It does not work. People who came from America legally know what's it like to come from a country where government controls everything.
@@dawrldizmike Why do we need public colleges when we could do either homeschooling, charter colleges, private college, or online colleges which makes it more substantially cheaper. Competition > monopolies (government backed) America was founded behind competition.
Leif C. You understand the problem with free market capitalism is that it doesn’t support competition it supports capital. Which is why we have these laws because capital saw fit to work children and own people in America. And capital now thinks it’s okay to shrink the labor force so in turn the market is going to crash because people aren’t spending money. And without demand there is no market.
Leif C. Because there have always and will always be monopolies in capitalism it’s the natural end point. There are private online and charters idiot the reason people don’t use them is price in comparison . Larger schools set market trends still which is why even online universities charge thousands for courses and if they did undercut public schools guess what would happen. They’d be bought because capitalism supports capital not competition.

I think what she was implying was that every job she wants requires a degree. To be fair there are a lot of jobs that require a degree. For example, one can't feasibly have a career as an engineer, or physicist without a degree. In many states to be a licensed engineer you have to have an engineering degree, but for someone to get that degree shouldn't be on the tax payer through student loan forgiveness. If you're going to get a degree you better have a plan to use it, or be able to pay it off. Otherwise figure something else out.

In reality the only way you're making big money is to fill a field that is in high demand, again look at engineers. If you get a degree in psychology then yes the minimum will be a masters with slightly higher than average pay. Why? Because we have a free market that decides and the demand is not high enough for the supply.

From a friend working in hospital debt collection: We will always go harder after those who have a proven record of paying their bill than those who do not because we have to get the money from somewhere and since those people have already paid before we know they are more likely to pay again. Most are also paying for the child’s car, insurance, college, phone, food just to name a fee. Buy yea the students have much more to worry about.
Once someone says “I feel like” before they speak just know their feelings will override any logic and facts. Best bet is to disengage that conversation with that individual immediately.
Young folks logic: "if I make my own money I kind of want to keep them for myself...not kind of have to give them to my friends"....BUT it's ok to force taxpayers to give them to stangers...
And never forget that if you refuse to pay your taxes and any punishment at all for doing it the last consequence is death. We should all consider with alot of care what the government should or shouldn't make it's citizens do, because if the most absurd thing gets put into law and someone doesn't comply the full extent of that is a citizen's death at the hands of the state just to uphold an absurd law.

So you’re telling me that if I work hard and show up to work on a daily basis, that I will make money? That seems like an absurd thought. I must get someone with a liberal arts degree to look into this.
Billy Edwards I wouldn’t be so sure, I have had people tell me that you need a masters degree to get a minimum wage job. Obviously they are exaggerating, but they honestly believe that you have to hold a degree to do anything worth while, which just isn’t true.
@@iamcosma7065 Well for certain fields a minimum of a bachelors degree is required, i.e. engineering. I know many people with engineering degrees making at least $73,000 starting out in the Dallas area and living comfortably in high COL areas. In other fields a masters is minimum and they're not minimum wage jobs that they so claim (it is a massive over exaggeration), but these jobs don't pay like engineering so they feel cheated by the system.
In reality the only way you're making big money is to fill a field that is in high demand, again look at engineers. If you get a degree in psychology then yes the minimum will be a masters with slightly higher than average pay. Why? Because we have a free market that decides and the demand is not high enough for the supply.

The problems with socialism always come down to the fact that capitalists have to earn the money to pay for socialism.
My favorite was the girl who said "No, I wanna keep my money" yep, so do the rest of us
Only that most people have a lot more money then students, this is like asking should we tax lower income families more to pay off student loans. No we should take the money from people who already have more then enough. Most families could afford say for example 100$ a month extra, most students could not.
Lol your comment makes no sense. No one said you had to spend money on college or that you’d be paying for these people. You just assume you’ll be paying more tuition? I bet you’re not even in college so this wouldn’t even affect you in the slightest, in fact it if happened it would only affect college goers and to send a message it’s not right people would stop going to college. Also no lawmaker would ever allow debt forgiveness to be paid off by newer students. If they remove all student loan debt it’ll be a straight removal with no ways to get that interest money back. Student loans are basically scams and the government allows it to happen and the people can’t vote against it because elected officials don’t always vote the way they should.

At my local public college, after my scholarships (and I have the highest merit scholarship), it would cost me 15,000 a year. I would be able to pay it off at minimum wage if and only if I worked full time. And that's really cutting it close. If I go to a private college the least I'll have to pay is about 9,000 right now. My friend went to a school where they had lesbian dance theory has course. The professor and head has a theatre degree but the school asked as a supposedly joke class became popular. Take away communist professor's salaries.
yes over paid and under worked for what they get. Cost went up and continue to go up when the govt does the student loans.
