    I saw the original video and he spent ages convincing the little one to leave his cup, bringing lots of shells. His air was running out and he thought if he couldnt get him the right shell he would have to return to the surface and would never find the little creature again.
    At the last minute he finally found the shell that satisfied the little octopus!

    A guy is doing this for hermit crabs on the beach, too. He's finding hermit crabs using bottle tops and cups to live in. So he brings his own supply of shells and lets them choose the one they like. He says it takes from 5 to 35 minutes for them to pick out a new home. It's great to watch.😊💙🦀🐚

      @m.bird. Caps and cups don't protect the animal. They don't provide room for the crab to move around in, they have poor ventilation and plastic chemicals can affect the crabs overall health over time. Hermit crabs don't live in one shell their whole life. They need to molt and usually need at least three shells in a lifetime.

    Edit: For those people who are being judgemental about watching too much TV and not having faith, I stopped watching brain-dead TV and gave it away over 10 years ago and don't watch dystopian series. And yes, I have faith - over the years, I have rescued several animals - dogs, cats, birds, bats, snakes, to name some.
    But to the guys trying to sound as if they have so much faith, have you seen human beings fight with street dogs for food? Have you stood in the concentration camps in Auschwitz and Birkenau and felt the pain of those gone? Have you dedicated years of your life volunteering without asking for anything? I have. So I see life very differently to you. Deal with it.
    So keep your judgements to yourself and do something to change the world rather than give opinions!

      That plastic cup shouldn't even be there and it is *humanitys* fault that it is.

      The plural of octopus is octopuses, not octopi.

    • @mikemullecker3235
      @mikemullecker3235 4 дня назад

      @@CiaraOSullivan1990 actually if you look it up in Webster's dictionary both octopi are octopuses are acceptable. If you research it, the plural term comes from the Latin use of placing an "i" instead of a "us" on several words like cacti for cactus instead of cactuses.
      Either way it really doesn't matter but yes you are correct in saying that octopuses is more commonly used. I guess I'm still using the original Latin word that is usually preferred in Marine Biology Classes. In the end I just thought that you would like to know, you seem inquisitive ( please stay that way) Take care my friend 👍
