    I've come to like the little dings in my j45, brings back memories of my dogs that did it, it reminds me of how fragile beautiful things can be, but seriously, when I was new to the guitar and bought it brand new, the sales people didn't tell me anything about taking care of it, but were more interested in selling me an insurance policy for a year. It should be required that anyone selling a guitar have to inform the buyer about how to properly care for it. I've run across many of us that have had to learn the hard way, and I pray that the lessons not be wasted 🙏

    • @MontyMcKinnon
      @MontyMcKinnon  Год назад

      You are correct. When you consider how much money are investing in a guitar, it only stands to reason that you want to take care of it. Protecting investment such as a beautiful guitar, is it worthwhile venture.

    I never mastered the art of playing the guitar. I tried so hard but my brain and fingers are not connected 100%. You master RUclips so well and I think you will both teach others a lot and yourself as well by jumping into this. Sound is good, focus is good and you explain everything so good. I wish you all the best with your new channel. Now I feel sorry for my old guitar resting in the basement.

    Full disclosure, I have involvement with a guitar accessories manufacturer. Just wanted to say that getting players to understand how important it to properly humidify their instruments is very difficult. I use the humidipack systems on all my acoustics as it gives out and absorbs moisture as needed maintaining 45-50% humidity. I live in the south of England and even with a steady climate, I have still found these essential to maintaining tone and performance, not to mention avoiding cracks and wharpage. enjoyed the vid, thanks!

    Wonderful tips. So are you going through the whole process of making an acoustic in these videos? I'm fascinated by several things like how you measure (and replicate) radius changes on the neck? How do you insert intricate inlays on the headstock? How do you work out scale lengths for necks? How do you refret an old guitar? Even how is the wood for the curved sides shaped? So many more questions but hoping it's all covered in the making of videos! Keep up the great work.
