waiting for your podcast with Paul man!!! I remember when your channel was still growing!! I knew it would be so big!! You channel name justifies all you contents!!! It's all about attention to details man !
Paul, The squids have spoken. We want to see knees over toes guy (Ben Patrick) on here. I asked him on one of his recent youtube videos if he would want to come on here to talk to you and he responded saying he would love to, up to Paul. I think you guys have such different training modalities it would really cool for both followings to hear both of your perspectives on training, where you overlap, and where you differ and why. I'm a certified squid btw. I've watched every episode up until this point and am hitting that like button before even watching this because I know it's going to be great like every other episode. Let's make it happen! Thanks
Paul I love how you exercised your active listening skills throughout this interview. It allowed me lock-in on your guest and their personality. This interview changed my thought process about hoop. Keep doing what you're doing!
Lets goooooooo!!! Was just thinking about when this would be out then i remembered the ig story last night. Went on here and i think this is the earliest i EVER clicked on a video lol. Bouta be blessed with this knowledge 🦑
This was a great convo! Props to both of y’all for speaking on the things that we see regarding this generation’s mindset and lack of communication skills. Hit it on the head.
I feel both of yall, I'm 33 and I feel better now than I ever did in HS. I'm faster and jump higher now, just because of knowledge of training. I coach JR and constantly am trying to encourage strength and conditioning with my kids now as opposed to just playing all the time like I did at that age.
Filming yourself while practicing is one of the less recognized methods of improving. Speech, biomechanics, even posing effectively are more difficult than they appear. You won't even realize how unnatural you're doing something until you see it from a third-person perspective.
U are so right that’s why I say it’s hard to look good on camera while doing something that involves sports or stuff alike ive always said this, it’s harder to look good on 📸
Damn bro it hurts to see this episode not getting enough recognition... it's really really fun i would've watched hours of this if it was available no 🧢
Man thats so true what pjf said about how once people find out they cant make the NBA they stop hoopin. Ive seen so many ppl like that and i just dont understand why they dont play for the love of the game and not for the fame/money. And even if u cant make the nba theres still so many ways to make basketball your career so i dont get why you would just quit a sport you've been playing for so long
@PJFPerformance Could you go in-depth on Devin's type of handle? Like the difference between a stop, change, and go handle (Kemba walker) vs a stay in place handle (like Dev's)? I saw your vid on loose vs tight handles, but I think this would be a good video too!
You should start off by just doing mobility aka (maximizing the range of motion between your joints) because you’ll decrease the injury chances and it’ll be a good way to get your joints more flexible. Then after start doing bodyweight for few months then weight room if you have access
A lot of (already fairly talented) players got very far by just playing ball constantly - most of the Hall of Fame in fact. For all the other players, *train smart and train hard* and play a lot
They are 31/32 talking about they played 4 games a weekend like it was a lot. I'm 40 and played AAU and we were playing 4 games a day. Lol. Plus other leagues, school and outdoors. My knees were trashed by the time I got to college tore it twice. They didn't hand rehab and all that like they do today. They just told me I was done. Wish I knew them what I know now tho. I felt that same depression he talked about. Crazy how that effected so many.
Im currently experiencing this. My doctor made me take pills and said just dont out stress on ya body and he added its normal and im not sick. But its been 3 years im still having my sht and now its getting fucking harder and harder. I keep going back but nothing happens
Today's basketball culture is all about "the grind" and just suffering to make it instead of the love. But that defeats the whole purpose AND you will get results slower that way.
First of all, not being smart in school or excel academically, doesn't tell how smart you are or can be in other areas. Paul is a very articulate person and for him to say he was smart in school is like what? to me. But then again i know school alone doesn't determined or tell how much you can and will develop mentally.
Interesting episode. I’ve been a huge fan of Dev’s videos since the first 10000 hours episode. Over time I realized that Dev is a great content creator and motivator, but not a great trainer. His videos are entertaining and motivating, but are not informative or enlightening. He is not even close to the level of knowledge and teaching ability of guys like PJF, Phil Handy, Rico Hines, Jordan Lawley, Drew Hanlen, and other top trainers. He lacks the knowledge about the game (situations, reads, why/when to use a skill or move, overall bball iq) that makes trainers great. He also lacks even the basic scientific knowledge (biomechanics, kinesiology, physiology, fatigue and adaption , player psychology, the learning process) that makes great trainers elite. He can teach players how to shoot, dribble, and iso, but lacks the ability to take them any further than that. He can make decent players good, but can’t make good players elite.
Devin has a lot to say and really doesn't say anything at the end of the day. I wouldn't want to know what he did in China just like so many other basketball players.
“He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.” Isaiah 53:3-12 NLT "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 God loves you so much and showed that by sending His Son to die for us so that we may inherit eternal life. We deserve hell but He gave us heaven through faith in Jesus. Bruh, no hate but this guy doesn't even know what an eccentric is, prob let alone an isometric... not really acceptable for someone who influences the training of so many young players, even if he's predominantly a skills trainer. Not such a smart thing to admit either
PJF getting great features! Both y’all dropping free game
You next?
Always heat. 🔥
U up next man
You’ll be sitting in that stupidly large seat next

To my favorite PE coach :) thanks for another collection of gems. And thanks for jumping on Devin, great episode💪
This podcast has so much gold in it!! Love hearing you guys chop it up!
Overall, Dev makes a lot of good points and observations. He _is_ a pioneer, a creative legend and is clearly going to keep growing 🌡🏀
I keep going back to this video, and it's good to see the progress Dev's made on his knees and getting back/improving his athleticism.
Lets goooooooo!!! Was just thinking about when this would be out then i remembered the ig story last night. Went on here and i think this is the earliest i EVER clicked on a video lol. Bouta be blessed with this knowledge 🦑

Like watching this episode and having the knowledge they didn't had at my age, gives me such a sense of gratitude 😀🔥
This conversation was heaven sent. Real talk💯
Knowledge is power.

Gems from 2 of the best to do it!! Thank you.

Dev the GOAT
Can you do a video on your exercises that you'd recommend for a beginner to strengthen all of their joints.
You should start off by just doing mobility aka (maximizing the range of motion between your joints) because you’ll decrease the injury chances and it’ll be a good way to get your joints more flexible. Then after start doing bodyweight for few months then weight room if you have access
Great episode
We need to see a 1v1 between Paul and Dev! The battle of the shiftiness 👀👀
