Georgian polyphonic music is a traditional style of vocal music from the country of Georgia. It is characterized by complex harmonies and unique vocal techniques. Georgian polyphony is often sung by a group of singers, and it has been recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage.
I absolutely cant agree with you. She is stunning but what it makes great and special the song is the mix of the two Boys with the etnics vives. JUST AMAZING. M absolutelly winner of this year.
Everyone has his taste and there is no point in arguing! Personally, for me, "Hero" is most expressed by the harmonic singing of such a strong range!.. But no one disputes that the vocals of these three children are the best. Their song reminds me of the great Disney characters and it really sounds like a great soundtrack of a fairy tale!.. This song will take you somewhere in another galaxy and I like it very much!.. For me this year, Georgia is different, individually original and charismatically airy!.. She is the most worthy candidate for the victory this year. With strong and multi-voiced vocals! .. Good luck to these kids on the live stage!❤ 👍👏 🇬🇪
This entry is absolutely stunning in every way. Mixing Georgian traditional polyphony with modern somewhat familiar melody yet, overall so original, done with mastery with beautiful visuals and messages, and all three singers, OMG!! My winners!!
we agree so many times it spooky sometimes but here i have to say - i strongly disagree, i love the touch the boys add to this song. for me its perfect the way it is 🙈
From the comments i understood that the georgian polyphonic style needs a bit more trained ear to feel how complex is the harmony here. By the way, Georgian polyphony is one of the the most sophisticated in the world according to professional musicians. By UNESCO it is recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Some may not like it (it is matter of taste) but boys' contributions is not off the tune, as some noted above 😊
I just want to say that I do applaud Georgia for doing its thing like Portugal and a few other countries who remain faithful to themselves most of the time ; it's great to share their culture and everything. I'm just not from Georgia or even Eastern Europe (I'm from Belgium), so I'm not used to hear this style of vocal arrangement at all, and I didn't mean to be mean with my comment by the way, just in case, it is just my opinion ; I don't mind the boys most of the song but especially that one note in the chorus is just, for me, uncomfortable to listen to because it *feels* off to me compared to the rest of what is happening, which probably isn't the case for people who are used to this style of music and like it. This occurence maybe isn't accessible to me or it's just not for me ^^' At least, that was really interesting to hear and I checked the page about Georgian polyphony on the UNESCO website :) Thank you for your message that wasn't disdainful about it as well
@@SharveyPlays I mean, there's nothing wrong with their vocals in themselves like I said before, just that note in the chorus feels off and I gave it a another shot a few times, been trying to listen to it again several times but... It just doesn't work for me. The timing they come in just doesn't work for me :/ It breaks the vibe of the chorus for me, that's how I feel it that's all ^^' Also, I don't have anything against ethnic elements, my favourite this year is North Macedonia exactly because of that, the ethnic instrumental break in that song is just gorgeous, but the difference is, I think, it feels more accessible than Georgia, at least for me and I know I'm not the only one not feeling great about Georgia this year. I still applaud them for staying true to themselves though and those who love it will love it, hopefully this will help them get a good result this year again ^^ All in all, I just know I loved Georgia last year, I Believe was so good, but I don't feel as positive towards this.

What I'm saying is it doesn't work for me, the timing feels off to me, it's not that I don't understand it or that it is ''wrong'' since it's part of Georgia's culture so that's actually completely understandable why they would send an entry with Georgian polyphony and there's nothing wrong with it. Idk I loved it!! Definitely in my top three this year. I actually loved the Ranina parts as they made the song much more interesting (and unique) for me. Plus, I feel like their entry incorporated Georgian ethnic elements really well. They're going to get my vote for sure 🥰
First time I heard this I was like hmmm idk too. But it is my clear favorite now. Although I think it might not resonate with children I could see it flop. But the voices of the boys is what makes this song for me. I needed a couple listens to like it as much as I do now tho. What a masterpiece! 😍
georgia is my winner for the 3rd time in a row they're just so good it's crazy ! also the way the boys "break" anastasia parts are probably a heritage from the georgian singing culture, you just need to train your ear to accomodate itself it does feel weird when you're not you used too !
If it were just her parts, it would still be a decent song but it wouldn’t have the feel of Caucasian polyphonic music that this does. I can see your point on that she won, but if no backing vocals are allowed (can we have that change back for ESC s as well please) then they would need additional backing vocalists to get that feel.
The first time I listened to it I wasn't too sure about how I felt either, but during the second listen it instantly clicked with me and I can't stop listening to it ever since. Georgia is my clear winner this year, they're bringing the most unique and special song to the competition and I hope they get rewarded with another top 5 result ❤️
I've loved this song from first listen, for me the boys really amplified it. Georgia almost never sends anything traditional/ethnic-sounding to ESC/JESC so I really like seeing this change from them
I think this will be stunning live if they nail the vocals !! Also , i find it odd that a reactor speaks in every video for JESC " I like the countries music culture " in the song in a positive way when they love the song BUT the second they don´t like the song " the music culture " off that country ruins the song .. Maybe open up your mind to new music culture and styles ..
Have you changed your mind about the boys vocals yet maxxi? I know youre going to end up loving it. Georgia & Ireland need to bring their JESC teams to ESC
The thing about this song is that it isn't catchy when you listen for the first time, but when you keep listening you simply cannot stop. I had the same reaction about the boys' voices at first, but now.. GOSH it's amazing, so much better with their voices.. I always love your reactions, you're so honest, keep doing what you do!
From what I understand, the boys were added to give the song a specific Georgian sound. Don't get me wrong, I didn't get this song at all on first listen but I'm starting to come around to it. Not everyone will like the sound though, similar to how some people didn't like Kateryna's white voice from Go_A
Thank God , that these two countries respect their cultural heritage and they are radically different from each other. Those who don't have anything ethnic anymore, or just never had any, should worry💔😉😄
Guuurl, I was waiting for your reaction for this video!! 👀 For me it was serving Enya meets Imogene Heap, in a pastel fever dream. I like it, like when it comes on I'm vibing but I'm not actively looking for it. 😋 I like it. It's like stinky cheese, I love the stank!
I completely disagree with you . Boys make this song more unique. This year they can’t use prerecorded sounds, that’s why Georgia bring more vocals in the song .
I like the part the boys are singing. I think this is okay, but not one of my favorites. Definitely not as good as last year. That song was amazing. This reminds me of the stuff that you can hear in the Ranina competition where Georgia chooses their performer for the JESC. Those songs are kind of jazzy, ethnic sounding schlager music. That doesn't sound like something that kids would generally listen nowadays. I'm not saying that those were bad songs. No, I like lot of that stuff and all the kids were amazing singers. It just feels like a weird way to choose a performer for the Junior Eurovision. Why not make an opera singing contest and have the winner perform at the JESC?
I like the boys' part of the song and her voice is very pretty but I don't think it all mixes together very well, and the main melody of the song feels so dull to me. so unfortunately, this is one of my least favorites this year. I'm looking forward to seeing the staging though!
Honestly, we kind of had the same sort of reaction to this entry :o I'm not a fan of this one either unfortunately, which is a shame because Georgia was one of my favourites last year along with UK and Ireland and they're often a really good country in JESC overall. It is my 10th place just over Italy and kind of for the exact opposite reasons ; the song is good and interesting, her voice is great on its own and the voices of the boys are good on their own as well, but combined, the harmonies don't work for me at all here... Also, I had the exact same reaction everytime the boy was doing the high note in the chorus when the girl was singing, it was like it was cutting through completely because it's out of rhythm to me but in a bad way and breaking the vibe, the mood of the chorus. I don't know, I just think it's not for me because there is actually potential here but it really does not work for me. The softer parts done by the boys do work though. Overall, since it is a better song, that's why I have it over Italy but there is something off to me.
@@allmight2795 I mean... Ukraine's song doesn't have much ethnic to it this year apart from the intro and a bit in the bridge, like, I'm sorry but the chorus feels very basic and repetitive ; by the way, North Macedonia is my first place this year and what I love the most about their song is the ethnic instrumental break of it ;) And for Georgia, it's really just the high note in the chorus which doesn't work for me, it breaks it up for me ; I've tried to listen to it again several times but the timing of the high note doesn't work for me.
So sad about your reaction..I am sure your music taste is much wider and deeper then this poor reaction... sorry , maybe you were not in the right mood to react😢
I feel the same I hate the boys coming in. It’s rythmically incorrect, that’s why it’s breaking the flow the chorus, makes it not catchy.
