Great video, thanks. Another good reason to not put petattack into every macro is that sometimes, while soloing, you might want to have your pet start on one target while pulling another with SSting + immo trap. Having pet attack on everything makes your pet spend time running from target to target rather than dealing damage if you're pulling multiple targets.

After checking out the vid, some tiny ideas: - For the idea of having "petattack" "dash" etc... into all your spells, you can use the second action bar (the hidden one) for dungeon and raid set up, and the first one for outdoor content where you can freely send your pet to any target, for more freedom and reactivity. - Added on the subreddit, repeating here: just for scouting "/cast [@cursor] !Eagle eye" to spam it at will by pressing to cover a whole zone. Also, a question: For traps, if you're used to having one key where it feels more intuitive, I'd use a [mod:shift] to cast the other trap, but with your petpassive-petfollow set up (which is smarter obviously) I'm not sure you can apply the mod to a petpassive, you can't right? @@muhshuh I cant get this macro to work unfortunately.. does it work in duels? FD seems to take a few seconds to drop combat so Freezing Trap wont cast.

Common strategy is to put your pet to stay when using FD+Ice Trap combo so that way you can set your pet to attack right away after being done casting with Aimed Shot.
Thanks! Yeah no problem. It's pretty simple, it targets the nearest enemy, starts your Auto Shot and casts Multi-Shot. I put the Auto Shot line in there so it will start your auto shot when you press it even when Multi-Shot is on cooldown.
I use to have a macro that would Concussive shot if I was greater than 8 yards and if I was in melee range I would wing clip, but I can not figure out how to make it work in classic! Have you messed with this combination before?
I have tested your first macro and as I assumed, I get the threat pretty quickly if I start auto shot immediately. I usually let the pet take threat up and then start my autoshot. That way am not having to run after the first two shots as I become the target. Please let me know what I am doing wrong. Also, why not add Hunter's Mark into that first Macro...surely you start with that?

nope those are all of em! And for me i just like to separate those two functions. Some hunters like to go ultimate lazy mode and just combine them, i can see the appeal. So you can if you like!
hey muhshuh, your Classic Scatter Shot macro is correct? I don't know Shatter Shot as ability. And to cast it otherwise on your target shouldn't be something like /cast [@mouseover, harm] [] Scatter Shot ?

Thanks for the guide! These have helped out a ton. Is the Pet Control macro working correctly in Classic? I can summon and put my pet on passive&follow with it, but it does not seem to revive for me when the pet is dead.
re-edit: I figured out why everyone is having problems. Make sure you do not keybind anything to shift of the button the macro is on. Example: I place mine on X. I have to make sure I don't keybind any of my slots to shift-X. Even if you have it empty on your bars it will break the macro.
Ok, I have a question. I've tried to change the aspect of cheetah macro to aspect of the monkey and fuse it into the meelee macro. However it uses mana to activate aspect of the monkey every time I cast it, even if it is already on, is there a line to recognize I already have the aura on, and not to cast it if I have it on?
Yeah, this is how "!" Works in classic unfortunately. I don't see them changing it anytime. No way around it. Oh and no you can't check for the aura to be on in classic (but you could in vanilla).
Hi. Playing on Vanilla. I've been trying to get this macro to work on 1.12, but it keeps breaking. I have to use the Classic version of these otherwise /run results in a Force Taint*** warning from the Blizzard server (Deviate Delight Era). However, there is a pause between feign and placing a trap - not good vs rogue. I have seen Kargoz and Alexsensualx somehow able to use a feign macro without a pause -

Im not sure. In Vanilla there was a macro that start autoshot or autoattack dependent if the target was in the right range. Because autoshot / autoattack didnt swapt to each other automatically, you had to use the abbilitys manualy. Is this still a thing in Classic?
Ah yeah this isn't possible in classic. It worked off CheckInteractDistance() I think? And it used an If statement, which got removed. Was a great macro tho
@@badprice842 from what I could tell watching beta gameplay... No. And this is kind of a problem because the retail macro system doesn't support a spammable ranged auto attack macro. There's no /startattack for Auto Shot. So get your pitchforks if you want blizz to fix it. *shrug*
I remember a spamable macro to use all my ranged attacks like arcane shot and aimed shot on a priority list without canceling my auto attack. Is that still a thing?
Has anyone else has issues with the Frost/Ice Trap and Feign Death macro on Classic? I double tap as per the instructions and i only FD, i never get to place the traps :(

I'd like to have a macro for mob-tagging important quest mobs - something like Arcane Shot (Rank 1) or melee-hitting the nearest target. Do you have any recommendations?

@Lawman another comment said that he couldn't do it while still in the feign death animation. Maybe that's the trigger, made by blizz to prevent it? Ah. Idk. let me know if you find an answer at all
When I use mouse wheel up macro, and enemy is further away than a friendly target, it tries to target the friendly target, any idea on how to fix this?

I didn’t realize everything was this complicated I’m new to wow altogether and leveled to 10 on a Hunter and am super confused I might start over with a easier class
if the macros seem like too much to handle in the beginning don't worry about them! just make sure you create one macro that sends your pet to attack (/petattack) and you're good to go for leveling. Get used to the game first for sure.
Ive actually tried the hunter macro it actually dosnt work, in a wierd way it works somehow when you do the right timing on moving just after you press the trap macro, (yes i do spamm it) but when you feign death it dosnt let you use Freezing Trap unless you move and stand up, so it fucks the macro totally. Im so devestated due to this actually worked every time in vanilla and i cant seem to get it to work!!!! I get raped by rogues and warriors because i cant get away from them once they get close to me :( PLEASE HELP ME FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! THUMP THIS COMMENT UP SO IT GETS NOTICED PLEASE!!!!!! Can you do the first macro so that it has cast hunter's mark baked in, and if you cast it again and the target has hunters mark on it wont reapply it? Im garbage at macros so if anyone can tell me if this works or not? :D
The YAHT timer doesn't seem to be working for me :( it's just going off constantly even when I'm not attacking anything. Downloaded the 2.11 Beta version off github btw..
I had the same problem. What fixed it was going into the addon settings and checking the lock in place option. Once i did that it disappeared and only comes on when attacking.
muhshuh Noob hunter question, at 0:31 are you pressing mouse wheel up (for hunters mark) and auto shot macro like almost at the same time? Hunters mark lands on the target, but It doesn’t look like the hunters mark button on your action bar is being triggered? At 1:07 I see you pressing the button, but at 0:31 it doesn’t look like it?

Rank 1 arcane shots for boss pulls? That's pretty crazy. If the boss is tauntable, you wanna use aimed shot + distracting shot for max threat which will the tank get upon taunting. If its not tauntable, rank 1 is still so low threat that it will immediately run after drinking healers, warriors using bloodrage or battle shout etc. I'd recommend using max rank arcane or just regular distracting shot. You can always use feign death when the target reaches the tank.

I was trying to figure this out (toggle pet attack/follow) for someone on Reddit, but we had a hard time. The best we could do: /cast !Auto Shot /petattack [@pettarget,noexists] /petfollow [@pettarget,exists] That hunter's mark part is not possible anymore. I haven't tested this macro, so let me know I guess.

ah man, this macro might just not work anymore due to classic limitations then. Try removing Counterattack. I'll test it when I get to a high enough level, but I'll be sad if this doesn't work anymore. I'm thinking the retail client might prevent Counter Attack and Mongoose Bite being together.
@@muhshuh Well I was trying some of your macros out and they all worked fine except mouse over. The main one i was trying was scare beast since I dont have scatter shot rn. I tried a few different ways to do it, starting with the one in your link. After checking out the vid, some tiny ideas:
- For the idea of having "petattack" "dash" etc... into all your spells, you can use the second action bar (the hidden one) for dungeon and raid set up, and the first one for outdoor content where you can freely send your pet to any target, for more freedom and reactivity.
- Added on the subreddit, repeating here: just for scouting "/cast [@cursor] !Eagle eye" to spam it at will by pressing to cover a whole zone.
Also, a question: For traps, if you're used to having one key where it feels more intuitive, I'd use a [mod:shift] to cast the other trap, but with your petpassive-petfollow set up (which is smarter obviously) I'm not sure you can apply the mod to a petpassive, you can't right? Thanks in advance!

Common strategy is to put your pet to stay when using FD+Ice Trap combo so that way you can set your pet to attack right away after being done casting with Aimed Shot.

Thanks! Yeah no problem. It's pretty simple, it targets the nearest enemy, starts your Auto Shot and casts Multi-Shot. I put the Auto Shot line in there so it will start your auto shot when you press it even when Multi-Shot is on cooldown.

I use to have a macro that would Concussive shot if I was greater than 8 yards and if I was in melee range I would wing clip, but I can not figure out how to make it work in classic! Have you messed with this combination before?

I have tested your first macro and as I assumed, I get the threat pretty quickly if I start auto shot immediately. I usually let the pet take threat up and then start my autoshot. That way am not having to run after the first two shots as I become the target. Please let me know what I am doing wrong. Also, why not add Hunter's Mark into that first Macro...surely you start with that?
yeah you can stick it in there if you like! I like being able to change targets a lot though, so I separate them.

nope those are all of em! And for me i just like to separate those two functions. Some hunters like to go ultimate lazy mode and just combine them, i can see the appeal. So you can if you like!

hey muhshuh, your Classic Scatter Shot macro is correct? I don't know Shatter Shot as ability. And to cast it otherwise on your target shouldn't be something like /cast [@mouseover, harm] [] Scatter Shot ?
well this is embarrassing... Scatter shot yes.. oh and yes! That is the best version of the macro you have there. I didn't want the video to get too complex explaining that one. I plan on using it myself. /cast [@mouseover,harm][] Scatter Shot
Great video. Is there a way to bind all ranks of multishot without a modifier? E. G. If mana is too low it will cast rank 1, 2 or 3 on spam?

Is the Pet Control macro working correctly in Classic? I can summon and put my pet on passive&follow with it, but it does not seem to revive for me when the pet is dead.
re-edit: I figured out why everyone is having problems.
Make sure you do not keybind anything to shift of the button the macro is on.
Example: I place mine on X. I have to make sure I don't keybind any of my slots to shift-X. Even if you have it empty on your bars it will break the macro.

Ok, I have a question. I've tried to change the aspect of cheetah macro to aspect of the monkey and fuse it into the meelee macro. However it uses mana to activate aspect of the monkey every time I cast it, even if it is already on, is there a line to recognize I already have the aura on, and not to cast it if I have it on?
Yeah, this is how "!" Works in classic unfortunately. I don't see them changing it anytime. No way around it.
Oh and no you can't check for the aura to be on in classic (but you could in vanilla).

Mongoose bite doesn't work in the macro. Tried different orders, but it will always prioritize wingclip and skip mongoose bite.

I have to use the Classic version of these otherwise /run results in a Force Taint*** warning from the Blizzard server (Deviate Delight Era). However, there is a pause between feign and placing a trap - not good vs rogue. I have seen Kargoz and Alexsensualx somehow able to use a feign macro without a pause -

That dialog box shows when you use the vanilla only macros. Make sure you get the classic versions!

Im not sure. In Vanilla there was a macro that start autoshot or autoattack dependent if the target was in the right range. Because autoshot / autoattack didnt swapt to each other automatically, you had to use the abbilitys manualy. Is this still a thing in Classic?
Ah yeah this isn't possible in classic. It worked off CheckInteractDistance() I think? And it used an If statement, which got removed. Was a great macro tho

@@badprice842 from what I could tell watching beta gameplay... No. And this is kind of a problem because the retail macro system doesn't support a spammable ranged auto attack macro. There's no /startattack for Auto Shot. So get your pitchforks if you want blizz to fix it. *shrug*

I'd like to have a macro for mob-tagging important quest mobs - something like Arcane Shot (Rank 1) or melee-hitting the nearest target. Do you have any recommendations?
Apparently best tagging is to use explosive trap on the spawn point. After that I'd prob just spam wing clip

I've actually noticed that hunter's mark has a weird error where it says can't cast at friendly target even when using just he basic spell. maybe it's a bug on blizzard's end. i'll test soon

make sure you use the classic version of the macro (2nd one). The first one in italics is for vanilla only.

I didn’t realize everything was this complicated I’m new to wow altogether and leveled to 10 on a Hunter and am super confused I might start over with a easier class
if the macros seem like too much to handle in the beginning don't worry about them! just make sure you create one macro that sends your pet to attack (/petattack) and you're good to go for leveling. Get used to the game first for sure.

Ive actually tried the hunter macro it actually dosnt work, in a wierd way it works somehow when you do the right timing on moving just after you press the trap macro, (yes i do spamm it) but when you feign death it dosnt let you use Freezing Trap unless you move and stand up, so it fucks the macro totally. Im so devestated due to this actually worked every time in vanilla and i cant seem to get it to work!!!! I get raped by rogues and warriors because i cant get away from them once they get close to me :( PLEASE HELP ME FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! THUMP THIS COMMENT UP SO IT GETS NOTICED PLEASE!!!!!!

I had the same problem. What fixed it was going into the addon settings and checking the lock in place option. Once i did that it disappeared and only comes on when attacking.

muhshuh Noob hunter question, at 0:31 are you pressing mouse wheel up (for hunters mark) and auto shot macro like almost at the same time? Hunters mark lands on the target, but It doesn’t look like the hunters mark button on your action bar is being triggered? At 1:07 I see you pressing the button, but at 0:31 it doesn’t look like it?
@@mattwalton3565 yes that's exactly what I hit at that moment. You have it right, not sure why you can't see the button press, probably just from hitting it fast.

Rank 1 arcane shots for boss pulls? That's pretty crazy. If the boss is tauntable, you wanna use aimed shot + distracting shot for max threat which will the tank get upon taunting. If its not tauntable, rank 1 is still so low threat that it will immediately run after drinking healers, warriors using bloodrage or battle shout etc. I'd recommend using max rank arcane or just regular distracting shot. You can always use feign death when the target reaches the tank.
If you're in a situation where people are aware of the strat, it'll work well, if everyone is static.

Try removing Counterattack.
I'll test it when I get to a high enough level, but I'll be sad if this doesn't work anymore. I'm thinking the retail client might prevent Counter Attack and Mongoose Bite being together.

make sure you copy paste if possible. The 4th line is actually part of the 3rd line. You don't hit enter in between. Just space.

I tried a few different ways to do it, starting with the one in your link. None of them seem to work, unless im just completely wrong about what mouse over is lmao.
