This car is a complete marvel of German engineering. Not just the engine, but the car itself. It's a tank, super robust, with a comfortable and spacious interior full of quality materials and craftsmanship. Whenever you step into the car, it still feels modern even 15 years later. Not to mention that it has a 5 star safety rating.
The days when German manufacturers just put insane engines in their cars~~ I mean 6.2L V8 in the W204 C63, 4.0L V8 in the E90 M3, 5.0L V10 in the C6 RS 6 and in the E60 M5, 4.2L V8 in the B8 RS 4 and the B8 RS 5, and this Q7 with a 6.0L V12 diesel~~
They were cool and crazy. Nowadays Audi puts a 6 cylinder Diesel with fake exhausts and speaker exhaust sounds together and a S7 badge on it. What happened to them? A shame.
The old body is so much better in terms of design and proportions. The new one got "dumbed" down (for the lack of a proper term) because of the Q8, an other Audi SUV made to look smaller than it is.
She seems to rumble all the time. I got the rear 2 in 2 out muffler taken off my 4.2TT TDi and replaced with 2 Stainless steel resonators. It's noticeable when cruising but not loud. Loud is from the lights or flooring it. Still get less than 10 klm/hr as a highway average, though if I drive carefully I can achieve 8.3 klm/hr. This is a 2008, with the 6 speed auto, the 8 speed would be lower consumption again. Best vehicle I ever owned. Next one either V12, more likely the SQ7 when the price is right as they are still stupid expensive.

The concept of a 6 litre biturbo V12 diesel is so unnecessary and stupid, and that's why i love it.
You basically buy this to say fuck you to all that see diesels as a damnation for the people that do a lot of mileage.
