I love how the violonist at 0:45-0:53 looks like he has to fight back tears. In Trutina is truly one of the most beautiful songs I know, and what a voice, too! It's a beautiful rendition, albeit almost excessively slow for my liking (although I seem to be prefer this song faster than almost any rendition I've found). Perfect if sped up to 1.25.

Muy bien dicho todo. Concuerdo en absoluto. Excepto en la lentitud, así la siento, así vibro con la sublime belleza de la letra y de la música. Quienes han acusado a Carl Orff de "populachero" y "facilón", se les nota que no han sabido escucharlo con detenimiento.

This version is actually one of the few truly harmonious interpretations of this aria: Jana Marie Gropp sings the piece with the simplicity and sensitivity it needs to really unfold its beauty - no unnecessary glissandi, no sultry vibrato - just clear tones that convey the sweetness and innocence of the piece. It is true that this text is also to some extent about passion, but not in the sense of lustful pleasure, but deeply felt, rousing devotion in love. I like Natalie Dessay's interpretation even better: her vocal colour is even leaner and she manages the arc of the individual melodic phrases even better.

Tiene usted razón señor Le Vin; en efecto, es asumir el amor carnal, pero esta versión crea un espléndido equilibrio con la sublime enunciación del pudor, que Orff captó muy bien y lo dimensionó por encima de la fiesta y el jolgorio, que es lo que predomina en muchas de las otras musicalizaciones (con justa razón) de Carmina Burana. En cuanto a mademoiselle Natalie está bien, pero esa pronunciación tan intensa de las "r" es incómodo para el oído; parece que canta en alemán, no en latín.

Carmina Burana is not Bach, or Handel, or Mozart, or Beethoven. It is arguably the greatest orchestral/choral showpiece of the 20th Century, In Trutina is a perfect blend of beauty and simplicity. Pure genius.

Ascolto questa versione, tutti i giorni, da sei mesi.... A mio avviso è la miglior interpretazione che esista sul web. E' lineare, precisa, chiara, asciutta e senza fronzoli inutili. E poi Jana Marie Gropp è anche bellissima.
