Well done. All the hard work paid off. These cars give you the best smiles per mile ratio of any car I think. This channel is fast becoming a go-to resource for TF owners. I'd agree with the comment below re the tank lock. The tank cap has to be fitted the right way -- i.e. arrow on the lock aligned with the arrow on the car body. If it's still sticky, then I'd lube/ WD40 the mechanism. I'm in the process of recommissioning mine having had it off the road for 7 years. Just fitted new rear discs and pads and did a full service including fuel filter. Asked a mechanic friend of mine to waxoyl it, and he noticed a totally perished front wishbone and the beginnings of a coolant pipe leak, so new wishbones and stainless steel pipes on order. Hoping to get it though the NCT (Irish MOT) during the summer. Keep the videos coming.
Well done on the Mot, a pass is a pass, enjoy the driving. I've just put mine back on the road after 12 years and lots of work and I love it. Great cars and a great following. Plenty of help on here . Another good video, keep them coming Good luck.
Yeah it's great, we had our first day out yesterday... lots of fun and no issues when we got stuck in traffic for an hour. Thanks for the nice comment. 👍
@@Exhausted-autos I did not have the standard wind deflector, looked cheap anyway. I experimented with card board and found it needed a piece between the head rests and wind would also flow down back of seats to floor area. So i blanked that off with a horizontal sheet. Should of made a kit of it and sold online.
Congratulations on the MOT! I came for the B/GT, stayed for the TF (we didn't get those in Canada sadly), and have enjoyed myself immensely the whole while. Great work, Craig, keep it up!
With my 2001 MGF I use STP when I put fuel in the tank and make sure the engine is warm when I take her for an MOT, does the trick. I do notice that I get better thump out of the engine after using STP. Not seen any mention about more ethanol fuel in petrol engines affecting cars...
Well done Craig, am so pleased for you. I have felt your pain in every video you did especially the engine mount bolt removal for the cam belt change . Can you tell me what obd scanner you used. Keep the videos coming and enjoy your car.
The scanner is an amazon purchase. OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner Code Reader Reset for Android Windows, Auto Car Diagnostic Scan Tool OBDII Adapter for Check Engine Light for Torque, OBD Fusion, Car Scanner App amzn.eu/d/hqIS98k
Hi Craig, silly question but where do you jack up the front and rear with a trolley jack, only ever used the jack supplied with the car. Worried about damaging the seals, love the videos 👌
Hi Richard, I always jack under the subframe/subframe mounts. Nice and solid. It is a big jack though, best thing I ever bought making things much easier and safer.
Cracking looking and sounding TF that :) Need to sort my interior rattles out, the moon craters I have to drive over round here are not helping! Hoping my soft ride kit will help a bit. Congrats on the pass!
Oh man that exhaust sounds good
Yeah it's bonkers..... sounds awesome and asks to be driven hard.
Top job keep it up inspires me to get my MGF back on the road
Thanks, get it done buddy you won't regret it.

Good luck with the nct, I hope all that hardwork pays off. Glad you're enjoying the videos, cheers.
The arrow on the inside of the fuel cap should always be placed @ 12 o'clock then you can turn the key. Tip, do not put E10 in your tank !
Mine only runs on E10; they were designed to run on it.
See a post from a fellow owner in Canada says he's run is on e10 since new as there was no alternative there

Well done Craig you got there...go and have some fun 👍🇬🇧
Thanks Paul, we had our first trip out yesterday. All went well, even when we got stuck in trafic for an hr.
I made a air dam out of perspex mounted between headrests and had horizontal plywood board behind seats to stop draft down the back.
Did you do that instead of a standard wind deflector, or both?

Push on the top of the outer ring to release the vacume in the petrol tank then the key will work fine.
Cheers, I'll give it a try. 👍

Great news, love your content. Hope you keep making the videos. What exhaust is it please as I fancy one for my car.
It's a Miltek system, but an MGF one with a F catalytic converter fitted to a TF.... its amazing.
Cracking looking and sounding TF that :) Need to sort my interior rattles out, the moon craters I have to drive over round here are not helping! Hoping my soft ride kit will help a bit. Congrats on the pass!
Thanks Darren, yeah not a great car for some of our bad roads.... the potholes are proper bad.
@@Exhausted-autos yeah, you should hear mine over the pot holes round here ... Brilliant on smooth roads though

Congrats mate, great effort!
Cheers mate, enjoying myself if you couldn't tell.
Loved my TF, but didn't trust after i had gasket changed.
In know the feeling, I was the same with an Alfa GTV years ago when it threw a conrod. 👍
well done mate, now enjoy.
Thanks, it's great timing too with the weather finally improving. Cheers.
Well done, the fail was not registered on the MOT site. So dome good work not recognised.
Yeah they don't have an MOT abandoned option..... at least I didn't have to pay twice.
