The high dps runs that don't feel as strong, are because a large portion of that damage is overkill. The game tracks overkill damage, not just the damage needed to kill the target.

M1000 with thick boy to one shot everything including bosses is very fun.

7:58 To play Devil's advocate, even the dwarwes say "You shouldn't eat precious minerals! It'll get you killed!"
I find it funny though that the ONLY thing a Loot Bug is vulerable to are the miner's pickaxes and not to Xplosions, rockets, high calber rounds etc. :D

About those DPS numbers: Maybe the enemy has armor and Damage blocked by armor still "counts"?
So one weapon does 20k, with 10k blocked by armor. Or half the damage not actually making a dent.
While another deals 13k, with 3k blocked by armor. So 70% actually reduce HP.

Your theory behind the loot bugs would be correct, as a DRG player.

If there was a weapon that could damage them you would just find resources on the ground here and there and forget loot bugs even existed, rendering the design decision of having something that tempts you to go out of your way and waste time popping them useless.

I didn't think scanners of the same type stacked. Apparently I was wrong. Thanks for letting me learn something new.

It may be a glass cannon, but it shatters everything ;)

It certainly feels like the boolo cap missions are a bit easier, but they're not quite on par with Morkite yet. I didn't read the latest patch notes fully, so I might be imagining things, but it seems the maps are smaller as well. Maybe they've just put the boolo closer together.

I always thought that if you would kill Lootbugs automatically, you'd pick up more resources which may be a detriment for example if you have the upgrade that reduces movement speed for all the Nitra you carry.

It doesn't show the DPS of a weapon but it divides the total damage done by it by the mission time, so if you kill everything quickly with strong weapons the total damage is lower and thus DPS value too

I feel like the game doesn't allocate the explosions that result from overkilling with the M1000 in the final screen.

the game is calculating DPS over the whole run (in this case 21:07min) and not in a limited time period of some seconds where you would see the most recent DPS - the math is still not quite matching up but the system gets complicated due to the permanent upgrading process, i think ;)

The fact that you can only kill lootbugs by either mining or squishing them by objects when you have so many weapons to kill enemies in so many different ways...it just irks me... Hell, I basically died to a lootbug once when it was blocking me while I was trying to run away from an elite slasher and it killed me (This was also BEFORE the fixed them that their HP did scale in a situation which if the bugs got stronger in the previous floor that the lootbugs somehow manages to carry it over in the next floor, causing very inconsistent kill times)... It was literally hiding by the wall that the I-symmetric view couldn't make it be seen unless if I focused really hard enough to see it wiggle around.
......And I suppose I did also had died to a golden lootbug once because of bad greed and got surrounded by the swarm...

I get your reasoning. But I imagine the deciding to kill a loot bug or not yourself is mainly just time management and is designed to engage the player. And.....to determine if you're a terrible human or not of course!

Do "perks" from the drop stack? For example if I pick "get exp while mining" twice, will it stack? Or will the second pick have no effect?

Abou the damage numbers, I am always confused about "weapons report" and "damage report". They don't match AT ALL.

I think the Extra beam on the zapper is actually his clip size...normally you shot two times before reload but after you picked one extra beam you shoot 3 times...so i dont think its useless ( im not playing the game)

It feels like you did less damage with your weapons, but check out the time spent which is 21 mins. Fast runs means better boss damage and less damage overall. On the other hand, weapons with aoe or bad accuracy or low dps have trouble killing the bosses but you spend more time dealing aoes to small bugs, skyrocketing weapon dps

yeah, I was thinking about this as well after the video. especially killing stuff too quickly during the boss fights at the end of each stage probably makes a huge difference compared to (unintentionally) kiting them for a few more minutes each times with massive amounts of bugs on the screen at all times

  • @AlexeyDyachenko
    @AlexeyDyachenko 4 месяца назад

Yea, the clip size was 4 but shown as 2. Actually, after I started watching your videos I recondidered buying the game, as it has a crapton of bugs for a small amount of mechanics it has.
