In Kuwait we add cardamom, cloves and saffron to our coffee and we call it “Arabic Coffee”.
We drink milk with saffron, cardamom, cinnamon and honey. It’s delicious! We call it Karak.

Y'all have the best food in the world over there.
My husband is Moroccan and he walks several paces behind me and who ever we are with when we are there, so he can watch for pickpockets. Moroccans are the most hospitable people in the world, but every place has dangers. I love Moroccan food, but I get sick every time I go, I think from the water. It’s okay, because weight loss lmao. I think you did well pronouncing Essouira-when my husband says it, it sounds like he’s saying ‘swear-a. Jimi Hendrix stayed there for a couple weeks, I think in 1969 and they’ve never forgotten it lol. The trees the goats are in are argan trees. Morocco is just overall very surreal. I recommend reading The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles, an ex-pat writer who fell in love with Morocco and moved there in the late 1940’s. Ok, I’ll stop going on, but now I want to go back.

You will not be the same person when you come back from the Sahara. I spent one week there hiking with camels - the silence, the darkness, how bright the stars are at night, the beauty of the dunes.. I've never felt so much a part of nature as there. It is a magical place.
Sounds like a wonderful vacation! I love what you said about traveling. The longer you stay in a country, the more you realize how we are all similar. I find that to be so true. I traveled all over Asia when I was younger. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I was in China, but the people were kind, welcoming, had similar dreams and wishes for life that we all do. I think we all want the same things for us, our families, and the world, no matter your background.
I was worried sick when I saw the thumbnail with “bad news” in the background! Glad that you’re coming home safe and sound AND had lots of fun! It’s truly heartbreaking for the lost of so many precious footages but don’t worry, there is always next trips. ❤
I’m glad you enjoyed yourself on your adventures! That sucks about the theft, next time you travel, upload your SD card daily, so the loss of footage won’t be as severe. I’ve been there, and learned that the hard way!

I spent a year in a country in the Middle East before I went to college and it was the most rewarding experience I ever had. I met the warmest, kindest, laid back yet boisterous people and ate the most amazing food. Still, this many years later it’s my favorite life experience I’ve had. I’d love to go to Morocco someday. It’s at the top of my bucket list. So glad you had a great experience although sorry to hear about the stolen camera/footage. Thanks for sharing what you could with us!!

I always feel that way when I travel somewhere new....especially places off the beaten path. I absolutely love to hear you talk about your experiences when you travel. My husband I have lived overseas for the last 7 years (Dubai, Uzbekistan and now Switzerland). Now Morocco is on my list!! I also think we are all on this planet to connect with each other in some way....so cheers to you for a wonderful trip and keeping an open mind! ;(So sad about the pick pocketing .....may be a rite of passage....I got pick pocketed my first time in Paris)! In the very olden days, my father left the lense cap on our movie camera on during the 4th of July parade in Cheyenne Wyoming. 1966. An exciting experience, not to be shared.
I loved your vlog and the photos you did share. Morocco was a hostile place when I was there about 30 years ago towards Americans, especially women. It was, however, one of the most extraordinary experiences in my life. I would go again in a heartbeat. Thanks for the memories. So sorry for your loss. I too thought the issue may have been that Miss Butters was I’ll.

I think I already commented about this on a different vlog, but I lived in Morocco for several years. The markets are amazing and I did enjoy the food as well. The French influence is all over the country but I really felt the Muslim presence as well. The goats that you were talking about were in Argan trees. It’s so funny to see them. I did the camel ride into the desert one Thanksgiving and we did not have any bathroom facilities, nor did we stay in as nice of a tent as you did. In fact, all of us laid around the fire for two nights. It was an experience I will never forget. Aside from losing your camera, it sounds like a trip you will never forget!
What a lovely video so interesting. I live in the UK and often go to North Africa for a long weekend… Marrakesh, Casablanca, Egypt is also amazing !! We go there often at Christmas and swim in tfe Red Sea on Xmas day lovely !!

A recommendation is the Cave of Swimmers in the Gilf Kabir Western Sahara…I cried with emotion when I went there many years ago…thank you for a wonderful video today which brought back memories

The traditiional way that Argan oil is harvested is the goats climb the trees and eat the argan berries. They then poop out the nuts/pits that are collected and cleaned by hand, then pressed.
They spit them out not poop out … just a friendly FYI😘

Ahhh your trip sounds absolutely magical, theft aside. We had something nicked out of our bags at the airport on our way back to London which made me sad and shaken at first. Then I thought, well, it wasn't valuable (a fold-away tote bag) and the thief probably needed it more than I did. You so perfectly described the YSL gardens. I could have stayed there for hours. That blue!! 😍💙💙

12 hours through the mountains I would DIE........!!! Oh my Lord. I will always love you for bringing us the goats in the trees pic with your smiling face, how incredible! It all looks incredible, riding CAMELS OMG!!! I knew it would be magnificent, and strange, and new... The sunrise in the desert, just seeing your pics, and the description, I would have shed tears seriously. What an incredible experience. The 12/14 hour treks tho... Sometimes a splurge after everything is WORTH it all! Oh Michele, the cats, we love our cats, what a perfect ending to your incredible trip... Oh no but the trip home, the cost for traveling so far from home... but so worth it!
Interesting that Bob Marley is popular in Morocco, but it is Africa after all. I've read that is true in Iran also, something about not just the chill, but the liberation rhetoric.

hi yes we have been too , its a trip definitely need to be taken , but camels are a bit smelly ! and very sore on the derrière ! but yes night time is to be experienced , did you see the stars ! we could see the space station orbiting ! now don’t laugh our camel had a head scarf on ! it was so funny and grunting ! cats are perfect for me as i have siamese myself ! and of course i could have adopted more ! my love liz xxx

Really enjoyed your video. I feel you with the motion sickness but glad that you decided to just go anyway. I felt that way in St Lucia going up the mountains to get to a waterfall. Glad to have you back!! I’ve missed your longer vlogs. That’s such a shame about your camera. Not just for us but for you also, as the footage would have been great to look back on in the years to come. Hopefully it was insured. Morocco reminds me of India in some ways, India being my favorite place ever and it’s so diverse within itself. Thank goodness it wasn't Miss Butters! My husband and I (pretty much on our 1st date) were held at gunpoint in Costa Rica only hours after arriving, so things can happen anywhere. I'm so sorry you lost memories and moments. It's true those can never be replaced.

On another note... I tried Kypris glow serum and all the bottles at Credo were dried up. One day I would love to try to the brand since you rave about it. Love your morroccan buys! And I'm glad you made it home safely. 🙂
