- This is a short video showing how I repaired a Main Combi boiler with a Flame failure flashing light. It took in total from arrival..to tools back in the van 20 mins ..drain down, expansion vessel recharge, change part ..and fire back up. I was in a hurry !!

I was in a hell of a hurry to do this job as I was as already running out of time to the next job, I had a used pump on the van and fitted that so the shop had hot water for customer toilets. Has been fine ever since. Not what I normally do but he was fine with it 👍

That’s what I do matey, when a customer calls, get them to text their details & you’ve a record of the job.
Also, I must show you how to ‘clean the can’ on a Grunny Fixed Head circulation pump. They’re bullet proof & I bet I could’ve got that one going👍

I'm in west London as well,starting out fault finding and fixing boilers ,been in the industry years.(Gas safe redged)I sort of know what I'm at😉.
My question is how do you decide what to carry on the van. Is it experience that tells you the most widely used spares to carry or how do you pick your spares to carry in your van,want to give my customers the best possible service and also save myself time then it's a win win.
jonathan shekleton Good Question matey.. I carry the essentials to get “normal “ work done.. plumbing fittings etc.. then it’s service stuff seals then pumps and stacks of Motor valves etc.. one visit sorted. All expensive stuff comes of the van tools etc.
So pump heads for boilers,Ht leads,fans,thermistors,flow turbines,do you keep them on the van.

jonathan shekleton 1. Motorised valves 3/2 port. Prvs Trvs,inhibitor x10 ! If u wanna do the job right. Fittings both solder and compression. Vaillant spares gas valves . But honestly keep it simple until u can tell what most of your works gonna be..no point it sitting there. Space in a Van is valuable and must work not sit there mate.
How would you diagnose on a Main 24 HE gas combi burner red light on SOLID not flashing, but actuall boiler burner NOT lit?
Does this sound like flame rectification issue in your experience,or am l compleatly on the wrong track?

Should the automatic air vent screw on this pump be closed after installation and bleeding has taken place? Or is it designed to be left open......as the name suggests automatic.

What's the best way to pump expansion vessel when there is not enough space behind boiler to attach pump?

Came to few of these recently havent seen any spark and summised it was the gen but this seems more plausable

Pity you’re not local, I can’t even get a pilot light. My boiler just displays rA whenever I try to reset it!!

1 bar or about 12-15lbs

I got flame failure quite often since a week, but It doesn't really affects the water. It is still okay, can this be dangerous somehow?
