hero on Linux doesn't support mp4s so you have to use ogvs or webms. I tried both. Webms are recognized in Clone Hero and can be selected as your custom background, but they don't actually play during the song and ogvs aren't recognized at all. I know most of you are probably on Windows, but has anyone found a fix for this?
Can you make a video on installing songs for new people not very tech savvy? like when i download a GH3 songlist from the spreadsheet, do i just add the folder to the folder list?
nah bro i gotchu. go to the folder for clone hero, where everything else is and just make a new folder called songs. doesnt have to be called songs you could name it hentai collection or some dumb shit doesnt matter. just need a place for everything to be to save yourself from having to make multiple file paths. put any songs you download, in your case the entire gh3 folder, in that new folder, then go to the clone hero app, go to settings > general > manage song paths. you click add new, navigate back to that new folder you made, hentai collection or whateva, then hit select folder. if u did it right, you should see the fancy schmancy file path to that new folder. then, all you gotta do is hit scan songs, and everything should be in your library.

How would you chart a song for Deadly Dynamics? Is there a Moonscraper/EoF update for this? Or does it somehow chart in those notes automatically?
You can chart accents and ghosts in EOF, moonscraper just added flags for them recently
