    You know, it is funny TOEI says latin america is their primary target for distribution because, as much as that is 100% true on the side of anime, we have almost 0 of their toku properties available in stuff that isn't in portuguese as far as I know.

      @@Dave102693same, I’d love to see Kamen rider get more of a distribution presence in the states. Hell, if they didn’t do what they did with Saban’s Masked Rider, it could’ve been the second show to rival and keep up with power rangers. Hell, it could be targeted towards an older demographic, and it would cost as much as an average power rangers episode. Too bad American Toku was screwed after power rangers, which is a shame cause I believe Rider could’ve been huge in America

      idk where you are but at least here in chile and i think in nearby countries like peru they are at least starting to pick it up, sato company now has spanish subs on prime video for kamen rider black, rx, build, zi-o, kuuga and agito and i think ex-aid and saber just got announced but yeah they picked it up maybe half a year ago so theres not much, mainly on toys which are still zero.

    You know, I can agree on various points regarding the ways of toku distributions, that may include the flaws of distribution such as bad grammars on official subtitles released on YT with "Honshin" as an example.
    But speaking of which, for the case of toku distribution in Indonesia. It has a long prior experience since Indonesia has brought in many official toku releases in form of tv airings and physical releases. Various TV stations were involved in this like RCTI, Indosiar, Trans TV, and recently RTV's been handling this job since the other channels couldn't air official releases of toku in expense of airing local content such as high drama sinetrons, and we tokufans dislike the way they've been treating sinetrons as the best way to milk profit yet it's terrible and soulless compared to the toku shows they've watched.
    Indonesian tokufans nowadays prefer watching official releases on RTV airings (YT and TV releases) of the shows, it consists of mostly kamen rider, power rangers, and ultraman, but super sentai has the least treatment unlike the others since they recognize power rangers more than Sentai. I can agree that these official releases are very good and valuable that it helped on the new wave of official local toku releases, and that it brought in many new fans

    as grateful as i am with the releases we've gotten, it still annoys me that we still have to rely on fansubbing to consume toku related content not available outside of japan. im all for buying products to show support but, copyright issues aside, sometimes i feel like toei teases us on purpose. i understand their anime IPs are the bread winners world wide but they are unknowingly losing out on potential money because, at least imo, it feels like they refuse to give more resources and support for their toku content.

    • @allgoodnamestaken6002
      @allgoodnamestaken6002 3 месяца назад

      Yeah, just because Toei can afford to neglect their Tokusatsu IPs doesn't mean they should. Expanding internationally only means more $$$ for them. Unfortunately, they seem to think that Western Toku distribution will only work with the "Power Rangers" formula.

    there's a company bringing tokusatsu for brazil and they got kamen rider black & rx kuuga, agito build and zi-o (Full with subs) in amazon prime video for some reason they got some metal heroes too like gavan jiraya jiban and juspion and they said that toei is waiting to sell super sentai rights to release in portuguese (they said that toei stated that they are on hold until hasbro finishes that thing with super sentai or something like that) and they also dubbed the last episode of kamen rider black and put on their cinema screens alongside the zero one movie (they dubbed the zero one movie too for some reason and never released the full series) becouse at the time black was airing in brazil they never release the last episode in tv only in vhs

    I really do hope that Toei can work something out with their Western distribution, actual Western that includes Europe/UK/Australia, etc. I got into Toku big time thanks to Power Rangers Samurai which got me interested in the origins. Samurai Sentai Shinkenger was the first fansub I ever watched and is still my favourite Sentai so far. I would absolutely LOVE to have a Shinkenger blu-ray release in the UK but distribution of Toku in general is non existent.
    I just found out about the KR Black and Black RX blu-rays in the States and it pains me that they aren't available in the UK. They are my all time favourite Toku's. Even if I did import them, I can't watch them as like the Shout Factory Sentai DVD's they are region locked to North America.

      I wish there was a Tokusatsu service like Crunchyroll has, where we can get simulcasts and subs of newer Tokusatsu media. In fact, I wish Crunchyroll would really step up for more Japanese media other than anime.
      There is a movie I heard about with the actor for Doc in Gokaiger, which was a mockumentary about him. I wanted to watch it, but its completely lost for western audiences, even through...not so savory means. I then tried Crunchyroll, since I know they subbed some dramas, and it wasn't even there for some reason, despite there being movies made AFTER that movie was released subbed.

    I’m honestly a bit scared for Super Sentai’s distribution in the west. Not for any legal or logistical issues, but rather the fact that unless they decide to keep going forward in terms of release date and release Magiranger next…the next show we get might be Turboranger. I lost brain cells watching Turboranger and I’m scared that people are gonna hate the series as much as I did and scare Hasbro into not releasing any older Sentai series even though Liveman will be next. Then again that could just be my paranoia talking!

    • @Pokesatsu96
      @Pokesatsu96 Год назад +4

      i see where your coming from but a better way to look at it is 90% of sales for now will be from veteran toku fans. so shows like turboranger or goranger will mostly be bought by fans who love those seasons.

      @KingCasual1986 Год назад +1

      @@Pokesatsu96 you’re probably right. Still, I feel bad for any new American viewers whose first Sentai is Turboranger! I’m normally anti-piracy these days but Turboranger is the exception (if I ever decide to even watch it again)! No piece of media in general made me as mad as the first two episodes of that show did and I am not paying $60 for it when I can just torture myself for free watching it on RUclips! If I were in charge of Shout Factory, I’d say skip it and go straight to Liveman.
