Yesssss! Count me in on this one! That's how you make a board game out of a video game, respecting the actual gameplay and not giving some random mechanics with the game's name/skin.
They certainly kept the feel of the video game here and there’s lots of different types of actions that can be taken. More info should be out tomorrow when it launches too! 🔥
Excellent video! I appreciate all the suggestions you gave concerning rules. Nice to get some lack of clarity cleared out. I'm sure MOOD is listening. I also love that you got knocked out so we can see how that plays out. The simplicity of this game has me excited since I have been on a stretch of heavier games. It seems to have just enough to be entertaining while being new player friendly.
Love that Dashboard....Helps keep it nice and neat and compact on a table.Like Tile style games because one of my first played games was LotR :JiM-E( which you helped me learn to play with your playthroughs).
It is so cool to see so many popular video games IP transfer to the table in board games. This one was amazing on PC, can not wait to see the campaign on Gamefound.
I agree! Always cool to see games people have enjoyed digitally implemented on the tabletop. Gives you almost an automatic connection to the theme and immersion as people have explored the world/lore prior. Thanks for watching! 😄
When you said that when you are outnumbered, the attack you receive will gain a extra hit point, I thought "Aha! That's the sonabitch Valheim gameplay I know" =D
Game looks interesting, hope they get the rulebook sorted before the campaign starts. Seems like a lot of "from my understanding" because the rulebook is incomplete/unfinished.
27:00 It would be my understanding that once a new event card is drawn the previous one would end, so you would have been able to take advantage and hunt the special card deer.
Can’t wait for this! Curious, how do you feel about mixing minis with standees? Don’t mind it or prefer for all of it to be minis? Torn btwn the standard vs deluxe edition bc of this especially bc the standees art looks quite nice but also have way too many minis and don’t ever see myself finishing up the paint jobs!
I can’t put my finger on it, but something seems really off in the board game. Maybe is resource collect and build… just seems too simplistic I like the brutality of combat - would hope for mechanics to interact with it
I love the video game, like immensely, but I doubt I'll get this honestly... It feels a little lackluster mechanically, this dice-chugging for literally everything isn't really appealing to me. Combat is especially boring, it's like Massive Darkness but with no flair. I'll still keep an eye on it, but I'm very much on the no-go mindset.
@RollingSolo Always find something on your channel that rips my wallet apart Adam, so no fear of that 😅 For me, it just doesn't capture the feel of the video game. There was also some criticism for MOOD on the gamefound comments around their silence, which they have since been a bit more active, but just a red flag for me.
Not remotely impressed with combat. Seems stupid to die from two grunts near the beginning of the game. Really don't like how melee enemies attack you while you're attacking them every single time. It doesn't make sense. Are you expected to die multiple times per game?
Hey! That’s because I went deeper in than I was prepared for. Didn’t have armour and was early on. It’s a survival game after all. You’ll need to be prepared to head out and some encounters will be more dangerous than others.
This very true to the game, it's all about preparation. If you run into the forest without adequate food, armour and weapons you'll die very easily. There is a big difference in difficulty with every more difficult tile type. In the game you need to ready yourself before venturing from meadows to forests
@@MickWhyte-xi2qv I was quite happy to see the game smack me for being under prepared. I could have also worked around the enemies....but there is always a risk they could go on the move due to effects in the game. Felt it gave off the same vibes as the video game. Cheers!

Appreciate that! Glad it was helpful. I felt the game played very smooth and not over complicated. That’s a win for sure!

Awesome! Glad to hear you've enjoyed multiple games here on the channel. 🔥
I was so hoping you would have a review over this game!! Time to get some popcorn and check it out!!
I got you covered! Let me know your thoughts when you’re done watching. 👏🏼😄
I'm tempted. Really does remind me of the video game.
They certainly nailed the vibe! 😄👍🏼

The mechanics seem slightly different but overall this looks like it captures the video game very well.
Hey William! Glad it peaked your interest. I’m sure the campaign will reveal even more too. 😄👍🏼
When you said that when you are outnumbered, the attack you receive will gain a extra hit point, I thought "Aha! That's the sonabitch Valheim gameplay I know" =D
🤣😂 There it is! Right there! 🫵🏼
Game looks interesting, hope they get the rulebook sorted before the campaign starts. Seems like a lot of "from my understanding" because the rulebook is incomplete/unfinished.
There are a few aspects that could be clearer but it’s more in a few nuanced situations. I fully expect them to be cleared up. Thanks for watching!
Dang it Adam your gonna make me a poor man, I will be backing this tomorrow!
haha 🤣 Just glad you found something of interest!
27:00 It would be my understanding that once a new event card is drawn the previous one would end, so you would have been able to take advantage and hunt the special card deer.
Hey! Thanks for watching. Prior event said until your next turn which is after the event phase. So I played it as written to be safe. 😄👍🏼

No issue for me. I usually go for one or the other but I wouldn’t have any issue with mixed. 👍🏼
18:20, why didn't you add an animal location to a vacant space?
Great eye! I should have. Thanks for watching. 😄👍🏼
Lol, ironically I want a digital version of this :) Come on Dire Wolf please make this :)
🤣 Tough customer here!
I can’t put my finger on it, but something seems really off in the board game. Maybe is resource collect and build… just seems too simplistic

The game starts of simple in the first scenario like all games and as it's survival it continues to get tougher as you go along. Don't be fooled! 😜
does it have replayablity or is it only these 14 scenarios?
It has replayability for sure. You can increase the difficulty and play as part of a campaign or one shots.
I love the video game, like immensely, but I doubt I'll get this honestly... It feels a little lackluster mechanically, this dice-chugging for literally everything isn't really appealing to me. Combat is especially boring, it's like Massive Darkness but with no flair.

Hey! Thanks for watching. Happy to help either way. The campaign page will have more information I’m sure. See you around here 😄👍🏼
This game looks absolutely rubbish man. shame, as the video game is magic.
Hey Mark! Sorry to hear it wasn’t a fit for you. Hopefully you find something else that suits your taste. Cheers!

This is essentially very similar to what would hapen in tn the video game when you take on multiple enemies while not having prepared any proper gear.
